The train isn't that fast. It's maximum speed is 80mph but it can't sustain that. But it's not that bad. You have to think of Snowpiercer as 1,001 engines, not cars, since every car moves itself.

How would they stop for supplies or mantinence, the perpetual drive of the train keeps them alive inside generating energy and keeping them warm, and as for supplies the train is self sufficient
