I really don’t understand the people who buy these types of RCS. The parts availability is good money first come out but then after a year if it doesn’t sound good, you’re out of luck. And also that’s a lot of money you could buy a used X max for that much.

From my experience with zd racing and breaking the plastic A arms like that. I've found it's not the plastic. It's the hinge pins bending easily and when they bend they break the plastic. I order better metal pins from different racing cars and make them work. Helped a ton
Been waiting for this one Kev! Looks like a good truck! Maybe finally a company is making a real 7075 chassis? The lamppost was really brutal though, in my opinion no one should take that as a durability test yet, but we will see. With a few upgrades this could be amazing.
saw someone that tested to bash a tesla in similar fashion going to fast in a roundabout jumping over the curbs and a ditch ending up in a slope crashed to a lamp post. not eaven a tesla can survive that beating.
Hi Kevin my wife wants to get a tesla I told her not before we get a divorce I love her really but if she gets a tesla then needs must lol how's you doing buddy love the vit n love the truck's colour scheme keep up the good work with the vids there ace
I grabbed a roller and threw in a legit HW max6 1650 combo and I love it, for what it is. My only complaint is the body is made of very brittle plastic. Basically only gorilla tape and edging holding the back half of mine together. Needs reinforcements for sure. Working on that, but honestly it’s more of a novelty. I bash more with my other trucks that are made for it. Light truck and it jumps great, just have to land properly…every time. Looks awesome!
Looking to see if you had a ARRMA TYPHON 4x4 3s before can you show me any upgrades for this buggy electric is a 1/8 scale , please thank you very much
Love the ZD racing brand, I have 3 for the price of one name brand! I can't afford Arma or Traxxas. I've never had that much trouble getting parts. They take a pretty good sh@t kickin'. Good speed, good jumps, my dog chases and bites it, smashes it and tosses it around everywhere. **You need to shim the play in the diff shafts on all ZD or you will smoke the centre diff or diffs. The only time I killed one is when I misjudged and ran into a soccer post like Kev. If you run directly into something over half speed it will break. It can cartwheel pretty dang good without sbapping. I'm very happy with my ZD racing toys and my dog loves them too!
Steering seems to have some delay/lag. Seems unstable when braking, or is it the setting? €668 on sale(?) on Banggood is quite expensive i think. I got a Fireteam for €80 more and that one's a killer rig.
I wonder if the LED program card works with that esc. Sort of strange that the LCD box doesn't though. I've used mine with rtr escs and even with a Hexfly HEX10.
I think that was the worst possible crash. So other than the body, I think it looks good durability wise. With the way it is tuned. I would say it is more of a really rough wooded area and mud basher. The suspension and slow but strong steering and brakes makes me think that is the area to really find out how good it is.
On a serious note Kev. I would consider redoing your course to encapsulate e commerce . No money for stock upfront required. There’s a guy online that sells framed pictures. The buyer buys it from his store and the printers print and ship the item! Amazing. He never touches the picture.
I thought the steering looked a little slow on the bench but I have to wonder if they de-tuned the esc to help with longevity. It does look like it needs some adjustment on the steering brakes and acceleration. But seriously, driving a basher full tilt boogie into a lamp post? Yeah, I don't know that any of the other brands would have survived.
If this was a 4-500 dollar car I would buy it all day long. But i bash hard and like being able to run to the hobby shop 10 minutes away and get what I need and not only that, I take a lot of my cars camping with me and like being able to get parts at any local hobby store.
man the worst part of living in the us is you cant get certain rc cars like this one i have been looking at something like the xmaxx and this is perfect but of course it cant be shipped to the US
Hey Kev you have your program wire for your program box reversed in the ESC the same thing happens to me until I reverse the switch and flip it the other way into the ESC it'll work it takes a couple of seconds but it will once you plug it in it has to collaborate hope this helps
8:45 you hit the pole with the rear right wheel, span and hit the front right wheel, then landed on the front left wheel But the rear left wheel is the one that broke?!?!?
Hey Kevin my son and I are starting to get into RC in part because of your videos he was blown away by your 205mph attempts ( his jaw dropped when I showed him the video) and you are absolutely right getting into this hobby is an absolute blast and it’s helping get me out of the funk I’ve been in for the past year. the bigger trucks in this video look like an absolute blast, for us due to space constraints we are doing smaller scale 1/18 & 1/16 scale and are going out for our first rip today ( slash/Teton & bronco) so far I have meet the friendliest people😁 keep sending them to the moon 🤣
Welcome to the hobby, it's an amazing super fun activity to get into... You mentioned the 1/16 scale type, which is a good way to get into it. I would check out the hyper go line or hosim 1/16. They are really good durable little cars. And only $150 or less on Amazon
Hey buddy with the Teton remember coda racing sold on Amazon. I've used a good deal of thier parts on our teton and they are absolutely great parts and don't cost much. Biggest issues I've had are the axles (upgraded to coda racing aluminum) and arms breaking (get the RPM arms). The diffs aren't shimmed well so if you have any problems with diffs you tube how to shim em. Aside axles and arms ours has been great. Welcome to the hobby, its great 👍
Hey Kev, I'd love to see another video featuring the cheap Rovan gas RC car from a couple years ago, there's nowhere you really see something like that getting the Talbot test. I feel like the metal chassis on the Rovan would be much stronger than others due to the top bracing forming a sort of tub shape. Maybe take it out in a price comparison video to other gas RC cars? Thanks!
Just getting into the hobby, I’ve got a 1/16 slash and the kids have some rando Chinese amazon deals (both really good starter cars IMO for ~$80ea). Looking at something bigger in the future and I’m still leaning X-Maxx
I thought it looked great, shocks were awesome and looked to cushion the landing beautifully. I think the impact was pretty tough going and could have been unlucky to break it, and could have possibly broken many other make rc's. Maybe a re test once rebuilt. For me I think slightly over priced for what you get comparing to the arrma and xmaxx, but looks a fairly good car.

Hay kev the program card you need is the hobbywing cheap one has 3 tables on it as it's for the ezrun SC and quickrun verisons you the one you was using is for the racing hobbywing ones hope that clears it up

You might be able to use the smaller hobbywing program card that comes with esc's, that one somehow supports more esc's. For example on my kraton 8s the bigger one you use in this video doesn't work, but the smaller one that comes with esc's does. You just have to ignore the settings on the program card as they might be different but just check the manual which should have a table with the settings for that specific esc, so use that instead.

I see that a lot with maxx4s bulkheads... (referencing the guy who's busted many xmaxx chassis's), people all over facebook touting how indestructible they are. I've had mine a bit over a year and I'm on bulkhead 10, 6 lower arms and 5 rear diff pinions. Most of which on 6S. Haven't broken a chassis yet though. Looks like the ZD broke the rear arm when it landed on the ground after hitting the pole.
