I love what you said at the end of your video about "if you aren't suffering as a parent, you're not a good parent" I feel like the journey is so beautiful. especially for those who have been waiting and wishing for it! and somehow society and our community wants to see us hate it and be miserable about it, or they want us to struggle just to show we are being "good" parents. Loving the mundane days is beautiful. Loving the new parenthood life and having your own fun, casual routine is beautiful.
Wow when you spoke about “suffering hard enough” that really spoke to me. I totally feel that too. I really dislike the whole moms need to be selfless and have to get little to no sleep and not take care of themselves physically or mentally in order to be a good mom thing. I hate how that’s kind of trendy (for lack of a better word) now. Idk.
I truly believe I’m a great mom (and you are too). I’m not selfish for making time to take care of myself physically and mentally. Honestly, it makes me a WAY better mom, wife, friend, and person. Thankfully, I have an amazing husband that understands that and helps pick up the slack in order for me to be the best me 🥰

What you said about suffering in parenthood was so poignant! It feels so backwards The societal pressure to really “go through it,” tired out of your mind needs not met etc. There are so many times with baby that it’s pure bliss and joy!
Over 10 years ago I discovered you when I was obsessed with thrifting as a teenager (still love thrifting), and I came across your ClothesEncounters channel. Fast forward today, here I am as a first time mom watching your mommy videos. Over the years I have appreciated your transparency with life, career & mental health and even more now with motherhood. In this video you said something in between the lines; as a parent if you’re not suffering enough than you feel you aren’t doing enough. While we know that is not true, sometimes in the moment we believe it because parenthood is hard sometimes, and it’s important that we remember to be kind to ourselves. So I totally understand what you mean by that. Thank you Jenn for sharing a snippet of your morning routine. Here is to more transparency and gentle moments with our little ones and family. Xx

Lennon is so cute! As baby grow older it's a lot easier to take care of them as they learn and explore. My baby girl is 3 months and she is starting to learn how to roll over, touch, and find her voice. It's the best feeling when your significant other is such a big part of taking care of baby. Love your videos.

It’s really neat to see your journey getting easier with your five month old just as mine is with my five month old. I love that we had our sons around the same time! Logan has also stated baby food so I can’t wait to see how Lennon reacts to that as well!

The suffering comment!! Me too dude! If I’m not suffering as much as other parents, my parenting is less valid, less important, and as are the things I do struggle with, or struggle differently with. I think it comes from a place of wanting to be grateful, but it becomes a way of protecting yourself from being judged by others by beating them to the punch.

What I love about your parenting-style videos is that I can start to mentally prepare myself (just a bit) for parenthood (if that’s in the cards for me!) Mmmm LOVED the piece of awareness you drew at the tail end, on a subconscious need for disclaimers... girl, FULL PERMISSION to release those disclaimers. Owning your Truth MAY (+prob does) trigger others, but also gives them an opportunity to tune into their Truth and ask questions like '.. why does witnessing someone else's easeful video upset/make-me-feel-some typa-way/trigger/anger/inspire me so?'. Ultimately, it's theirs, not yours. I've noticed this w a lot of youtubers the last few years, in the rise of cancel culture. Diversity is GOOD! We're not all having a similar life experience, and that's okayyy. Videos like this can provide insight to those on a struggle bus and witness that 'hey! maybe the mindset I approach this with could use some reconfiguring/empowerment/confidence/etc/etc.' LOVE YOU BABE. The last line of your video really spoke to me. I saw my parents suffer as parents so now that I’m a parent I automatically assume that I would be miserable. I am not and I now talk to my therapist about deconstructing that generational trauma.
