Whole heartedly agree about Googling builds as a way to learn more about building. I'm not an experienced simmer by any means, but I do feel like searching out other people's builds, deconstructing what you can find in the gallery, watching youtubers' builds, and trying to recreate IRL homes are all fantastic ways to see what you and the game are capable of. You can still add your own style to the final product and develop your creativity as you become more experienced, and that's totally fine.
YES. not only copy great builders, download other people's builds and have your sims live in them. you'll adjust their build and learn that way until eventually realising that someone else's build wasn't right for you and you'll rebuild it better and more custom with what you learned living in the build of great creatives.
My gripe with Newcrest is not the empty lots..I love that so I can sorta make my own world...My complaint is the shapes of the lots...the lots along that side, the long ones make me want to rage...then when I make my lots the shell houses around them are never cohesive with the vibe I'm going for.
my complaint is that the surrounding world is set in stone and can't be changed. You can build a bunch of modern houses......but they look out of place against the backdrop
@@countrye3013 this is true but that’s how it is in the worlds usually. If you use the T.O.O.L mod, it allows you to place things off your lot anywhere you like, so maybe you can try that out! It’s a bit complicated but there are tutorials
I wish that they would give us another Newcrest world with bigger lots. Less weird 20x30s and more larger lots. A few more 50x50s and two or three 64x64s. We have so few of those! I get what satch is saying. It can be hard to start from a blank slate…but I kinda wish Newcrest was even more of a blank slate. Like just a forest or field surroundings. I can’t stand seeing the ghost/non intractable buildings in the neighborhood. Hate when I make a nice build or going for a certain neighborhood look, like cottage or Victorian manor in this world. Only to haves the vibes ruined by an ugly city building or tons of suburban homes in the background.
i dunno what it is about seeing Sims players outside their comfort zones but i love to see a gameplay simmer do a build video. i'm super proud not only of the building skill on display in this video but the fact that you got a little political in a video in a way that i'm absolutely here for. lets care for the bees. even if you don't care about bees we need them to stay alive. save the bees 🐝
I just came here to say, I LITERALLY DID THE SAME, i thought it was so ugly seeing it like that so i fully made mansions, common houses, minihouses a bar and other things on it WITH SIMS🔥🔥🔥
That's a great build. I like building in the sims, and it's made me look at architecture. I watch a lot of builds on youtube to get ideas from really good builders. I also don't like a lot of clutter.
Every time he said he couldn't do something cuz it was too awkward or complex, the next sentence was "or we COULD DO...?" 😂 I do the same thing. Been telling myself I can't build certain things, then I start and my vision comes to life eventually.
I actually love having a blank world.. lol 90% of my saves start in Newcrest. It's just nice having the option to make it whatever you want. Of course you can do that with any of the worlds, but a blank canvas is more inspiring for me.
I am loving that you are putting some time into building =) Your places are looking so cute and nice for playing in. Edited: HINT for making fake rooms, paint the terrain a stone and then use roofing to block in the space. It will feel like a room but not count towards tiles use ;P
I did what you said in another video, and just enjoyed the base game this past weekend. It was the most fun I've had with the game in a long while with all the bugs. Thank you for all your Sims content!
Heres something people don't seem to understand: There is nothing wrong with copying someone else's work to learn how to do something, improving your skills, and get inspiration. There IS, however, something very wrong about taking credit for someone else's work and creation. There's a huge difference between the two. If you don't have the common sense or human decency to know the difference then I'm glad I told you, and google it if you need further explanation. Thank you.
i added a vets office, and a dog park. in the dog park i added food vendors, and 2 rooms. one if based on kitty nd the other is based on puppy. there are couches in front of a fireplace, so you can have a cozy nap.
I thought you said you don't like building that much. Are you sure, it's so enjoyable seeing you build. I really like your building style. Looking forward to seeing more of your builds
The entire time this jouse was being built I was imaging sims 4 executives debating whether they should create a yt channel to critique this build as revenge for all the truthful commentary we have been getting 😂
Honestly I really like tour builds. I'm horrible at this myself and too lazy to look up how to do it better 😂 I love little, cozy spaces. It pains me that we didn't get proper tiny bed dedicated to this pack - I'm always forced to use bunk beds. Definitely more please
Do builds with just base and one pack like base, cottage living, etc. That sounds like fun. That way, if someone doesn't have a pack, they can wait until you do one with that pack
Youll be happy to know that i have a big patch of lavender in my yard! Sonetimes ill put a handful on a cookie sheet and put my oven at like 120°F (48°C) and it makes the whole house smell amazing and dries out the lavender for decoration
ok but with my newcrest world, i build it up over generations and each new generation moves into a new plot of land an builds their own house there, i love playing with newcrest that way
I literally haven't used Newcrest since I first got the sims 4. I'm not a builder and I also cba to download builds from the gallery to fill the world. It isn't even that pretty of a world either
I also don't like a lot of clutter in my builds. I'm more a function over form sort of girl. I try to have an idea of the sims who will live there and then build the house. So, the homes seem a bit more personalized. That being said, I suck at building so I don't do it that often, I just end up getting frustrated with the glitches.
yeah i never live in newcrest because it's not just my house i'd have to build, it's a building for every lot, or i'd have to go through the gallery to find stuff to put there. and i just cba. honestly, i think what the sims team should've done was make the buildings be community stuff. libraries, museums, clubs, etc., and then leave a couple empty lots for building houses. that would've been better than just an empty world
I stole a posh trailer and Satanic church to spice up that world. I only have Get Famous & camping & kitchen packs. Eager to get pets & city living. Your overshares cheered me after the latest update complicated my dl mods/cc & pissed me off. Thank you. LOVE lavender, never too much.

I personally like that Newcrest has many lots and I wish that all neighborhoods start out completely empty. I know that I'm not the only player who prefer this. But I also know that not all players want this. That's why I wish EA would give us the option to start the game with completely empty lots or at any point afterwards. It's a pain in the butt to evict every household and demolish every lot. I just want a one click, one and done deal. I also think the player should determine the income of each household, without using cheats. Because I think their household income is part of the household's story. Many of my households are based off of fictional characters and some of those characters are rich. I like to pretend that these characters are living an alternate reality. Whatever the reason, I just think it's something that they player should determine.
well this house is really nice! I like it. But for me, if i use glass roof, even are always "short", i don't know how to say that in english. It bugs me when they overhang, it looks weird
Copying is the best to learn, not only for individuals but also for societies that want to catch up to the rest of the world (well, specifically the Western world in terms of technology and level of civilization) 😅
Okay, I get that you “copied” off of google. And I have a deep hatred for building in general nevermind tiny homes BUT. You’ve got me debating trying them again 😂
beautiful build, I like how it turned out you got me laughing with the saggy reference dunno if i can say that word in comments in UA-cam land lol. as always your sense of humour always make me laugh and you might have swayed me into maybe buying the kits at some point. You should get commission for that for sure you'd be rich.
sometimes I forget satch can actually build because of the depressing builds he makes for his challenges

Saaame! I prefer non-cluttered builds as half the time I can’t see what the Sims are doing.
I also prefer non-cluttered builds, which makes the Sims 4 build mode disappointing because 99% of it is useless clutter.

Since it's a small home I would've used the counter top oven and stove. Would make more sense. That's a great build btw!!!
That was fun and interesting to see your thought process as you went along
Not cheating at all! Its definitely inspirational. I do it all the time and trust me my builds never finish like the original inspiration 😅😅
