These kids are 100% the real deal. This album is killer
Danny's drumming on this song is UNREAL!!!!
He’s come so far !!!
Let’s not forget he’s only 21
he's turned into a giant in just a few short years..such a clean sound, and I saw his confidence at a show in houston 3 years ago, and now no doubt he can play with some of the best at 21 years of age.
Actually Danny is 22. He was born on December 29, 1998
Well he was 21 when they recorded this album
Probably the best rock tracks I’ve heard in 20 years. This album will become a classic, regardless of how many people buy it.
It kicks ass
rock started going to shit around 2003 and I haven't heard anything that made me jam out since Emo died. these guys are just refreshing
@@NewsBoner Rock “went to shit” long before 2003. Most listeners agree it “died” in the 90’s. Rap/Hip-Hop took over and replaced rock as the mainstream, youth’s music. These guys are even more refreshing than you think lol!
If you like 70's rifts, I would check out Ghost's album Impera
It was a classic before it was released to the public or even recorded. Let's not fool ourselves here.
🔥Lyrics:🔥
[Verse 1]
When a man must walk the devil's road
Churning up the Earth Below
He is bound to brothers built by nations
With no pride to call his own
[Chorus]
Woah, the trouble gets so loud
When all of hell tries to drag you down
Woah, the wounded warrior
On this battleground
[Verse 2]
Who is he to think of his survival
When a man must kill his home
Standing naked in the breast of
Where companions are alone
Oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh
[Chorus]
Woah, the trouble gets so loud
When all of hell tries to drag you down
Woah, the wounded warrior
On this battleground
[Instrumental]
[Outro]
Woah, the trouble gets so loud, gets so loud
Woah, the wounded warrior, warrior
Couple corrections: “tried” in chorus is “tries”, and “cannons” in verse 2 is “canyons”
@@Dylanschannelodoom thanks, and sorry, english is not my first language so sometimes I make some mistakes

@@JoanaSantos-zt2fp thank you so much for the lyrics! ❤✌
Love this song 💞🤘
As a hard rocker and Guitarist, I’ve been searching for a band that would one day rekindle the times of classic rock and roll. After listening to their first album I was hooked. And this album here has awoken the rock in our souls!! A masterpiece! Fantastic work gentlemen!
Have you heard 'bout Dirty Honey? They Rock too!
Check out rival sons.
Cant agree more man'
As a musician myself I totally agree
Check out BIG WRECK my brother!
Rock and Roll is ALIVE AND WELL let’s make music great again
Yes but the critics thing that these guys are sub-par and unorigina...... And that is hurting this band....... Well let's change the stupid critics who tell us what to do and what you like. 😭
@@shree397 👏🤘
@Shailu if this album doesn’t win a Grammy or some musical accolades it will prove that modern music is broken
To do that we need to buy their album boys n gals! Get out and buy it
💪
In rock n roll, There’s a thing called “being in the zone” aka locking in with your band mates and being so unified that you all sound like once big meant to be orchestration. And they fucking nail that in this track
It's in every sport or activity, not just music. Also known as the flow.
It is also called „being in the studio and having someone who can make it sound like a meant to be orchestration“
twins...
@@fishroro9719 if you think that then you need to watch them live. They sound just the same.
@@Giannaslay970 and that's what makes this band that much better. What you hear on the album is what you get live.
This band makes me want to buy vinyl like I used to as a kid ...
I’m 14 and just walked up to target for a vinyl copy earlier, it’s the first new band I’ve been able to do that with.
The album's out on vinyl too, so you can get your deck's needle some much needed action.
I just ordered the special edition vinyl and it's the most gorgeous color green! 😍
I do actually, I have both their cd and vinyl records. They are just that good.
Little did I know I was listening to Built by Nations during the 26 minute version of Lover Leaver Taker Believer. Love it!
Wait, now I have to go back and listen to that again
About 8:23 into it.
Yes and also on their concerts, other riffs on this song theyve teased it on their gigs! Some are on old album! THEYRE GREAT
Same.
It’s the best part of that video! The second I heard this riff I just HAD to get my guitar and learn it.
YES I was SO pumped to hear this riff again. They play it in their crazy long “Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer)” performance-the first time I heard it, it immediately became my favorite Greta Van Fleet riff, despite the fact that they’d only played it once. I though it was so good that I learned to play it by ear. This band always fucking delivers.
mind sharing the link to where they played it? I want to see that, thanks!
Thank you! I knew I knew that riff from something! ThTs it!
Omg I’m the exact same! I’ve been waiting to hear that riff in a song ever since that live performance lol. Cheers.
How do you play the riff
@@barker.visuals3988 I haven't taught myself this riff yet but from what I can hear, it's mostly between the 5th and 7th frets and starts on the A or D string, I'll let you take it from there aha
best song on the album
He said 20 minutes after the album came out
completely agree
Agreed
I think Weight of Dreams was
@@cjm-jr9xk Nice profile picture
If you listen close with an open mind you will realize these guys are NOT a Zeppelin rip off but they do have their own unique sound and style.
I never thought Led Zep. .... =D
You dont even have to listen that closely ;)
Sounds more like rush
People these days compare more than they actually sit back, listen, and enjoy.
@@Joshua-fr1xp Very true.

Online world tour u mean
I think for that we have to ask corona...hahaha
Jajajajajaja this man 🤣🤣🤣
hopefully in a year or 2 because i want to go

Danny’s drumming phenomenal
Guitar is badass!
i’m so unbelievably proud of you guys oh my god.
They'll rule the world with this album! 😎🤘
I’m a massive Led Zeppelin fan. They’re one of my favourite bands of all time. I don’t see the reason for hating this. It’s a great thing they sound like Led Zeppelin. Greta Van Fleet is one of my most listened bands. I love their music so much and it’s so great to be able to live through an era with this type of music. Thank you Greta Van Fleet, for bringing back Rock.
Totally agree
Agreed. These snobs hating this amazing rock are clueless. Just hating to hate. No need to drag us all down hahahah
I think of it like, this is what Zep could have sounded like, if they had had Zep, Rush, and The Who, for influences
totally. They were influenced, so were many other bands. Even Black Keys had some songs sound like Zep. So many people filled with hate today. Just sit back and enjoy the music and be glad they are still making stuff like this instead of that damn auto tune and everything to a click. Use real drummers and stop quantizing everything.
LeBron took over games just like Jordan, and both were best known during their time in the Small Forward position. Tiger dominated courses with his length and strategy just like Nicklaus. There's nothing wrong with emulating and reinventing the best that came before you.
This is by far the best riff on the album, so groovy
Very!!
It sounds a lot like Led Zeppelin for some reason lol
@@davidjasonsteiner5951 It reminds me of Rival Sons, but then again, they remind me of Zep.
The tone of the guitar at the start instantly reminded me of Whole Lotta Love!!! So good btw
Omg!! Exactly my thought!!
This is what Greta sounds like!!! Love them!!
@@maxinebeaudion6747 same and I was disappointed for less than half a second to have something sound so similar from them but then it completely changed and this song rocks probably one of the best on the album so now I'm happy.
And the drumming sounds similar to good times bad times
Its a well played gibson. That's what your hearing.
@Lolz450 "troll for all the haters" LOL .
I can't believe what I'm hearing, this is truly phenomenal!! It's like coming out of a music desert of so many years and quenching your thirst, and the taste is so familiar. Love this so much
This. I was easy to write this band off as a carbon-copy. Exhausted from a long day, i was spent and then I heard THIS gem on the radio and something overcame me. Im usually not the biggest fan of this particular genre (🙋🏽♂️ Metal-Head), but this TOO rocks! Im now willing to sit down and give this band a deserving listen-through. After reading these comments, I’ll probably see a couple of you at a show of theirs now.
-Detroiter
These vocals give me chills. Rock is alive and well...
I bought the cd, and I love every song... do this: crank it up while driving down the highway in the left lane, heart pumping, goosebumps on your arms... this song and album kick ass!!
This album has been living in my car’s CD player since the day it released.
Best so far! My favorite all time band is Led Zeppelin, and I don't care about the critics. I LOVE when GVF sounds like them.
But that's my problem with GVF, why listen to them when Jimmy Page, JPJ, Bonzo, and Robert Plant have already done what they're doing at least 3X better?
@@WanderingDeadbeat I mean, it's undeniable that Zeppelin are better, but if you want to listen to new music that sounds at least somewhat similar to the greatest music of all time, Greta are probably the best option. They won't replace Zeppelin, but if you want something fresh, or to see a band playing like this live, they do the trick. And maybe you're absolutely fine with not needing fresh music, and that's fine, but I think a lot of people (like myself) who were born more recently want to feel invested in a modern band that actually plays good music, so we listen to this. And I mean this 100% respectfully, so I'm sorry if anything comes off the wrong way to you.
@@WanderingDeadbeat Then you can just not listen. I don't understand why that's so hard. You don't have to come here just to hate them or tell them that they suck.
Definitely getting more than just a hint of Whole Lotta Love & Black Dog on this track, but what I love the most is that it's not straight-out copy. GVF take the great licks of the past and give them their own twist. It's pure r'n'r spirit.
The point is that there is no way to hear new zep songs, and I am pretty pleased with gvf new album. Also think that their best songs are not better than the best of zep, but definitely better than the medium or worst zep songs.
This song makes me feel good!! Makes me glad that I am alive. Thank you Lord for the gift of music!! Great job guys! You Rock!!!
The best song in this album!
What a masterpiece this entire track is, truly a blessing for rock fans in this age of electronic music.
I'm here to tell you "guys from the future" that we've been here since the minute this song/album was released 🤘
Chill out
dam right we have
I came here from the future to witness the beginning
and literally nobody gaf
This song is them saying ''yeah, we can sound like Zeppelin and doesn't it sound fucking cool as fuck!!!?'' and I agree!
Josh has the ability so sound exactly like Plant but then showcases that he has much more to offer!
Feel free to hate on them for 'borrowing' so much from other bands. I prefer to look at how much they're adding to the rock scene of today and I'm ecstatic that for the next 30 years or more, I'll have a live act to go and see that genuinely captures the sound of the 70s which I didn't have the good fortune to live through myself.
Rock on Greta!!!!
Just bought my first Greta Van Fleet vinyl of The Battle At Gardens Gate today while shopping at target and let me just say listening to this band makes feel this way I can’t explain except in the sense that I must put as much positive energy into the universe as I can before I go even tho I’m just 21 years of age at the time of this comment but just maybe we can all be “Ascending to the stars as one” music can bring the world together as one and let’s all become a peaceful army joining the band. :)
That riff sounds familiar to me... hahaha. I love it.
Pls don't call the fanboys of that band we know wery well 😅
Black Dog 😂
That’s because it’s from “Black Dog”
The intro reminds me of whole lotta love

This is a fucking awesome song, and a killer album. I can't believe how good it is!!!
Possibly their most direct nod to Zeppelin, but they’re just so good at it.

Love this song.
Man, this song is addictive! That is CLASSIC rock riffage right there, bad to the bone!! Anyone who says "Rock is dead." hasn't heard Greta Van Fleet and Rival Sons yet... 💯👍
Wow what an amazing song!!!! I heard it on the radio in the car the other day and wow it gave me chills. I first thought it was one of the amazing bands from the 70s that I never heard of but to my surprise it was a new song. I never heard of Greta Van Fleet before, but after hearing this, I looked up all the other songs from this band and they are all amazing. My wife keeps telling me I need to listen to new music but nothing gave me that feeling till now. All the GVF songs have great sound, emotion, and passion. It really captures the Essenes of Rock n' Roll. This will be in the Rock n' Roll Haul of Fame for sure!!! You now have a new fan. This song makes we what to go on a Road Trip to Nowhere so I can listen to every GVF song at full blast going 85mph with the top down. Looked up your tour schedule, you need to come to my home town, Vegas. When you do you will see me in the front row.
They're opening for Metallica in Vegas on February 25th at Allegiant Stadium.
I bought the album. This is aboslutely the greatest rock music produced in last 20 years. My brain is smiling!
the mix and mastering is unbelievable✨✨✨✨
Was giving a bit of Black Dog in the beginning 🖤
A bit lol.. a lot
@@Tallica_Mike indeed but they put it to good use: this is a thumping song
Naaaah, it sounds more like a Rush riff
@@maskjco9497 Why not both?
Damn... This is music. Makes me want to go for a drive with these tunes pumping out of my stereo. Fucking awesome.
As a fellow Led Zeppelin fan, I know that a) these guys aren't a Led Zep tribute act and b) openly admit them as an influence. No different to other bands.
This album is 11/10
This shit is seriously NEXT LEVEL....after taking a week off from GVF, I listened to some of the greatest songs ever....this is such an amazing sound from earth? IDK guys... unreal
i missed real rock for so long now and these kids come along and just nail it flaws how well they play together
The talent in these young men is limitless and astounding!!!!
This song is amazing
I grew up listening and loving progressive rock and I’m telling you this is a great album
Never liked rock (EVER), this song has literally converted me now i need a serious fix of anything this. its the god damn great van fleet
I recommend giving some led zeppelin a listen, stairway to heaven is always a classic, but immigrant song is great, kashmir, dazed and confused, and many more
Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida's great, spectacular drum solo, also!
Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water.
Cream's great for the heavy guitar sound, too.
Led Zeppelin would be a top pick, though--personal favourite's When the Levee Breaks.
Anything Jimi Hendrix would get your fix.
This song and Heat Above are my favourites. Transcendental.
This riff is too good 🔥
I've been a huge fan since the beginning. I told everyone watch because they will go down as one of the greatest bands of our time as they evolve and mature. I haven't been disappointed. Every album keeps getting better. As for the haters, don't care and they shouldn't either. I wish my dad was alive to hear them. He was my music partner, so many nights with him either chilling listening to classic rock or jamming with him all night long with a case of beer, Some green, couple guitars, harmonicas and a Mic. God I miss him.
This is probably gonna be my favourite song of the century.
yeah fr😝
I heard this song before a 12 hour shift today on the radio and here I am at home finally getting to look it up after it was in my head all day. Woohoo!
Holy actual hell I can’t believe music this GREAT still exists!! Thank goodness for talented rock n’ rollers.
this is so damn good, I can't sit straight when I listen to their riffs and his screams, a breath of fresh air in this doomed epoch.
My dad passed away from metastatic esophageal cancer in 2019. With his influence on my music taste, I hope he can hear your songs where he is ❤ I will see this band in April, its gonna be a bucket list show ❤ My soul thanks you for your influence on modern music 🕊️
If GRETA would produce more RIFF songs, and not just chords.. they would be GODLIKES for decades... Hope they make more songs like this one here.. PLEASE.. FULLMODE RIFF
Rock n' Roll has hope with this guys!
Nothing better than fresh GVF on my ears.
This song is just straight fire energy. I really hope these guys tap into the darker side of emotions like I feel they did here... I'm anxious to see the progression of Greta Van Fleet... Fuck anybody who says "oh they're just cop..." They're not copying shit. People are just comparing bc the vast majority of today's music sucks. I haven't been this moved about hearing a new song on the radio since probably Pantera... Thanks GVF.
Rock is loud and awesome again. Thank you for saving the kids
I just keep trying to listen to my other music but I somehow only want to listen to Greta van fleet.
I have just decided that this is not only my favorite song of theirs, but my favorite song PERIOD!

WOW, just wow. Pure rock. Ive been listening all the classics for 30 years and these kids had catch the spirit.

Greta Van Fleet is a wonderful gift to the 🌎! This album is mind blowing!
This is their best album yet🤘🌟♥️🎶
The absolute pure ecstasy i get from these vocals is...wow
Awesome riff, awesome vibe. This might be my favorite song on this album.
My dads 60, doesn’t like any ‘new’ music. But he loves your music, as do I.
The whole album is just bangers. Haven’t heard 1 I don’t like
What a chorus... insane!
Sem palavras. A música começa incrível e termina incrivelmente maravilhosa
Muito boaaaa, os caras mandam muito!
They are great musicians, and are very reminiscent of the 1970s rock bands that I grew up with! I love them . I hope that everyone will appreciate a talented group who is producing good music, ( including playing their own instruments), which sadly seems to be almost non-existent today. Fantastic!
Rock and Roll, Welcome back. Nice to see you're still in beating hearts.
when i first heard this on the radio i could have sworn it was some song from the 60s i havent heard before. Turns out it came out last year. They nail the old school rock and roll vibe
Still not tired of this album.
Love how modern/classic rock this sounds. Great screech on the singer XD
Danny is a Beast! The drums on this track are classic.
I waited so long, OHHH you guys made my year! Long life GVF❤️
HOLY SHIT THE DRUMMING ON THIS SONG IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL
FUKIN HELL THIS IS SO GOOD
GVF thank you that you exist 🤝
This is by far the best song on the album, should be rock track of the year, and put up in the hof in CLE. Yes. It’s that good
Finally a band emerges to play some good tunes
Try Rival Sons, you'll love them too. :)
@Travis Rupert I like dirty honey and the struts, royal blood is not really my cup of tea for some reason, but they're talented as hell too. ;)
They're getting better and better.
Some music wise said about them that they were such a youthful prank and they would disappear in a moment. It turns out not. They recorded a great album and showed the middle finger to those who did not believe in them and did not give them a chance. . I sit in my armchair and listen, listen, listen. The guys develop like a beautiful flower and keep getting better. They gave me faith that rock n roll wasn't dead after all. I hope that others will follow them and we will get new beautiful music that will be played for us every day, because how much you can listen to these reheated chops from the old days. Keep up the GVF. Great job great music. Thank you . Greetings . Stan.
