ڈاکٹر معید پیرزادہ صاحب آپ اکثر و بیشتر علامہ اقبال کی شاعری کے حوالے سے بات کرتے ہیں اور ان کی جو خوشگمانی مسلمانوں کے حوالے سے تھی اور بدگمانی مغرب کے حوالے سے تھی اس کے تناظر میں آپ بات سامنے رکھتے ہیں اور بڑے خوبصورت انداز میں یہ سمجھانے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں کہ علامہ اقبال کسی غلط فہمی کا شکار تھے ان کا ادراک ایسا نہیں کہ اج بھی کسی نہ کسی حوالے سے اس کو اپنے لیے قابل تقلید سمجھا جائے برخلاف اس کے وہ لوگ جن سے علامہ اقبال بدگمان تھے وہ اج ہمیں ایسی جگہ پر نظر اتے ہیں کہ ان کی تقلید کی جائے تو معاشرے میں اصلاح ہو سکتی ہیں.
محترم ڈاکٹر صاحب یہ بالکل ایسی ہی مثال ہے جس سے آپ یہ بھی ثابت کر سکتے ہیں کہ صحابہ کرام کواور رسول اللہ کو مسلمانوں سے جو خوشگمانی تھی وہ درحقیقت غلط فہمی پر مبنی تھی اور حقیقت یہ ہے کہ جن لوگوں کے خلاف صحابہ اور ابتدائی مسلمان صف آرا ہوئے وہی اصل میں آج قابل تقلید اور اصلاح معاشرہ کے حوالے سے بہترین نمونہ ہے.
آپ کا یہ ذوق ہے، کہ آپ کسی نہ کسی حوالے سے، وہ لوگ جو اسلامی تہذیب و تمدن کی فوقیت کے قائل ہیں، ان کو ہمیشہ مغرب کے سامنے سرنگوں کرنے کوشش کی جائے.
ڈاکٹر صاحب آپ اچھے خاصے پڑھے لکھے آدمی ہیں توآپ کو یہ بھی پتہ ہونا چاہیے کہ لبرلزم حقیقت میں ایک نظریہ ہے، ایک ایسا نظریہ جس کو لبرل دوست احباب کبھی بھی نظریہ نہیں مانتے، بلکہ وہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ لبرل ہونا ایک ایسی اعلی اخلاقی صفت ہے جس سے انسان اچھے اور برے میں بغیر کسی تعصب کے تمیز کر سکتا ہے. لہذا اپ نے ایک بہت اچھے انسان ایک لبرل انسان کے طور پر ہمیشہ چیزوں کو دیکھا ہے اور جب اپ مسلمانوں کا تجزیہ ایک لبرل ذہن سے کرتے ہیں تو آپ کے ذہن میں مسلمان نہیں بلکہ اسلامی عقائد اتے ہیں اورآپ دل سے یہ بات سمجھتے ہیں کہ مسلمانوں کی موجودہ دور میں تنزلی کا اصل سبب مسلمانوں کے وہ دقیانوسی عقائد ہیں. چونکہ آپ خود بھی ایک مسلمان ہیں اس لیے آپ اس بات کو اس طرح سے نہیں کرتے جیسے الفاظ میں نے استعمال کیے ہیں. بے شک میں یہ سمجھتا ہوں کہ اپ کے ذہن میں یہی بات گردش کرتی ہوگی
آج کی گفتگو کے حوالے سے میرا تجزیہ، اسی طرح بے لاگ، اور سچے دل سے جو سمجھ میں آیا، کیا ہے. جس طرح آپ سچے دل سے جو سمجھ میں آتا ہے، کرتے ہیں. آپ ہمیں سمجھنے اور سمجھانے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں اور ہم بھی اس کی پیروی کرتے ہوئے اپ کو کچھ سمجھنے سمجھانے کی کوشش کر سکتے ہیں.
لیکن بحیثیت ایک لبرل آدمی کے آپ اپنے اوپر کیے گئے نقد اور جراح کو گول کر جاتے ہیں اور اتنے بے شمار لوگوں کے سمجھانے کے باوجود اپنی بات پر قائم ہیں اور یہ خاصیت نظریے کی ہوتی ہے اسی لیے تو کہتا ہوں کہ لبرل لوگ نظریاتی طور پر دوسرے نظریاتی لوگوں کی نسبت زیادہ سختی سے کاربند ہوتے ہیں.
آپ نے آج تک کبھی بھی ایک مسلمان کی حیثیت سے مسلمانوں کے اندر پیدا ہونے والے اخلاقی اور سیاسی انحطاط کا تجزیہ نہیں کیا. ورنہ آپ ضرور اور بار بار یہ بتاتے، کہ ہمارے پاس سب سے اچھے اخلاق، اور سب سے اچھی سیاسی حکمت عملی رهى، جسكى بدولت ہم نے ایک وقت میں دنیا پر حکومت کی، وہ مسلمانوں کے عقیدے کی پختگی میں تھی.
جس سے مسلمان بہت دور چلے گئے، لہذا آج ذلیل اور رسوا ہیں. بات حقیقت میں اتنی ہے، کہ مسلمان اسلام سے دور ہو کر، قران سے دور ہو کر، رسول اللہ کے اسوہ سے دور ہو کر، اور صحابہ کے اسوہ سے دور ہو کر، آج دنیا میں ذلیل اور رسوا ہے.
اس کا یہ مطلب نہیں ہے کہ ہم، آج مسلمانوں کی اصلاح کے لیے، وہی اقدار اور اسلامی تعلیمات کو رواج دینے کی بات نہ کریں، اور یہ کہیں کہ آج کے دور میں مسلمانوں کے لیے قابل تقلید مغربی اقوام ہیں.
ایسی بات بالکل نہیں، بات وہی ہے، جو اللہ رب العزت نے قران پاک میں ارشاد فرما دی، کہ تم صرف اس وقت تک دنیا میں برتر رہو گے جب تک تم حقیقی ایمان کے حامل ہوں گے. اسی سے تمہارے اخلاق سنوریں گے، اسی سے تمہارے انفرادی اور اجتماعی معاملات سنوریں گے، اسی سے تمہاری طرز حکمرانی سنورے گی، اور اسی کی بدولت تم دنیا میں قابل تقلید ہو گئے.

قاضی ایزی پیسہ نے IHC کے جسٹسز سے جو انصاف کیا ہے اسکی مثال ایسے ہی ہے کہ ایک خاتون کے ساتھ ریپ ہو گیا اور وہ شکایت درج کروانے پولیس اسٹیشن گئی وہاں پولیس نے خاتون کی شکایت کا ازالہ کرنے کی بجائے اس کا دوبارہ ریپ کر دیا

Moeed sb, According to my Analysis and Study, Allama Iqbal meant that any Civilisation who will be created on the basis of Immorality, lying, injustice, and while snatching other fundamental human rights and values will within itself will get Self Destruct. In these Lines, He was comparing the rise of some factors in Western Culture of that time which was destroying their family System , In my Opinion, He compared the Western Culture to Golden Islamic Principles and was talking in that Context. He never compared it to todays Pakistan Culture or subcontinents Civilisation. And I think in some points, Western Culture is following more Islamic Points than the Countries that are claiming to be Islamic. The Humanity, Justice, Rule of Law and All other things are adopted by Western Civilisation making it Successful. While The people who are running Pakistan is doing and following everything that is said to be done for a Civilisation to self-Destruct.
I think that Peezada has a valid point. Understanding is not static. It is governed by a differential equation. However whenever there is conflict b/w theoretical certainty and experimental fact, the latter must be treated sovereign. This led to the acceptance of Quantum Theory. Exactly he was comparing the western civilization with the nominal Islam and not with our hypocritical Islamic societies. Infact his whole argument is that we have become Muslims in name only by abandoning Islamic principles of equality, justice, freedoms, education, etc and he urges us to adopt Islam fully in order to recapture past glory. Infact Iqbal quote effectively identified the rot that was eating us in his poetry and was our biggest critic- just read jawab shikwa. I listen to it a lot to make sense of the present day crisis facing Pakistan, Egypt, Sudan, etc. Mowed Pirzada’s analysis is so misleading… (idiot!!)

It’s not about that. I disagree. I am a pakistani origin doctor and living in US for past 20 years. The term tehzeeb is used to analyze the basic family dynamics in the North America and Europe. Family unit is at its worst in US, Canada and Europe. You are still at initial stages of raising a family here. You will see a lot in your near circle. But one fact that I will agree with you that the lowest level of education and culture where Pakistan is standing now was never imagined by Allama Iqbal. Pakistan 🇵🇰 was an accidental state that never emerged as a nation. Now we are at the fire that is opened by Imran Khan. No one will believe me now but 100 years later, people will label Imran Doctrine as a best happened incident in Pakistan’s history.

I have lived in USA for over 40 years, they are prosperous because of their legal system. I am in a profession where I am in contact with families and their psychosocial issues. Iqbal never compared indian sakafat with west sakafat. He always compared sakafat with the Islamic way of life. It looks as if you are striving to be controversial. If this is the way to get more publicity and/or viewers, that is fine then. However, if you truly believe our culture is inferior to the West, then I feel you need to do a deep analysis of your own psychology.
You had all the opportunities to live in this wonderful culture of the West but willingly opted for the culture you came from. The interesting part is that you are still unhappy in this superior culture of America and longing to go back to live in a lesser culture of Pakistan.
I have been living in the Western culture for over 45 years and find myself nothing but proud of my culture. Values and practicing values of my cultural relationships to my wife, children, parents, friends, relatives, neighbors, and poors are way superior to any practicing cultural values of the West.
I feel you are confusing the political and financial system with cultural values. For example, it is not our cultural value to send off our parents to senior citizen homes when this is a norm of Western society.
Allama Iqbal is right in his poetry, which you think was written in his immature age. Here are a few examples of where the West is killing itself with his own culture, same sex marriages, acceptance of inscest, and actually some states are making it legal.
Time and again, do not link a system created by some selfish and corrupt people with the help of foreign powers to suit themselves to our base values. In fact, our cultural based values are keeping our people alive when there is no welfare or financial support by the government. An older brother sacrificing his whole life ambitions to raise younger brothers and sisters after the father died prematurely is unheard of in the West.
You are an intelligent person, and i hope you reconsider your position on our culture because this is the only thing left for us to teach our children.
