- Building and restoring horse drawn vehicles takes lots of time, but here is the complete version of rebuilding the historic Okanagan mud wagon body, with all new wood and almost half of the irons duplicated, which were missing. The complete detailed process can be seen in the mud wagon playlist. Thanks

I have an idea for the perfect Engels Coach Shop video, in my opinion.
Engels Coach building the first, one of a kind, Engels Coach from scratch.
Forget how this company usually did this, or did that, just built one from the ground up EXACTLY the way Dave wants to build it. Whatever his favorite type of wagon, favorite wheels, favorite seats, only the best of the best. Who else on Earth is there that could even consider such a thing?
He already has great content, but I would LOVE to see a wagon designed and built by Dave, from scratch.
There has to be one ☝🏻out there somewhere...👀
I love when he dragged all that scrap metal and rotten firewood in to start the project. "This is a Mud Wagon", No Dave, that is a pile of junk, YOU may see a mud wagon, but we sure don't. lol
I have been watching long enough to know it was GOING to be a Mud Wagon when he got done, but that beauty existed only in the eye of the Artist that breathed life back into that wreck.
Really makes you appreciate 19th Century engineering and craftmanship. I'm glad you decided to return this stagecoach back to its original configuration.
That was a for sure enough compilation of a long time blindman build. I think everyone who watches this needs to go through your play list and see what all you did and the changes you had to redo and exactly why. It was awesome. You're doing what History books should be written the same way. Stay safe, keep up the great videos and the fun you manage to have around there. Fred.
Yes, I watched all his videos, it was amazing.
I'm looking forward to the Mud Wagon as rolling stock, PURE CRAFTMANSHIP!!!
Beautiful 👍truly impressed again
Hi Dave, and Diane, This was a great project to watch as it went along, so thank you very much for putting this synoptic version together, and see it all one more time in one sitting. I enjoyed the work you did on the jeep earlier this week. I honestly KNOW that we would watch ANYTHING you put into video. I'm always in a better mood afterwards. Thank you for sharing, and take care.
That waggon has been the most satisfying series I've watched.
Very cool to see it all condensed into one video, thanks!
I went into the auto dealership for new tires and got a new truck just like this guy.
The family has a majestic mud wagon. Looking forward to seeing her make her debut.
I love the way that you combine old world craftsmanship with power tools. I can't wait to see the completed product.
David, excellent video on this Mud Wagon reconstruction. We enjoy watching all your videos… be safe and take my friend…
Thanks Dave
Absolutely Incredible 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Nic to re-live it all again Kind Regards from Liverpool England
Remember all the process of you building that waggon very nice to see the sped up version of the whole thing again. Well done looking forward to see it all finished.
This is the Emperor of all mud wagons, never to be duplicated by the Emperor of Wheel and Carriagerights. 🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅✅✅✅✅🫵🏼
I like watching the individual episodes but the readers digest version is just fun to watch. A couple design thoughts or questions. 1. Why have a hinged gate if it doesn't close? 2. If the gate did close, wouldn't that removable seat be best situated in the back row?
That way, it could be removed for cargo or large trunks. If the third row was occupied, the gate could be dropped for luggage as designed?
One sees something new in the retelling, I haven’t noticed the big wheel hubs in the individual episodes they’re there tucked in the background.
It is a pleasure to watch the facets of your work.
True craftsmanship.
Just can't imagine one person having so many skills!
Speaking for myself, you like taking the time to craft, and I like taking the time to watch. On the other hand, it was fun watching it all take place in one video.
Thanks for showing this! I would love to see this mud wagon behind a team as it once would have been.
I was watching a.1940's western on TV and the coach was a mud wagon. I recognized it immediately from your build videos.
This deserves to become one of the multimillion view videos of the future. 👍
Dave. Thank you for continuing to document what you do. Resist the urge to not show us something because you've already documented it multiple times before. There is a great need today simply to watch someone complete a task or project. It's therapeutic especially for those of us in corporate jobs where we rarely get to see the results of our efforts.
The fabrication of the turnbuckles. WOW!!!
I had forgotten a few of those steps. But what a beauty she turned out to be!! 😅
Jaw dropping marvelous craftmanship!!
This is a Great Reminder of how Amazing & Awesome that your work is!!!!
Thank You Sir !!!
🎉🎉 Faaantastic video , love ALL the blogs , THANK YOU SIR DAVE AND LADY DIANE. 🎉🎉
WOW! I'd forgotten how much work, and for how long you've been working on the mud wagon, Dave! Truly an outstanding project!
My thoughts exactly When I saw that 'bucket of rusted parts' it was a reminder of where ypu (and we) had started, something easily forgotten by those of us 'following along.'
Yeah, compare the state of what came into the shop, to what is going out.
WOW!!!!!!!
I continue to be amazed by the extensive range of skills and knowledge that you can apply to so many different and difficult projects.
Thanks for sharing I watched the whole series but couldn't help but watch the comp
That is absolutely one of the best videos I've ever watched,
Amazing Sir. Start to finish and the editing too Diane.
Love to see this painted and pinstriped, Dave
Beautiful. Can't wait to se the finished wagon.
The amount of IP, intellectual property, involved with a lot of your projects is unbelievable.
I can’t wait to see the next installment.😊
Synapse well worth the watch, refreshes all the episodes
Your you tube channel is one of, if not the most well organized channels on UA-cam. If something catches my fancy, it is very simple to find more information on the subject and take a deep dive into it. You have organized it in much the same manner you accomplish your work in. You puzzle out what it should look like, and then use your vast skill sets to figure the best way for you to get it done, and then do it. Much appreciated out in UA-cam viewer land!
It was great seeing this build again.
When I saw those first shots of the wagon, my first thought was that Dave should rebrand himself as the "Wagon Wizard"! How many people do you know who could perform such a radical transformation as this?
I was thinking The Wizard of Joliet.
Really enjoy these videos after watching each video
I enjoyed following along week by week.Seeing it go from a pile of junk, to a beautiful mud wagon in one episode really hit home on how big a job it was. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed this whole series and I'm glad you post these synoptic versions. They are a fun review of the process. In the first video of the series when you brought in the pallet with all the parts and bits I laughed so hard... I said "oh man Dave what have you done?!" I have to say... you sure turned that pile of parts into a incredible series of sleuthing out what this thing looked like and then bringing that to life. Thanks to you and Diane for making these videos happen. Looking forward to the conclusion!
I love when a plan comes together. It sure went smoother in this video!
Thanks Dave, your time on the puter is greatly appreciated
That was a nice compilation for those who missed watching it grow. You are a Sherlock Holmes of wagon reconstruction. As always a marvelous job. I am eagerly awaiting seeing it all together and finished rolling out of the shop. Hopefully you can get some video of it in full regalia under true horsepower.
What a craftsman. Top of his trade.
All my life, I've known that "C-clamps" are "Carriage-clamps" and that round-headed bolts with a square neck are "carriage bolts," but this makes the names mean something. Also, watching you fashion exact replicas of missing parts from bar stock: your range of skills is an inspiration.
Dave’s SynoptyVision channel 🎉
What a great idea, step by step “follow’A’long” series and recap video ❤
This man is a craftsmanship what is doing at every step along the way
Congratulations on 200k subscribers!!👍 Well deserved for one of the best craftsmen on the planet!! Greetings and best wishes from sunny Florida.
Снимаю шляпу перед ВЕЛИКИМ МАСТЕРОМ.Страна должна гордиться Вами.Спасибо за историю.
С огромным уважением к Вам. .М. Иващенко.
I like to watch the the weekly videos and the explanation of what is being done and how you made the decision. But this style of video is great to share with friends they see the completed product and their intrest is ignited
Always a pleasure to watch you work. You made my day just a little bit better. Thanks!
It is astonishing the range and quality of the blacksmithing skills you possess Dave. Let alone the carpentry skills. Watching this video somehow emphasises the range of different skills, and also the range of tools you have built up in your amazing workshop. I was delighted to watch this synoptic video. Well worth the editing. Thank you.
Dave I watched all your videos of you building the mud wagon It was so interesting Thank You
Good to see it all over again in synoptic form. Cannot wait to see the thorough braces with the leather finished and the coach mounted on the undercarriage. Always a pleasure to watch your videos each week. Hello to Mrs. E. May God bless!
I am also enjoying seeing this a second time and I really love the synoptic version, too !! Thanks Dave, you definitely are the wizard of it all !! Blessings to you and your bride !!
Thanks for the cool synopsis.
Love the “synoptic” view. When you drove what was left of the wagon in I thought of a new channel. Carried by the Smithsonian channel: Wagon Disaster’s - Today you will witness how an absolute wreckage of a coach and its resurrection is lead by lead investigator Dave Engels.
I had forgotten how bad this thing was when you dumped it on the shop floor in the first episode. Your client certainly had a lot of faith in you. Obviously well founded. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thanks for another great video.
And it never ceases to amaze me how Your seemingly quick and rather approximate measurements all end up to fit perfectly, and all together assemble to an absolutely "square" and perfect construction...
You make it look so deceptively easy ... :)
Best regards
This gentleman is a true master at his craft.so much knowledge to be shared.totaly enjoy watching your work.
This vid shows what an ENORMOUS project this mud wagen was... and so many more details are in the background.
Fully enjoyed this compilation. Enough details, real highlights to.. well, makes ya want to watch the whole series again.
So much skill, so much experience, and the patriarchal goodness to share with everyone. Documentation for the ages.
Thank you so much Mr. Engels, for letting us watch such amazing builds. Can only imagine how much satisfaction they bring you.
Also, making a copy of an existing part.. that takes so much finesse. Filigrane Arbeit, viel Respekt.
That Mud Wagon was a real Basket Case!
I've always been a synopsis kind of guy. Great way to review and relive projects. Anxious to see the chosen finish. 👍👍👍
Hello Dave and Diane, great synoptic video. Looking at the video, I forgot how long it took you. But It doesn't show how much work and time was taken and all the thoughts and ponderings to get every individual item done and how many times each piece was adapted to get the end result. I know that's the idea of the video but to all the people who watched every episode I'm sure they all know how much work went into that brief video. Thank you. Regards Richard 🇬🇧
Incredible
Synoptic...👀 Sounds like something you get at a bar...
Give me a shot of Synoptic and a beer...🥃🍺👈🏻...
I think it's amazing that from this pile of rubble you can recreate a wonderfully functional vehicle.
It would be really great to see videos of the wagons you have built actually being pulled along by some nice matched horses.
I've been following you since the Borax Wagon Build.
Yaptığın her şey ayrı ayrı sanat eserleri ve bu ziyafet için çok teşekkür ediyor, sana ve ailene sağlıklar diliyorum.
Ellerin dert görmesin. Türkiye’den sevgiler..
you do amazing work, I would enjoy working with you . I have always liked blacksmithing and woodworking, so I love the combination this restoration provides
BTW....that sure is a pretty power hammer you got there.! as always, great video and great intro and outro..
Your level of skill and workmanship is truly impressive! It is a rea pleasure watching your videos, both the individual programs and the full recap of the process. Thanks for your efforts!
truley enjoyed this.the metal work was a treat to see.bless you
Once again thanks for the video.
🇬🇧 If I were once more a
school pupil I would gladly work Saturdays unpaid in such a place.
I watch these to feel the world still has wholesome parts.
These short films are relaxing (Someone else is doing the work) and I never fail to be impressed by what a couple of folks can achieve by
working intelligently and with patience. Even if it's sorting a woodpile - its the same !! The workshop can congratulate itself !
(from a UK woodworker)
Just one question !
What is a 'Mud Wagon"?
Amazing what you have built from an incomplete pile of parts.
Incredible summary video of a lot of research, fabricating, and custom work to rebuild the mud wagon from "trash."
I can watch you work all day. Your attention to detail is beautiful. Keeping the nuts oriented together, just beautiful. Thank you for your videos.
Excellent condensing of a heap of beautiful work. Thanks Dave
I think it's amazing this guy knows where all the parts go like it's a piece of furniture from Ikea
Sehr feine Handwerkskunst. Ich habe die letzten Monate jeden Schritt im Wiederaufbau verfolgt und das hier war eine fabelhafte Reise durch vile Gewerke. - Wundervoll.
It was an awesome series I enjoyed, thank you!
You’re an amazing craftsman, artist and just get it done with what you have person. Getting pretty rare to see others like you.
Good stuff.
Thank you.
Amazing work, I'm jealous!!
Great job Dave love everything you put on you tube
Clever way to create the crescent dimple! And the use of packers as precise spacers. Ran across them and bought a package. As good as set up blocks and much less expensive. Fortunate you knew where the studs are - it looked like the tile tan all the way up. Hopefully the other side of the wall was exposed. I missed one bit: attaching the top to the supports. The one inside the triangle can be a challenge for clearance.
What an artist.
Very beautiful to see your talents!!
You are so inspiring. I kinda wish I had seen you during my formative years. But at 65…
amazing
Even though I watched this in each individual stage of it's original build, its great to see the synoptic version of it. I'm jujst as amazed now as I was watchin it all in the begininng even seeing it again is a pleasure. thanks for doing it and for sharing. ECF
I always enjoy watching your videos, sir! I live in Belarus, one of the parts of the former Soviet Union, and we do not have such masters as you on this topic of antique wagons. They were just different and not so technically difficult in the old days) I express my admiration and respect to you! Sergei
Incredible! Thank you for passing on your knowledge and keeping a valuable trade alive... I have enjoyed pretty well every video you have published. Your skills in so many different trades are admirable and I can see why you love the coach trade so much.
I watched every video at times a few times. I was so impressed of how precise you made this. The family I am sure will be thrilled with the finished product.
I love to watch you work Dave.
