Australians have lazy speech. Therefore we say Melb'n. It would not be pronounced like this by Lord Melbourne himself! Vanessa Amorosi would be the top female singer in Australia in my opinion. Her vocal skills and delivery are incredible. 'Shine' is a beautifully inspirational and uplifting song. Have you reacted to her LIVE performance of, "Have A Look," by her? It's totally different and displays her wonderful talent. It's a must to hear and see!
People correct your pronunciation because Melbourne sounds odd in an American accent but you’re not actually saying it incorrectly at all. I speak Chinese and I can’t stand hearing non-Chinese pronounce Beijing but it isn’t wrong. You shouldn’t be expected to pronounce Melbourne with an Aussie accent. Anyway just my 2 cents worth lol.
