When I tell you that 2012-2015 me and my boys at fort hood on the 3rd floor of our barracks facing the barren training areas had this as our anthem, and drank enough to kill most small countries? Goddamn I’m telling you the truth.
Apparently, this story is based on a "real" folklore about a spectre who challenged a guy named Bubbles to a drinking contest or duel in Cripple Creek.
When I was younger...I loved country gospel. Enjoyed 1980s Kenny Rodgers, Oak Ridge Boys, etc. Grew up on John Wayne films with my dad...but as I became a teenager...my tastes changed dramatically to heavy metal and then hip hop. But now I am a through and through metal head. But those musical tastes never truly left. It was a blessing to discover Ghoultown.
Ghoultown, I love them saw them in SoCal before awesome band been a fan ever since I always consider them more of horror punk but yeah I guess you can call it that too
I really love the concept of “if you draw against his hand, you can never win.” Like oh you’re the fastest most accurate draw around? I’m already dead.
For such a dark song, it has quite the positive message...You can beat death itself, and perhaps help a damned soul along the way...by drinking him under the bar...
song is really cool, they've got a couple more on youtube that are als worth a listen, but what really made me smile was your enthusiasm! made the vid even cooler, keep it up!
Duuuude it's the 2:32 a.m and i'm seeing your reaction to this song.... I'm from Mexico and I was so excited as you the first time I've Heard this song. Now it's on my top 5 favorite songs. I can recommend you another masterpiece if you allow me; High noon in killville from Johnny and the Angry something (sorry, can't remember the name). Such a beautiful and wonderful song too, greetings from Mexico, you got a new subscriber 🫶
Dude, Elvira and Under the Phantom Moon are my favourite Ghoultown songs and videos. I'm kinda shocked you hadn't heard them before. Check out The Tea Party... totally different kind of band and music but you might find Temptation and The Bazaar to be kinda killer.
Ghoultown! Nice! that whole album is pretty damn cool. Lots of great songs and dark stories from the wild west. If you wanna something a bit more heavy from them. Try "Werewolfs on Wheels" for example.
Volbeat already did this in 2013 with Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies, only better. This is a watered down version. Glad to see you reacting to new music though. Request Beartooth: Devastation.

This song is basically "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" but with a zombie and a drinking contest instead of the devil and a fiddle contest.
