Great video Don. I'm originally from outside slane and would have worked and went out in Drogheda. Never knew about all those steps on the south side. Looks like plenty of great walks around Drogheda. Great video. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you so much for this video. My maternal grandparents were from Drogheda Joe and Agnes (Kelly) Maginn. I have not been to the town for some years and watching this video this morning was like taking a nostalgic stroll back through my childhood summers. My grandparents lived in Marian Park (Inchys Lane) and I remember I used to play in the fields and the railway bridge (on the Navan Rd) opposite their house. Happy days.
@@donstravelsandrants. So glad you walked down the watery steps. I must have walked up and down those a hundred times when I went from my Granny and Grandads house in Marian Park (Inchys lane) to the Abbey Cinema across the Bridge. There house faced what was once fields and the railway bridge on the Navan Rd. The fields are all gone now sadly
I could have sworn there was 103 of those steps! I used to go that way most days. On the mitch from school and up to see the girls in the sacred heart, haha! Great video by the way!😁👍
Everyone calls it the glen too btw. And then the mollys down were the bees were. My grand aunt lived in the small little house at the bottom of the steps there.

Thanks a million Darren. My mother was from Slane.

I lifed in Drogheda from 1965 until 1972, working in the Hauni Ireland Factory on the Donore Road. Does anybody remember? Dieter Eppler
