The biggest draw back to picking a GR86 over a BRZ is: Should you develop an engine issue; I personally would rather have a Subaru Mechanic work on the motor... OVER a Toyota Mechanic. To put it bluntly, the BOTH have a SUBARU Motor.
I appreciate your detailed review. This car has quickly grown on me, and I’m considering getting one. It’s a good balance of having a sleek and attractive appearance but not overboard, while also being a fun sports car that is practical as a daily driver. I have to test drive one!
Just go buy it. Completely amazing! Honda S2000 level performance with comfort & daily usability. If anything happens to mine I would buy another something I’ve never done
Get the BRZ. Better sports car for everyday use and backroad carving. And just fyi in person, the BRZ looks better. Plus no markups, less common, and can be equally modded.
The Miata suspension is soft. It’s still lighter and to an average consumer might be more fun, but it doesn’t drive better than the GR and even some car enthusiasts prefer the GR.
I could easily see someone go either way on their preference! I am a Miata fan myself, and both cars offer aftermarket solutions to tune each car to their liking!
The BRZ and GR86 drive with a lot more precision than the Miata. By a mile. If you care about how the car responds to your inputs the twins beat the Miata no problem. But the Miata counters with top down fun, nicer interior, better sounding engine, less rev hang, better manual. I prefer precision myself and the extra practicality of the twins.
If they literally just made this car bigger, it could've been the mkV supra 😪 I know the current design has grown on people, and I'm happy people actually like it but yeah still a heartbreaker to me 😔
You’d be surprised how small the Mk V Supra is. Similar cars, but both unique in the own parts. I personally would have honed to see a Toyota powertrain in both cars
Bigger? I'm hoping you're talking about power output and not size dimensions. Because the whole point of this car was an 80's and 90's throwback to the AE86 and, in my opinion, to the S-chassis in terms of size and power. Almost every single new car is way oversized.
This car has a much longer wheelbase than a Supra. It also has a roomier cabin and back seats and a larger trunk. Your comment makes no sense. And if you want a larger car, buy a larger car!
and what is better gr86?😂 I advise you to better prepare for the test, Subaru is lighter, faster, has an aluminum roof, Toyota does not and steering knuckles, stronger rivets, which increases body stiffness, stronger rear beam, even the audio system has a modern, more modern one, read about it, I have it and I know

I definitely recommend checking it out!

Great video, it’s a good stater sporty car . The MX5 has a high quality cabin and Bulletproof reliable engine , both great. ❤️
Agreed! Both are great cars! I prefer to drive the Mazda, but the practicality is there for the gr86

i got the 23 brz for msrp. toyota was tryna sell me a gr86 for 9k over msrp😂 no thanks
Looks are your opinion
Thanks for watching! let me know what you think!
you forgot to mention the hood is aluminum
put two cars next to each other and see which one has the nicer front, the Toyota front is 40 years old and the Subaru is mega modern and super sporty
I must prefer this turn signal to the “normal” one. It makes far more sense to me than the manual “click” of most turn signals.
why god

Flyin miata sway bars are a few hundred dollars. Problem solved.

Anyone interested in the twins go by one because they’re amazing sports cars! So pure on inputs & reactions. Btw I avg 29mpg of highway commuting
4:52 “there’s some dragon flies” 😂
I call it how I see it 😂
Great video
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Can I confirm if this is a 2023 or 2024 MT? From what I’ve seen, blind spot monitoring is only coming to the 2024 model 🤔
the premium model itself has blind spot monitoring in the twins so all years have it
It’s a 2023, the premium gets the blind spot monitoring

Incorrect on many things. The BRZ is slightly heavier according to the manufacturers. They both have the same aluminum roof.
@@bearclaw5115 do you want to bet? I'm writing seriously
take a magnesium and touch the roof of your Toyota if you think it's aluminum😂
I don’t think Toyota would say it’s Aluminum if it’s not.
so trust me, that's what they say in every program and salon, they say it's aluminum, that's why it's strange
@@jalopy_jeff well, you also said that the roof is aluminum
@@jalopy_jeff I can confirm it if you want, even across the ocean?😅
Mate this has all been done before lol. It's been out 2 years..
I unfortunately don’t choose when I get press cars! I just take a look at what I get!
Says patrickbateman7122 lmao, movies been out for decades bro, that name's been done before...

Nonetheless he did one of the better reviews on this car.
