Jenn, I LOVE that you organized your own baby shower. Sometimes tradition just doesn't make the most sense. Not everyone has a mother or a sister that is able to throw a baby shower for you... And I have always felt weird about the concept of burdening or expecting one's closest friends to take on planning such an event... Your shower was beautiful!!! :) Congratulations!!

I actually love this too! I depended on others when I got married. I was severely disappointed. (Not in a bratty way that had ridiculous standards …more like mom didn’t help until last minute just to criticize my husband’s efforts, sister denied my request to be a bridesmaid, bridesmaids didn’t buy a gift or attempt/attend a shower or bachelorette, several family members and church members didn’t show up to wedding)

HONESLTY! I agree finally someone who I can relate to. I really loved what Jenn said about baby showers, and empowerment in planning your own. Someone one said to me "omg you're planning your own bachelorette party, that so sad what about your friends" and I felt SO judged. But I realize now the planning was because I know what I like, what is in my budget and what works best for me. I feel Jenn has opened up more than ever and she is truly amazing for it! Cant wait to plan my own baby shower one day!

I just absolutely love that you planned the shower yourself and didn’t wait for someone to do it for you. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but there’s just something ✨chefs kiss✨ about doing things on your own terms. ❤️
Wow what a positive way to look at this. I was super depressed and upset that no one would plan one for me and that I had to do it all myself
YES and I feel similarly abt other events! I used to get all sad waiting for my friends to do something for my birthday, for example (very hs stuff haha), but I’ve since discovered the empowerment and joy that comes from planning celebrations myself. 🥳 We know exactly what we want and there’s none of that “waiting for someone else to ~make~ you happy” stuff.

Yeah😍 we did that when my brother was born. All his stuff were in a gender neutral color (no blue). I don't mean I necessarily associate blue with boys but... well society...
my key to a productive morning: wake up --> work out (madfit or jo) --> yoga for cool down and mindfulness (adrienne or sarahbeth) --> jenn im video!! i'm not a virgo but i love to absorb virgo energy at the start of my day for a kickstart to my motivation to get shit done! so incredibly proud of the journey that you have gone through jenn, and incredibly humbled to have witnessed it. i myself am at an age where i'm considering children with the hubby; sometimes it scares me to death but seeing one of my longest-followed youtubers go through this journey (physically, emotionally, spiritually) has done wonders to calm me down and get me into a more relaxed state of mind. if it doesn't happen, it's okay. if it does, i think i can handle it omg??? go jenn go! love you lots from kuala lumpur, malaysia xx

I feel like if I ever became pregnant I’d feel somewhat like what you feel? most pregnant people are so like enthusiastic and so positive all time about being pregnant and I mean this is nicest way but you seem so like “meh” and chill about it and ready like just pop the kid out and I love that!! The rawness of how you feel about pregnancy is so refreshing to see in a space where most people shove it down your throat about how great it is when I know deep down it’s probably really tough! I hope I conveyed my message well because it’s kinda hard through a comment!!! Love all your videos and been watching you since your tartan party!!
Hahah thanks Alix. Pregnancy is definitely a different journey for everyone. So far I think my pregnancy has just been a new event/addition to my life and I'm happy to share these moments with you all. Also WOW throwback to the Tartan Party!
Most super enthusiastic, bubbly pregnant women are hiding their fear, I'm sure. Speaking as a mom, we're all scared shitless going into parenthood but the norm is to hide it well. I wish society would change and let parents be humans, not just parents. You're allowed to be happy for the blessing and horrified, tired, sad, frustrated etc. at the same time. Same with parenting. You can love your kids to the moon and back but have big "MEH" parenting days, days when you just don't want to do the mom thing. Totally normal! It's not all magic, even though lots of moms pretend it is so!

Fuck tradition, yes! I felt the same way about planning my wedding.. it was traumatic. The people pleaser in me really did not have a good time trying to meet everyone’s expectations. I’m 15 weeks pregnant and you’ve inspired me to plan my own baby shower.
