excellent demonstration. the only thing i can add is that reducing distal foliage on the root stock or host plant encourages the tree to put the energy in the scion. reducing distal foliage is more important in apically dominant trees. try to make the graft apical in reference to the branch. grafting deciduous trees is a little harder,
