  • San Diego’s gnarliest MTB trails, Teds reviewed and survived with my specialized turbo Levo 2022 3rd gen.
Trail reviewed is called Circus Circus, it’s a black diamond trail like most out there. Not for beginner mountain bikers. A lot of rock rolls, drops, and jumps.
The real Teds, not just videos of expert riders hitting gnarly jumps.
    Average mountain biker trail review.

San Diego has trails that will please all riders from the most beginner to those seeking more adventure. Experiences can be had from the coast, to the inland foothills to the wooded forests of Mount Laguna to the Anza Borrego Desert. Most riding areas in San Diego are a combination of singletrack and fireroads to provide connectivity. Head to Penasqutios Canyon and you'll find a variety of trails that are good for beginner and intermediate riders. Head to Black Mountain if you like the more rocky, technical trails with healthy dose of elevation, and go to Lake Hodges (San Dieguito River Park) if you're into a mix of the aforementioned riding areas. A little over an hour from downtown San Diego will get you to the Cleveland National Forest, featuring Noble Canyon, one of SoCal's best downhill trails. Cuyamaca State Park also offers some awesome singletrack and vistas as well.

That’s how I feel going to Tunnel 4 my first time during my 1st year on MTB. I’m going slow. I’m all by myself during a weekday.

Thanks, it quickly turned out to be chaotic jabbering on my part 🎉 and more of a fun vid instead of a review.

@@bikeempowerment there are some trails built in north county by some pro downhill racers and they make Teds look like a walk in the park lol. Not saying Teds is easy by any means. Everything there is a black and above for sure. Most of the trails I’m talking about are “secret” lol. I’m sure if you ask around in your circle, someone will know about the trails I’m talking about.

I think I’ll pass on the double black secret trails.

That big rock on circus is rollable but it’s definitely a surprise the first run down lol I’ve still yet to clean the section right after that though, it’s real tricky.

I hear you. Tricky and intimidating in spots. How long have you been riding Teds?

Just “ride YOUR ride” those trails look really nice.
I would just get to know them better and you should be able to clean some of those rough sections.

Teds is just west of Poway and east of the 15 freeway.

@@bikeempowerment Thanks for the areal. Fantastic. I moved a year ago from living on the preserve. Lots of fun trails there. Those bridges are awesome. I’ve not seen those. I saw the MTB sport start. The Mountain Bike Warehouse are my tenants in PB. I still ride my Gary Fisher full suspension bike they gave me. I’m too old for what you do. I’ll stick to your videos.

Thanks appreciate it. I am friends with guy on Strava that is 75 years old. We met once on the trail and he is a beast…
