I used to live in the one cottage, without the sheep of course !!! Lived there as a baby in the 1950’s , no utilities whatsoever. ♥️I have several photos of the old place so love to see it again.♥️
Oh wow! Thank you for sharing that Shirley. I’d love to see those photos! Do you happen to have them in electronic form? (Assuming you wouldn’t mind sharing).
Such a lovely trip! Wonderful and exciting scenery, and interesting commentary. Thank you, Tommo! So many of us would never get to see and/or experience this if not for people like you! (From US)
Great looking place Those old houses/cottages would be great restored and turned into small hold farms nice peaceful and relaxing can't beat rural living good decent fresh air fresh food etc I'm from a farming background always loved farming the fresh air good fresh food etc despite farming being a seven days a week work life with no set meal times no day the same but i always found it relaxing As the saying goes if you enjoy your work it's not work I've always been an outdoorsy person from a very early age and I'm still an outdoorsy guy too this day unlike my much older 12 siblings ( half siblings and full siblings ) Anyway again great video continue enjoying ventures making and sharing your videos stay safe and well Godbless to you, myself and all the other good decent people
It is lovely over there. I’ve been back since I made the video. I would imagine restoration would cost a fortune but would be great if it was kept authentic. Hope you’re well and enjoying the weather at the moment!
Thankyou for such an interesting place. England is still so beautiful. Still miss the country lanes after 40 years away. If only we could turn back time. So many places I didn’t see, didn’t know were there. Thankyou again I appreciate it.
Beautiful video - some of the shots look like they could be paintings. My sister and I spent some time in north Staffordshire and I always wanted to visit Shropshire. Maybe someday. In the meantime I'm looking forwarding to more videos.
I’m defo no sheep expert but I think they’ve trashed the place 😂. Would be great if someone could actually bring the places back to life. A nice project!
that second house id have signs up saying id take care of it and keep it clean and do it back up clear the kitchen out put windows in from other side of the house ,and start like that ,got a cooker fire water all built in repair where needed
Thanks Lorraine, it’s a lovely walk. If you’ve not seen the walk route yet, here it is: www.broseleywalkersarewelcome.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Honeypot-and-Darley-Abandoned-Village.pdf
Hi Lorraine, I thought I’d responded to your comment but it appears not! I am going to do some research on more abandoned places. Some I’ve looked at are sealed off. There’s an abandoned hospital in Wales, I got all excited then found you couldn’t get to it. Will keep looking.
Abandoned village of Darley, first mentioned in 1342, by 1609 there were several cottages on the site of possibly a C13th hamlet. In the 1780s the nearby saggar works using local clay closed then riverside areas lost their importance when the railway arrived in 1862 and people moved away. By 1911 Darley was just two residences and it was no longer recognisable as a hamlet by the 1980s.
Shame but houses are now being vandalised by local youths. Both Fire places have been smashed up. Youths seen bringing sledge hammer have done so much damage there’s talking of knocking them both down.
Hi Lorraine, I’ve only just seen your comment, apologies. I’m not sure if there’s anything near Shrewbury but I am going to do some research. Keen to find another.
De eso y nada es mil veces mejor nada. Fuiste y solo les tomaste video super rápido por afuera. Para otra vez mejor ni filmes y mucho menos compartas el vídeo.

What's the location?
@@ZuluTango9 There is a bright side to that place being abandoned animals can thrive
Shirley any chance of a post code for the village

Many thanks for the kind words, Barry. It’s a great little find.
Open beautiful country of days gone by, stone houses so gorgeous, I'm in the US,
long admired these structures and history, thanks so much😊🙏
Glad you enjoyed it, Gabriel. It’s lovely around those parts.

Many thanks Laura. Shropshire does have some great places to visit. I very much enjoy living here. All the best.
I'm from Broseley! Never even heard of this old village! But went to Wiley Village Hall a lot as as kid!
Hi Liz. I heard about it by chance. It’s worth a look, lovely walk too.
hi!I'm always looking forward to it! From Japan
Aaah, once you let the sheep in that's it they're buggered. Beautiful places though and what a cool walk getting there. Nice one dude. Mark (Hereford)
Hey Mark, many thanks for the message. Looking forward to getting out a bit more further afield as soon as we can!
@@ZuluTango9 That's OK. What do you reckon with letting the sheep in? Buggers em doesn't it? Yeah, it'll be a right treat once we get underway again.

Where about is it
Is land expensive in this area?
I don’t think it is particularly, when compared to the South of England.

A great video and the old village but how many do we loose altogether and never seen again ,I think it's sad to see how there gently fall down
Sad indeed. I do need to go searching for more. There must be more in Shropshire.
Are there any abandoned houses in / near Shrewsbury
Hi Lorraine, I thought I’d responded to your comment but it appears not! I am going to do some research on more abandoned places. Some I’ve looked at are sealed off. There’s an abandoned hospital in Wales, I got all excited then found you couldn’t get to it. Will keep looking.
Great stuff. It's so strange, but once a place, town or business becomes economically unviable, the life can drain out of it very quickly.
Indeed. And it’s intriguing to see what’s left! Leaves a lot to the imagination.
Two sweet cottages in an idyllic setting. Oh to have the money to restore.
Indeed. Would be fantastic wouldn’t it.
Why was it abandoned?

You know what I expect what we’re mean of this village in years to come nothing before long trees will grow there the buildings will crumble to dust
Shame but houses are now being vandalised by local youths. Both Fire places have been smashed up. Youths seen bringing sledge hammer have done so much damage there’s talking of knocking them both down.
Очень интересно!! 😄👍👍👍
