Nice shot Paul. Good job you didn't walk further along the ridge though. That path is evil when it's clear and dry never mind when it's icy :-) Stay safe bud
@@paulcomptonpdphotography where you turned right after going up the hill from the carpark, you can continue to Devils Chair after Manstone Rock in your pic.
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Manstone Rock is where the Trig point is. The Devils Chair is the next outcrop north of that. The path passes through the middle but the part called the chair is west of the path but you have to look at it from the side to see it as a chair. This what I mean flic.kr/p/2jEkakf . You were close, but my point was that the path is an ankle breaker lol :-)
I am always happy to get out and enjoy the first snow of the season...but after 5-6 months it gets a little tiring...lol...continue to enjoy and have fun...greetings from a rather wet and soggy Nova Scotia today...
Definitely a sense of jeopardy Paul. It would be a treacherous area to be lost at night especially in those conditions. Lovely image though. Kind regards Rob
Great video Paul lol nanook of the north 😆 beautiful scenery tho mate with the old white stuff and the images were fantastic, stay safe and catch you soon 👊 📸
@@paulcomptonpdphotography how do you store all your images Paul? Do you have images from years ago and do you store them on hard drives dated with say the year and just print off favourites? I’m just wondering wat photographers do with all there images Cheers mate Mark
Some nice images there Paul, especially the first one of the tree taken on your mobile. 'Shiverstones' looked great in the snow. Here on the coast in North Wales I can't recollect having a frost yet but I did notice a little snow on the distant mountains yesterday. 👍👍
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Its not a place you can spend all day in but obviously the lighthouse is the main attraction and if the light is playing ball some excellent images are on offer. Sunset at this time of the year is around 4pm (mid December) and on a good day well worth a visit if you time it right.
I was the same, first snow of the year, out taking standing stones (local). Yesterday, total bust, rain, flat grey. Better weather this morning but humming and harring about boggy fields. Will go, just need another cuppa :-)
Hello and welcome to winter! we must be the only people in the world to get excited about snow! Fair play to you Paul for getting out in it in the name of photography. Yes I like your picture of the tree at the start I saw it on instagram too. Take care it's very slippery under foot...thank you...
You should try the Bridges Pub at Ratlinghope just down the road from where you was and see if you could park there over night and have a nice meal with a descent pint.
@@paulcomptonpdphotography ah you know yourself Paul, it doesn’t matter what you capture the image with, it’s all about being in the right place at the right time. If you do plan to come over to Ireland, definitely give me a shout.
I love your channel and content, and am a subscriber; however I must admit to finding this vlog a bit shocking. Were you travelling by yourself during this vlog? If you fall or injure yourself, who or what is the rescue mission? Apart from a head torch, what other safety measures did you have? Safety is paramount, one thing this latest vlog never touched on.
i was yes, i know my limits. this was not expected its why i drove there see how much snow then drove back down.. or you would of had a proper video if i was happy.. as it was i went back yesterday and it was all gone haha
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Fair enough guv. BTW, if I came across as being rude then apologies, there was zero attempt at being so. Perhaps you could dedicate a portion of an upcoming vlog to safety (I know that you and your good wife carry walke talkies, as shown on a previous vlog); just a suggestion. Regards
Lovely image of the tree - that'll justify your visit if nowt else. Your pronunciation of "Stiperstones" sounded more like "Sniperstones.", so if I were you I'd put camo-gear on next time you're up there.
Fantastic little vlog Paul did you have fun tho? You can’t beat a epic snow picture.what a stunning image
i did i was quite excited, but shame i did not feel confident on staying up there over night
@@paulcomptonpdphotography I wouldn’t dare stay over

The tree shot was awesome
and just on my phone in the van haha

i bloody do as you know haha.. i just wish i had the guts to stay over night but was worried i did not have enough fuel for a few days stuck in
Beautiful snow looks fabulous I don’t blame you for getting out, we don’t get much of the white stuff here in Ireland 😤 love the shot of the tree.
the tree was on my samsung phone through the van window on a small narrow lane haha
i hope to visit Ireland in 2021
