This video from 2005 explains comb filtering using both acoustic and electronic examples. You'll learn what causes comb filtering, why and how to avoid it, and hear how it sounds.
Spot on! Thank you for teaching me something new (to me) and practical today. I've just received my ES-9038PRO DAC last week and unbelievably, the 'spaciousness' 3D effect of voices and instruments became substantially much clearer. Next is to deal with these pesky room reflections, including bass traps. Which is your subject matter expertise. I'll be back for more education from your esoteric channel for sure. Please keep up the good work! It is appreciated.
Thank you so much for this video, Doug (Ethan & co). I’ve learned SO much from your videos (and writings) throughout the years! 🙏❤️🔥 You are “da top Doug” 😎
I stopped using a subwoofer in my studio years ago when I discovered it was causing comb filtering in the mids and highs. Wasn't worth it for the even low end. Have to admit I didn't try moving the sub though.
@@Tazmanian_Ninja something to do with boundary interference. I'm not an acousticon mat. I didn't say I understood what was happening just that it was happening. My solution was to stop using the sub. You can test yourself with room eq wizard.
Very informative, and the older production value was a charming trip back in time
Thanks!
The "Faux Stereo" makes me feel like I'm wearing headphones! One of the craziest audio phonemonen I've experienced!
Audio fundamentals are evergreen. Thanks for reposting this!

Would love to hear why it did so, if you’d like to please elaborate?
