Gareth I just found this video omg it’s made my day, you’re so gentle and kind to your parents and your mother is some chef she is unreal and so calm under pressure. All the food looks DELICIOUS and the table is laid so nicely you’re blessed 😇
Just like my Nan & Grandads at Christmas in the '50's. How did Nan cook all that for 6 or 8 people on a 3 ring cooker and all on her own? You wouldn't have caught Grandad washing up either. Nan was a great basic cook, dinners, apple pie, etc., but her Rock Cakes were just that!! Think she used Blue Circle Cement instead of McDougalls Flour. Lovely old lady. God rest her. Great video Gareth.
Man I love that stove. Great for big meals. I liked this video so much I watched it twice. Love your mom’s beautiful smile. You can tell she loves cooking for you.

Hi Gareth. This is a great video you've done. You've really captured the warm loving family atmosphere here. Your mom has worked so hard to do this massive banquet and I love that extra wide oven. This video has made me very hungry now. I think at one point you were showing signs of welling up, what with the wonderful reminiscing you did looking back at the family photos and the ones of you with hair! 😊. Your mom and dad, like you, are such wonderful people. I only wish I was there too on that day to enjoy your moms wonderful cooking. Anyway all the best and 'I'll catch you on the next one'. Wow .. My mouth was watering all through the video so good to see your mum and dad what an amazing Sunday lunch everything locked just as I an 88 year old Yorkshire “lass” now in NZ, always enjoy yes even the sprouts
Excellent! Something different. It really reminds me of home when my parents were still here. Mum would slave over the cooker for ages while dad peeled spuds and sliced carrots, prepared sprouts he had grown in the garden (potatoes too). Because we had a small poultry farm in the 1960s we ate a lot of chicken which was basically free food, since mum always selected an old hen that had stopped laying. My mum loved to cook for the family when we got together at Christmas.
Growing up as a kid, mother made the same Sunday dinner every Sunday for decades. Alternating between a rolled beef joint and a leg of lamb. Remember that I had to pick up the joint from the butcher's on a Saturday morning, bought and paid for during the week. Angel Delight or Instant Whip and tinned fruit for afters. In the afternoon we had homemade cake and whipped cream. Sitting in front of the telly, watching the 3 o'clock film. Films would come up on the telly, 3 years after they had been first released in the cinemas.
Glad to see this type of cooking and effort of the Sunday roast is still around today. This is how it was when I was young and mum's really knew how to do it well. These days, I am happy with a packet of pork scratchings instead.
I've never seen such a good life. I think your mum, and dad worked hard for it. It is well deserved. You look just like your dad. Just lacking a few decades. I'm glad you gained such a life Gaz. All from hard work. Thank you for showing me how life could be. Second thought. Your mum does the work of four chefs. Amazing.
Absolutely lovely stuff, like you and your mum said - it's like a Christmas dinner! As you said that you weren't there for Christmas day, it's nice that you got to have that with them. I hope it tasted as good as it all looked.
Always remember going to visit my parents at the weekend with my partner and son, watching mum and dad in the kitchen preparing the roast dinner, and after dinner sitting in the living room with open fire and all falling asleep at the same time, waking up about an hour later, great memories, wish i could go back in time. RIP
Your Mam and Dad are precious. It hit me right in the feels when you showed the picture of your grandparents and said how much you missed them. I never knew my grandparents, they had all passed away before I was even 5 years old. There are photos of me with them as a baby but unfortunately I was just too young to remember them. I often wonder what it would have been like to talk to them and what stories they could tell. That's just the way things go I suppose.

Hi Gareth, what lovely parents you have, your Mom is an amazing, cooking all that food at once, and it was all done to a tee. Thank you so much, and your Mom and Dad, for letting us share such precious moments with you, and your beautiful Sunday dinner, I am sure it was well received by all, and very much enjoyed. What better way to spend your Sunday, than surrounded by the ones we love. Enjoy!
Perth WA left Gateshead in 1963.... It takes a lot to impress my mam in the kitchen.. She admitted to learning something (also rare) she loves the oven (s)? And the way your mam is using immaculately clean equipment. Took much food was her only critisism well done. Congratulate her from the world.

I often wonder what it would have been like to talk to them and what stories they could tell. That's just the way things go I suppose.
Oh sorry to hear that, yes they brought me up when I was a baby as my dad worked in Germany in the 70s.
We all lived in the same house from when I was 3 I spent a lot of time upstairs with them
Love it ! My mums like my best mate many Christmas’s she’s cooked for me and six of my best mates, she loves making people happy. She also calls me sunshine 😂
Brilliant 👌 love me mum ❤️

Glad you enjoyed it
I miss family days like that 👍 thanks for sharing
You're welcome
Hi Gareth, what lovely parents you have, your Mom is an amazing, cooking all that food at once, and it was all done to a tee. Thank you so much, and your Mom and Dad, for letting us share such precious moments with you, and your beautiful Sunday dinner, I am sure it was well received by all, and very much enjoyed. What better way to spend your Sunday, than surrounded by the ones we love. Enjoy!
Thanks so much 😋👍👍
Perth WA left Gateshead in 1963.... It takes a lot to impress my mam in the kitchen.. She admitted to learning something (also rare) she loves the oven (s)? And the way your mam is using immaculately clean equipment. Took much food was her only critisism well done. Congratulate her from the world.
Cheers thank you kindly 👍👍
