  • Hakuba Goryu is one of ten resorts covered on the Hakuba Valley Pass. Linked to Hakuba 47 and accessible by the free shuttle buses Goryu should definitely be a resort on your Hakuba hit list.
Goryu has some great pistes terrain and access to some fantastic tree skiing. However, if you want to access the trees at linked resort Hakuba 47 you will need to register at the 47 ski school and attend a short safety lecture.
Goryu offers 18 courses and has 14 lifts, some high-speed quads, and others older, slower chairs. Goryu also has lots to offer as a family destination as it has a run to suit the whole family.

What’s up man? Looks like a pretty cool place, I can’t get over how much different your currency is from ours... everything over here would cost like 20, not 2000 :) Looks like we may get some Nov riding in this year so pretty stoked on that as our season usually doesn’t begin till Dec / Jan... wohooo

Hey rifelife ... Goryu was a really cool resort. Had some of the steeper runs in Hakuba, just a shame the trees are mostly out of bounds. I completely get you! Feels like Monopoly money to me 😂

We are visiting Hakuba during late january. Which one of the Hakuba ski areas would you recommend? And thanks for the awesome video!

Persason you will have a great time! I’d recommend visiting a few of them. Getting between the resorts is free using the buses if you buy the Hakuba Valley pass.. powder days, head to Cortina or Tsugaike.. I think Goryu and Hakuba 47 is a good option as you can ride at both in the same day. If you want to get away from crowds then Sanosaka is one of my favourites...check my channel for more detailed videos on each resort. Be sure to keep firing any questions my way 🏂

What are the resorts like there? Ammenities etc and is it possible to do a room tour

    • @Simonjburgess
      @Simonjburgess  Рік тому

Happo One is the closest to a proper resort village. Goryu and 47 are much quieter… Cortina has the famous hotel at the base. It really depends on what you are after? Sadly no room tour as I’m not in Japan

Thank you for this great video!
    1) I wanted to know what is the price of the package to ski Hakuba 47 and goryu for the whole day in usd? As well as the general price of daily ski hire there. If I understood correctly they sell a package for the 2 domains?
    2) What is the best value for money for a ski domain with a lot of pistes in this area?
    3) Are hakuba 47 and goryu enough for the day for an intermediate skier?
    4) in End of April and mai there is a lot of snow for sure or before April is better? Because I want to go in end of April.
Thank you for your help! 🙂

Hi Tulipe Blanche thanks for watching. The best value way to get your lift pass is probably to buy a Hakuba Valley Pass for the duration of your stay. There passes include the transport between the resorts and allow you to ski at 10 local resorts.
Ski hire prices can vary depending on the quality of the equipment. Rhythm have a good reputation so it may be worth looking into their prices.
Yes, plenty to do at Goryu and 47 for a couple of days. You will need to take a course if you want to ride in the tree areas!
Expected close date is May 6th. This is obviously snow dependent. The best conditions for powder will be found during Feb, but there should be snow through April with spring riding conditions.
      Hope that helps

hi there! insightful vid! which ski resort/mountain in hakuba will u recommend for kids to learn skiing and snowboarding 1st time ( and also great for intermediate riders for myself). and where is the best place to stay? we are heading there around 10-12 march, not sure if there is still ample snow. thanks :)

Hey, thanks for watching! First of all I would direct you to my website where I have a guide to the Hakuba Valley and the ski resorts there. You can click through each resort to get a good idea/feel for them. You can find it here: simonjackburgess.com/blog/a-guide-to-the-hakuba-valley .... I would say that for me I would head to Happo One or Goryu/47 as a beginner intermediate. Both resorts have decent beginner / intermediate terrain. Happo has an international ski school, Evergreen... I would base yourself close to Happo and the Village and use the free shuttles to explore different resorts. Hope that was helpful. Simon

@@Simonjburgess hey simon thanks for getting back. yes! your website helps alot! just a headache now as i find the transport/shuttle bus from airport to hakuba in mid march is limited. probably have to take the painful way to travel from airport to tokyo stn to take shinkansen to nagano and transfer to bus. thanks again

@@bern83 The train will be a experience though! Look into having your luggage sent direct from the terminal in Tokyo to your accommodation. This should help make the train travel easier.
