i saw the vault bracing in the church. my head said earthquake support like california. and then you did answer the question yes. that is what it is. i think these older villages have too much to lose with seismic damage. it is a never ending effort to maintain the history that is embedded in those stones. and then... does every little town have a street named garibaldi? i know he is an historical figure. just seeing the repetition. thank you for your tours. they bring a peacefulness into me.
Ellen, what a pleasure reading from you - indeed it was quite hit hard in the last earthquake there I must say... a LOT of reconstruction I could see around. Often it's very hard to preserve evertyhing and to mantain them indeed... Oh lol, yes Via Garibaldi, Via Roma, Via Vittorio Veneto and Via Cavour (or you can change it to Piazza) are the common ones for sure... Add to it Via Umberto I (our king back then) and "People's square" and you have it all) Oh and I didn't try the bridge -not my cup of cake
Дорогая Елена, я всегда рада видеть Вас снова. Должен сказать, действительно очень тихий городок и не такой полный туристов, как мне хотелось бы. Желаю вам хорошего воскресенья и до скорой встречи
A beautiful old town situated in a picturesque landscape, a lot of greenery all around, which give it more charm, great 👌 Ciao, Riccardo, you must know that I watched your last video, although I didn't any comment, sorry 😅 Have a nice Sunday, my friend, all the best ❤️
Ciao Ioana, oh don't worry, I know we get to chat here so I'm always happy to read that. Indeed, a nice quiet (and especially very green) town Sellano , very charming I agree) Nice place, good memories of that day. Wish you also a nice Sunday Ioana and a big big ciao (I was today ina VERY crowded place to film it and it really drained me a bit)) But i'll soon show
Umbria has an appeal that is hard to describe; there is something about the layout of these old hill towns, the pride of its inhabitants, the stonework, the surrounding scenery, that’s just magical to me. Plus, the rich Etruscan history is extremely interesting. What a great town and a great walk Ric! How bad was this one affected by the earthquakes? I seem to remember that Spello was hit pretty bad, which makes the old appearance of the buildings all the more impressive, as some of them are not, in fact, actually old! Another cool thing is that some hiking trails go right through town, so the streets are part of the trail system, you can see a trail marker on the downspout at 26:44!
Huuuuugo, indeed, a region I've started to know and love for sure Umbria. It was quite heavily hit actually from what I read :/ A nice discovery Sellano - perhaps a little too reconstructed, but it kept some areas (the one when I took the thumbnail for instance) quite intact
Grazie Clark - Today and yesterday I went to a sea-town not so far away... so many people, it was almost insane due to my usual videos of silent towns. But of course nice - will try to mix a bit if I can manage
Querida Yolanda, gracias.
Another beautiful town in Central Italy, surrounded by greenery mountains. A lot of people outside also. The major attraction is the Tibetan bridge. It’s a tourist attraction indeed with a lot of people watching and climbing. You can see the bridge from different places in the town. Thanks for the tour, I enjoyed it.
Ciao Esther, quite a lot of people around and that made my happy actually. A pretty tidy town. I didn't try the bridge, but as you said, it probably added to make the town more popular for sure... it's rather remote where it is. Thanks to you and "Buona Domenica" as we say
@@StillWandererAfter I had posted my comments I did some research on google and found out this bridge was just open this year and connects Sellano to Montesano. It’s the highest Tibetan bridge in Europe. Before it opened a lot of people were eager to climb it. I had a better view of the bridge on google.
Beautiful drone presentation as the town looks amazing , green surroundings are so picturesque . Not only garden of peace but whole town is peaceful . Panorama is amazing . Best wishes Dear Ric . I always enjoy your wonderful vlogs . Some parts of the town are very silent and they are amazing , very lovable .❤❤❤
Raj, always a pleasure and "grazie" as always for your kind words. You know how much I love silent towns so.... this was truly near my heart indeed. And it's true, very very "green", greener than other parts. A bit tough to reach perhaps as a town, but worth it. Best wishes to you and soon the new walks from this summer
Nice tour of Sellano, Grazie Riccardo 👍🏻❤️🇮🇹 And I wouldn’t be brave enough to cross that Tibetan bridge 😆looks scary Enjoy your weekend and see you next time 😊
Glad you enjoyed it also Sellano dear Angela) Ahhhh.... also, not my cop of tea, so I just watched it from a distance) Enjoy also your weekend dear Angela and Grazie as always
Loved the walk as always! Loved the chicken. He/she was very curious about you. She seemed inquisitive but not very talkative. lol😃 The suspension bridge was beautiful. I would like to see it in person but there's about a 100% chance I would never walk across it. I got a bit queasy just looking at it. Did you walk on it? The surrounding countryside around the village was beautiful. Anyone walking across that bridge could take in all of that beautiful scenery which would be a benefit. I always say it, but I also thought the drone footage was stunning. Do you have a favorite of all of those you have done? .... Have a wonderful Sunday.
Ciao dear Deana, lol remember about that chicken. I am sure she/he was interested in the huge camera set I have attached now)) Inquisitive she was fore sure LOL) Not my cup of cake as well the tibetan bridge , I liked seeing it from outside, but not too keen on that to be honest... very beautiful area indeed, SO green, lush even... A favourite is tough... but the 2 towns I really adored were Fara in Sabina and ... Labro. Stunning these two... don't ask me why...I just felt great there for some reasons. A belated wish to you too Deana, and wish you a nice week ahead now
Mio Dio! There's no way that I'd go on that Tibetan bridge. I don't like heights. Although it would definitely be beautiful seeing it from there. Maybe if the distance between the slats were smaller I'd consider it. (Did you walk the bridge, Riccardo?) But a peaceful beautiful town otherwise. Umbria is so green. Greetings from down under 🤗
Geraldine ciao! Ahh... no way also for me - it was nice looking at it from a distance) Nice town indeed... SO green agreed, greener than other parts. Not so easy to reach it by car though... but worth it for sure. A big ciao Geraldine - I?m starting the new walks for the summer (I was in Ponza last weekend))
So Sellano Is not that easy to reach? That means there won't be crowds to cross the bridge in summer. Looking forward to your new summer walks. Ponza sounds interesting. I'm hoping to be in Italy in December for the Christmas markets in the Trentino Alto Adige region.
quite remote indeed Geraldine - very nice streets in the middle of greenery and hills though, but quite a far destination this was. A LOT of bikers though around I could see .... Oh Ponza was nice... made a dusk walk there, so many people. As you know not my cup of tea but was nice nonetheless)) Ohhhhhhh I will go too maybe in Trentino in December! In case we must meet for a coffee then up there
Stroop, ciao, indeed,a rather mix of a town which had some very charming corners, then some others were a little empty, and all in all a very peaceful one yet it could appear like that. Agreed. Surely a pleasant walk that day with a few tourists around as well which helped a bit. "Buona Domenica" as we say

bellissimo
