Jesus, she's been there longer than I've been alive! and she's still fit
fitTER now then then.
Hard to believe she’s over 50!!
28 years she's been on countdown
@Richard Christopher watch your language please thanks
I'd like here to do a segment about the eytmology of the word "PHWOAAARRR!" because I say that every time I see her.
Bless her, the Dentster looks so nervous here. I want to give her a hug.
Dan Gale Just a hug realy hmmmmm
When doesn't she seem nervous? It's quite endearing though.
Dan Gale hug? #euphamism
She is like April from Peep Show, the perfect combination of lovely with no self esteem
On her podcast with Gyles Brandreth she mentions this appearance and confirms that yes, indeed, she was bricking it
Jimmy Carr looked a lot different bsck then....
Ollie Ahokas ahahahahahahha this is gold
Sounds a bit different too!
I knew he had work done on him!
It's Richard Whitely! Unfunny.
Barney Ward who are you to tell people what is funny or not? It’s subjective.
Batman, Wayne and Dent?
Ohh I missed Dent till you mentioned it!!
What's the Dent connection?
@@GirGir183 oh dear!
Harvey "Two Face" Dent
Also in Part III, the woman contestant has a Mother-in-Law named Barbara. Batman, Wayne, Dent AND Barbara. lol...
Susie Dent has been on the dictionary corner on the classic game show, “Countdown” for the last 30 years. Congrats Susie on your 30th year on “Countdown”.
4:34
Richard establishing the first rule of Countdown 26 years ago
Don't fuck with Susie Dent
Greg Davies was just reinforcing the rules
I like how he immediately introduces Countdown Rule #2: Never Fuck with Susie Dent.
Wayne is 15 on this programme and 40 today. It's THAT long ago, damn.
That makes me feel old, and I wasn't even born until a few years after this 😂
But Susie was 25 on this programme and 26 today, isn't time weird.
@@Milamberinx hahaha good joke
30 years!? What an icon.
She's just as stunning now as she was then.
WOW!! Susie was young back then! Mind you I was still in Secondary School in 92 and I'm now 38 so The lovely Susie is bound to have been naught but a slip of a thing then too and back when you could take Vorderman seriously.. Great days when the prince of Countdown , Richard was still with us. RIP you legend
She has such a sweet demeanor. Love Susie 💜
Susie Dent is the best lexicographer of all time, a really nice and down to earth person and viewer friendly as well.
Yeah she puts more people to sleep than the manager of dignitas.
and she swears like a sailor too, she even did a program for channel 4 about swearing
That lovely, beautiful and talented, innocent young girl, waaaay before the most unnecessary joke was so elegantly served to her, as a minute followup to the simple question "So Susie, what have you been looking into lately". And British TV history was made, as endless laughter swiped over the gleam land, from Falmouth Bay to Dounreay.
(Un)dented despite some handling …
Susie Dent: absolutely beautiful 25 years ago and absolutely beautiful 25 years later. She's clearly lived a clean life. Many older women have had "work done" but don't think Susie has. All credit to her. Delightful mix of brains and beauty.
I think she’s had lots of work done!
@@bunkerboy02 susie just a natural beautiful stunning woman who looks after herself
@@NinaRoad no, but to say that it’s her youthfulness is down to living a clean life is misguided!
@@johnandrew6113 and pays for fillers and Botox but don’t let that get in the way of your perception of Oil of Olay.
@@bunkerboy02must be hard to accept that someone could be just just natural instead of stupid people always thinking the worst susie is loved by millions
What an absolute sweetheart Susie Dent is, wonderful….
Gee, that young man has really nice manners! Lol. It's not often on this show - or any other for that matter, that you hear people say "please and thank you!"
Still love watching this here in Australia 🇦🇺
The delectable Susie Dent!
UA-cam will probably delete this but man is Susie Dent serious wnaking material 😀
I love the gentle pace of this show. My how things have changed since 1992.
so this is the carol vorderman that jimmy keeps on making rude jokes about.
Yeah, she was the first in charge of numbers/letters, before Rachel came over.
Why they always referring to her and hanging crap on her ?
I wasnt familiar with her at the time so dont know what it all over
@@TheFykle So she feels included in the group,as to begin with she had said in an interview that by Jimmy always being polite to her, when it came to the jokes, she had felt alienated, left out if you want... so being insulted jokingly, makes her feel included...
@@TheFykle I guess you're asking about Vorderman, she's a relatively clean person to have been on TV for so long, but she did leave Countdown because she wanted to keep her humongous wage (reportedly £900,000 per year). She went on to host the daytime TV show "Loose Women" where she and a few other women in their 50s would talk absolute horse manure for a few hours per day.
Well from what I have heard, those rude jokes are reasonable. My mum was on Countdown in 2003, and she told us that she's a self centred and vile woman, but both Susie Dent and Richard Whiteley were lovely.
Never understood why Susie Dent wasn't a massive star...
Simon Brooke because star is too short for her :)
Simon Brooke bet she didn't wanted it, cause she could've been tbh
Maybe she wasn’t prepared to compromise herself …
I always liked Susie Dent's professionalism and intelligence.
2:45 THAT collective groan from the audience at Whiteley's dad jokes lmao
Holy shit! Are you sure that this got broadcasted in 1992 and not in the 70s :O
Why do you think it looks old? It doesn't look that old to me and I was 12 when this was first broadcast. Now, if you watch the first episode from 1982 that does look a bit old.
I thought the same because of the fashion/camera quality but i was also born in 1998. I think its just strange for kids who were watching tv in the 2000s to see how different TV was like just 10 years before! If someone showed me this Id assume early 80s
@@ajs41
Yup , and Susie was like 17 years of age lol
Same age as yours Truly );
@@ajs41 hell im only few years younger than susie, and that set looks prehistoric for 92’ , i cant believe they went for that.. its def something id have expected in about ohh 1977 !
Wow Susie hasn't changed much at all! Looks virtually the same now!
3:40! The moment!
Ps she was and is stunning!
Second round I was surprised none of them could beat "cloudier" for 8. I found a 9-letter word: "Abdicates".
When people were normal, natural, a little bit shy, but most of all not up their own arses.
She looks so young!
Love that smile.
Happy 25th anniversary Susie!
Oh my, their faces when presented. Wow. So uncomfortable.
I love how they never get to speak, but have to endure the prattle. sigh.
Susie must looooove being on Cats/Countdown with the gang. These guys are sticks. As is Hick Newer.
Was sure he was gonna say eternety and not september
This show was based on Des Chiffres et Des Lettres from France. The format of the French show has evolved a lot.
Happy 2tth anniversary, Susie!! From America.
WAIT! SUSIE DENT STARTED STARRING ON COUNTDOWN 3 MONTHS AFTER I WAS BORN???? SHE STILL LOKS SO GORGEOUS!
2:36 - "His hobbies include being from Jersey". Of course!
Awwww! She's adorable here! And her demure smile hasn't changed a jot.
Agree, that’s why her video about swear words is so funny.
She was gorgeous
Susie isn’t aware just how cute she is . She’s stunning
Wow! Honest to god, I thought Susie was in her late thirties now.
Same.
Tune in tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel!
Look at Susie! So young!
I came here after watch about 29 8OO10CDC videos. Gosh it's very subdued, and while Susie sounds the same, it's strange to see Carol wearing loose clothes, compared to Rachel's tight mini dresses.
I wish my name was Bernadette Batman :-(
Anyone else getting creepy future serial killer from Wayne here?
I think it's the eyes...and the slight 'vacant' look!
AIPChristina haha XD
Wayne would be 39 now. I doubt he turned out to be the British Jeffrey Dahmer. He'd have been a household name if that'd turned out to be the case.
Muttley Nuva wun pls 😨
He's all right. Having said that, it would be difficult to make him laugh unless you took him a walk through the cemetery.
A Bizarre Collection Of Puzzles by The Enigma is no ordinary puzzle book. Abandoning the standard format of numbers 1 to 9, this item contains a miscellany of names in the sudoku grids. These bizarre grids feature such general knowledge topics as geography, history, popular music, politics, and sport. You won't have seen anything like these before. Also, the author (a former contestant on Fifteen To One and Countdown) has assembled 300 conundrums and numbers games from Channel Four's Countdown.
25 years and shes still rocking it ^^ 2500 episodes or something like that?
That was the state of the art of computer graphics back then. And the state of the humor, apparently.
She looks a bit like Lana Del Rey
When you're so aesthetic that you like the suit.
She is ultra beautiful
Nice and old time but I prefer the one with the 8 out of 10 cats crew and all the funny people. Glad Susie Dent is still there tho. I like her
Nice to see Carol Vordeman looking normal and attractive.
4:21 Susie's first episode, and Rule Number One of Countdown is already being laid down: Never Fuck With Susie Dent.
She kind of looks like Natalie Portman's twin in this episode. No wonder she's so pretty. I wonder if Natalie Portman will look just as pretty when she reaches the age of 52.
natalie will always have it.
So much was different then, it was only half an hour long, it alternated with 15-1 every three months, and most crucially of all it was on at 4:30 rather than the bizarre 2:10 slot it's been relegated to these days.
also only had 4 channels back then
Holy shit!! I had no idea Susie had been with Countdown so long!
Good agent … contract.
It’s been 25 years and she hasn’t changed at all
I wonder what she was looking into back then.
The only British woman who gets prettier every year.
I think he means "Bernadette Battman and Brucewayne Summers!"
what a great name
just been watching the 8 out of 10 spinoff and thoguht I recognised her.. wow 26 years and she aint changed much at all..
HOLY CRAP SHE WAS GORGEOUS
Damn Susie is an absolute babe.
Suzie hasn't aged a day, has she?
This is now a 20 year old edition of Countdown as we have now gone past 29th June.
Now 30! Time flies
This was a repeat, broadcast during the 1999-2004 era, in 2002.
Thumbs up if you ended up here from the new episode of purple
No, they couldn't get that - Demeanors is a US infliction. The British Version is demeanoUrs
ARRRRRRRR Love Carol
I have been watching Susie Dent for so many years on TV but only recently I have developed a crush on her.... I don't know if it's out of nostalgia or love.
3.26: It's the mom from Married With Children!
In 2000 this recorded episode from 1992 aired because the cricket test match is over.
Holy mother...Rula Lenska? She played Mother Superior in Robin of Sherwood episode “7 sword of Wayland” 🙈 🗡
Nerd
I remember a bloke doing dictionary corner before her. I think his name was Sampson?
Rula Lenska has the voice of woman who smokes 40 Benson & Hedges a day.
IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT BERNADETTE BATTMAN
na na na na na na na na na na na theyre not lol BATTMAAAAAAAN lol
Wow, they’ve really have changed the character of this show over the last 25 years.
The clock still counts up instead of down … clue is in the name?
Rula love, the 80s called. They said they finished two years ago. (Har, har, har.)
Monday 29th June 1992
Just to add to this, it was the Final of the 66th series as well that aired on the 29th June 2012. I don't know if it was mentioned though.
Contestant Wayne is Tobey Maguire.
Holy Countdown
Susie Dent looks so young!
She was 27 here.
Wow, Susie is so young
I was wondering that. I can only assume this was re-run due to cricket being abandoned at a guess. I recall 'Countdown''s older editions were occasionally shown in such an event.
I always loved watching Susie for her floppies
Susie Dent...💖
Susie looks better now 28 years later. She is like a fine wine. She aged well
Or cheese …
i always forget that theres an actual countdown
Suzie was around 28 here.☺️
I got meanders before the bell!
Susie hasn't aged at all.
Proof that Vampires are real. The Dent must be one. She has not aged in 27 years !
Turning back to this after a recent episode, I notice at last that Susie Dent looks a bit like a less pouty version of Ruth Galloway - if she'd been saucer-eyed I would have been a lifelong Countdown addict
Batman and wayne? In the same room? Holdup...
And with Richard trying to be...The Joker.
Susie Dent has got hotter and hotter? Why do I fancy her more now than back then?
The intro graphics for countdown are awful! lol...
RIP Whiteley...
