    Everything Disney has been doing in the past few years is definitely not in the interest of their "guests". They took Magical Express away and now have a paid service. They took away FastPass and now have a paid version. They took away free MagicBands for resort guests and AP renewals. Now you have to pay if you want one. They took away package delivery to the resorts and lost sales in the process. They increased prices to ridiculous levels (not that they weren't ridiculous to begin with). They shuttered so many great stores across the parks. They sell the same old stuff in every shop. I wish I could run the company because I would bring back the magic.

      Unless you have access to their accounts there is really no way to know if money was lost. All we have is quarterly earnings which while increasing is just 1 number. Disney has always been like this. It’s a company like all the rest. They just did a better job pretending they aren’t a giant corporation.

    I've never felt so abused and taken advantage of financially as we were this past trip. Customer service was poor. It was not the Disney I know. The cast members were not happy and I'm sire its not just their fault. Lack of training, only hiring college program kids, and allowing sub par service is getting out of control. Literally cast members were cussing at kiosks. I've always fought back on their side but I'm starting to lose faith 💔 and it's devastating. The food quality and portions provided with the 1- 1.75$ mark up was shocking. The difference 30 days of a visit made was horrendous 😢

      So sad to hear. :( I’m Anaheim local (I mean 3 hours away) been a pass holder one way or another since I was a teenager.. covid happened and then I had a bunch of back to back surgeries; I didn’t see the parks for a couple years and going back this past year for my birthday (before I turn 30 this year) the vibes were SOOOO different (plus genie plus and all;it’s been that long) just the cms, all of it was off (again, none of this on the cms!) but I mean everything was amazing of course but just so different just not the same:/ part of me tried to convince myself it was me being older but nah.. did the grand Californian, went all out, reservations for Ogas lamplight blue bayou and even a perfect trader sams on birthday night, everythjng was planned PERFECT but again.. things have changed so much. :( it made me kind of sad (not in a spoiled way, I paid for my own disney to trip lol and again it was amazing and beautiful) but felt so foreign.
      Buuuut after finally being a full year chemo free I’ve saved up bit by bit (and ended up in a workers comp case 😅) spontaneously ended up in a trip this upcoming December to FLORIDA I still can’t believe it lmao

      Oh, and I hear the ginormous new park is making pretty good headway. They are slowly getting a bit more confident that they will make their opening day of 2025. Crossing my fingers. I cannot wait to see Super Mario World and ride in a Mario Kart. @@largol33t1 yeah, our 2022 trip was so miserable, disappointment after disappointment. On our last day, I got the call from my daughters school that they were canceling classes for the rest of the week due to forecasted snow, hours later, went to MCO for our flight, and they canceled the flight while we were having dinner. Ended up booking a last minute trip to Universal for three days, something you can’t even do at WDW anymore. I’m not a big fan of Universal, but the customer service and upkeep were so much better than Disney! I couldn’t believe it!
      We figured we would go back sometime after Epic open, but then, after Disney teased us with more concept art that probably wouldn’t see construction, Universal announced a new regional park right in my area! I remember joking with a cast member at my local Disney Store in regards to the closing of Disney Stores, about how Universal thinks we’re worth investing in.

    Visited WDW I’m mid October and I have to say I’m a little disappointed in the condition of some of the attractions in Magic and Animal Kingdom. Several park features were simply not running (such as the water works at the Swiss family Robinson Treehouse), and the Hopper animatronic was not operable at AK. I was also disappointed in Tomorrowland which looked like it could a fresh coat of paint on the outside and inside of many of its buildings. This was my first trip back to the parks in 16 years and it looks like little has been done to keep all parts of the parks pristine. Shocking considering Disney’s resources.

I flat out asked years ago and I was told they made it that you can not call the resorts directly. It goes to the call center to answer your questions. Unfortunately, the people at the call center really don’t have the best knowledge about the resorts, so good luck.

    Lets be clear, Disney world has never bin "Cheap". It has always been a premium experience. But from what I remember growing up in the 90s and 2000s, everyone said the "Disney Difference" was felt, and no one ever I remember saying it was a waste of money. Many of them starting saving to go again sooner than later.

      Honestly, it hasn't always been crazy expensive. When you look at Disney before the 2000's it was much more affordable. In the early days it was between 20 and 30 dollars a day in today's money. By the 90s it was more like 75 dollars in today's money but that was anyday of the year! It used to cost half of what it does now, when you account for inflation. It's sad they lean so hard on the parks for profits when they could still be profitable at much lower prices.

    • @TheGoofy1932
      @TheGoofy1932 6 місяців тому +2

      Stay off property. It's very easy to find nice hotels close to the park for under $100 a night. And during non peak times that price can be $50-60 a night. Even with an Uber or Lyft to and from the park it's still much less than their cheapest value hotel rate now. Plus, many of the good neighbor and hotels off Irlo Bronson have free shuttles to and from the main theme parks. Plus, many of these hotels also offer free breakfast with your stay, which can help with the high costs of Disney restaurants. You can bring food into the parks too as long as it's not in a glass container. So it is possible to do Disney and have a very good time on a budget. Do your research and make a plan if it's something you want to do. You don't have to stay at Disney's very over priced hotels to have a magical time.

    • @The_Alexandra_B

      @@TheGoofy1932 I’ve done both and in my opinion, staying off property takes away from the experience and ends up being about the same price anyway with parking/transportation. • @ziggy4465
    @ziggy4465 6 місяців тому +57

    I feel that, like most people, Disney should be an escape from reality. I shouldn’t need to bring my everyday with me, i.e. my phone. The best part about our Disney trips was placing my phone in the room safe and checking it when I got back.
    By integrating the app into so much, you’re limiting the guest experience. Not to mention it’s costly to maintain. The parks used to be an industry leader in planning, crowd control, queue management, etc. Now, they’re not even average.
    The entire reason that we would choose certain times of the year to visit was reduced crowds. Yeah, the parks closed earlier…but we never missed out on riding a single ride we wanted to experience and, most of the time, we didn’t need to wait more than 30 minutes.
    On top of that, we never had to deal with daytime construction whether in the parks or at the resorts. The constant refreshing of rooms is necessary, but don’t inconvenience the people above or below that construction. The last thing I want after paying thousands on a room is to be interrupted by construction noise, even if it is midday.
    While we’re on that subject, why can’t Disney go back to an all internal workforce? In the long run, it saves incredible amounts of money as the job is done once rather than repeatedly. They used to have their own gardeners, construction workers, maintenance staff, housekeepers, etc. Now, a lot of this is outsourced and the companies are not going the extra mile like a full time permanent employee does. There’s no pride behind the work or service being provided.
    I wouldn’t mind the price increases if it translated directly to a better experience, as it has in the past. Now, it seems like a money grab and no one likes that. Don’t just raise prices because costs increase, find a better way to lower costs that don’t impact daily operations. Easiest way to do this, eliminate layers of management. Too many managers interfere with productivity and success, this is a proven point. Having less oversight is the key to success when you hire properly. Again, there will be exceptions to this…but in my experience, managers are not integral to the success or failure of a company. Good employees are. If you don’t have the right staff in place, no amount of management is going to make it work.
    Maybe that’s what’s missing, the right staff to get the job done. Everything in these parks was much more efficient in the 1990s and the price point was acceptable for what you were getting. Now, it’s just missing the “Disney magic”. The whole point of going is to have fun, relax, leave the everyday behind, and, if you want, not plan anything. Can’t really do that anymore. Kinda sad.

    • @dandiehm8414

    I am currently at Disney world right now, I was telling my wife and her parents today, the parks have lost a little magic to me, between the wait times, lack of free fast pass and the crowds, the parks are seeming more and more like a 6 flags park. Instead of enjoying our time I am constantly on my phone looking for a ride that won't be an hour or longer wait. We paid so much money for our trip and we simply can't afford fast pass for the 6 of us. This simply hasn't felt like the most magical place on earth and I'm not sure I will be in a huge rush to come back and spend 7k on a vacation again for a 6 flags feeling amusement park experience. Unfortunate Disney, I am quite disappointed.

    Zootopia and its fans have been extremely disrespected! Not only did the film make over 1 billion (and is the ONLY non-sequel animated film to do such since) it also won multiple awards including an Academy Award and it was also named one of the top 10 films of 2016 by AFI (which is rare for an animated film). None of this has mattered to Disney as they only care about how much cheaply made toys they can sell to little girls!

I'm going next February and the price for a four day park hopper...discounted through Undercover Tourist (which is cheaper than through Disney) is almost $700!! That's about $175 per day for a park hopper!! Really???? Just ridiculous!! Attendance is down and their stock has tanked....and it's no wonder.

    11:00 resort cast generally only speak to guests who are in house. any “direct phone number” for the resort goes to the guest services team that is over all of the resorts. pre-arrival calls all generally need to go to disney central and post stay concerns are generally directed to the guest services email address.

    I just went this week for 4 days and it was alright but once every 5-8 years is enough to see the new stuff or updates they make. The maladjusted Disney adults are a problem though, they’re why Disney keeps jacking up the price of everything because they know they have that group that will always pay.
