This video was such a trip down memory lane for me. We used to live in the Dales and were regular visitors to the Great Yorkshire Show. Oh, happy days.

Philippa, apologies if I am telling you something you already know, but Masham Sheep Fair is a great one to go to. Their website gives lots of details. Nowhere as big as Harrogate, but still a good day (or two) out.
@maureenemmins8532 Yes, I have heard and I think Needlebugs exhibit there too, I nearly went last year but couldn't make it, I'll put it on the calendar for this year, it's always good to hear that you enjoyed it, thanks so much xx
Thank you for taking us with you to this exciting show. I loved seeing the different breeds of sheep in one place😊. All those great fleeces, how did you resist😄. I’m envious that you have such great places on your doorstep. Three hours exhibiting your felting art must have been exhausting but well done 👍🏻💕
I made another little Highland whilst sitting there and people were so interested, I never get the time to felt at my normal craft fairs so it was good to see how it went. I will get more footage next year as I think I missed quite a few things but all the sheep breeds were impressive, take care Val xx
Wow, what a fantastic show! I'm from New Zealand and we have a lot of sheep! But seeing all the different kinds there are is amazing! Especially the one with double horns! Thanks for taking us along on another wonderful adventure xo.

thank you for sharing this Philippa. As a Young child living in the South my school would do a trip to the Kent County Show and I loved it. Haven't visited any such shows for a long time so it is nice to see your video x
Yes, I used to go the the Surrey County Show but this one was about 10 times as big, so much to see, take care xx

What a brilliant show, thank you for taking us with you. I would love to go there. Here in Australia our shows are similar but I’ve never seen one with such a huge variety of stands. We had our local show not long ago and my first horse felt got second place. I’m ready to move on to your horse head course but for some reason I’m having a major confidence meltdown 🤷♀️ it’s like I’m scared to start it. Thanks for being such an inspiration Pippa.
I went to GYS on the last day ( Friday) . We’ve been going every year for over 30 years . Fabulous day out

I went on Tuesday and it was such a wet day!!! Luckily I didn’t have too long a journey in as I went very early and I think a lot of people waited for the rain to ease! Still had heaps of fun and the people at Crafty Fibres were so lovely and gave me some colouring sheets for the Brownies. I loved all the different sheep breeds!
That's good that it wasn't too busy, I think I will go early next year and try and get round to seeing everything, it was a huge event xx

When felting on my lap (ao basically every time I'm felting) I always have a piece of wax tablecloth between my felting mat and my legs. One time I didn't and even through my thick foam mat I had fibres all over my trousers. It looked hilarious.
Maybe with the wool buddy and other wool mats you don't have that problem, but just in case. (also those wax cloths are great for craft fairs in the cooler months, I have bigger ones I can basically wrap around myself and they help keep me warm. On the other hand, in summer you are almost melting under them... Nothings perfect ;) )

I have to say in summer I'm not covered in as much wool, but when I wear my signature long sleeved oversized sweaters... balls of wool are hanging off me everywhere :D
Now I know what people with long-furred pets feel like!

That was interesting. I've never been to the show. My brother lives in Harrogate and said we could walk in. How wrong was he! I will try next year. I've just started needle felting and loving it. Hopefully you will be there next year and I can say Hello. (Ps. I'm visiting from Oz!) I will keep watching your videos. They are great x Su
Thanks so much and yes, walking in would be great but they have huge gates up everywhere. It's an expensive show but there really was so much to see and I think I missed half of it. It's in the calendar for next year xx

Yes, she did, she's okay to sell them, that is allowed, it's just turning them into kits etc. It really was a massive event, hopefully I will get more and better footage next year, thanks for watching xx
