What’s genuinely appalling is the level of incompetence that replaced him. They applauded getting rid of Nixon in DC, but Saigon, Cambodia, and Iran paid the price for it during the Ford and Carter administrations.

nope, they first got the Kennedy brothers, then Spiro Agnew, then Richard Nixon, then sabotaged Carter almost every single fcuking time for 4 years, then after their sixth warmongering candidate, HRC, failed to get elected, they did the same to Trump with regard to pulling troops out of conflict zones where they didn't have anything to do except secure and steal opium(Afghanistan), oil(Iraq, Syria and Libya) and wheat(Syria) by lying and not reporting what really happened and then 🏳️‍🌈miley🏳️‍🌈 the traitor got on the phone with his chinese counterpart in 2020 and 2021 to assure the chinese that he would tip 'em off if Trump was planning to attack them and, with all the others Perfumed Princes of the Pentagon™ did everything he could to sabotage POTUS 45 and got rid of him in the 2020 election. way to go Deep State™, way to go! 🏅🙄

One thing that is amazing is part of Nixon’s Presidential Library where you can play around with an interactive map of his diplomatic travels. He was abroad for a striking amount of time in 1973 and the first half of 1974 (resignation occurring during summer of 1974). Given how intensely he studied and prepared for his diplomatic trips, it is not unfair to say that he was too focused on his dream of creating “lasting peace “, and the politics of Washington ran him out because he stopped watching his back. To be fair to Washington, political enemies formenting a coup against the “Emperor” while he is abroad is a tale as old as time.

@JonathanLopezUT The kick around statement was made in 1962 when he lost the California governor's election. Nothing to do with Watergate or his Presidential resignation.

@raulpetrascu2696 It's a little more nuanced than that. He _did_ give orders to destroy Ellsberg's reputation, for example. And that lead to the Plumbers and the break-in to the psychiatrist's office. Which also got Hunt and zliddy inside the Whitehouse.
Technically, yes, I'd agree that Nixon's crime in the Watergate _break-in_ was as you said. But Watergate the _scandal_ was about many "seamy things" Nixon himself directed and then sought to keep secret, too.
Also, Magruder clearly indicated to Liddy at one point that he wanted the contents of the Democrat filing cabinet, indicating that _someone_ had given him that instruction. There is no evidence the instruction was actually given, or who it came from, but Magruder claimed it came straight out of the Whitehouse.
