They were used by some political parties too like PPP which deliberately kept them away from education and prosperity and used them to achieve their political agenda. 99% of people in Pakistan live in poverty and the economy is unlikely to improve for a number of reasons. The best thing for them to do is leave and I'd give the same advise to the majority of all Pakistanis. I'm from East Africa and I think East Africans should help them return eventually.
There is also large siddi communities in Rajasthan, Junagadh in Gujarat, in konkan coasts of Maharashtra and Karnataka.. as lile the elder said, each siddi community has blended very well with the dominant cultural communities of the region. However, the trait they all retain is the use of african drumming patterns and dance.. one thing common with all the siddi communities of our subcontinent is the perpetual neglect by their respective govt, lack of financial support, education and general ignorance about them being as fellow national citizens by the non siddi communities.

lol I am pakistani but I can still have other identities??? I am also Lahori, Punjabi, middle class, etc etc. Why does identity have to fit only the one box of nationalism? They are an ethnic group with their own diverse history, racial background, their unique traditions etc. Learning about this history, acknowledging our differences will only help us understand each other better.

There are people who have origins from central Asia, (Mongolic) yet no one will call them asians or central asian-pakistanis. We just call them pakistani. But we KNOW where their routes come from. Even me, I have Punjabi routes, persian ones, while my (step)brother has more south Indian routes. we know all that, but when referring to each other, we just say Pakistani.
They are not Africans, they are Pakistanis of Bantu heritage.
