FInally a review with no fecking distortion in it! THANK YOU!!
Love how these guys listen to each other when playing and feed each other chords and licks. A joy to behold what music is all about!
My God, Ariel & Pete compliment each other so well !! Warm toast & Honey on a cold day.Jazz - Niiiiice!
Everytime ..... EVERYTIME that these two get together the result is just sheer magic !!
Ariel's jazz palette is extensive and delightful to listen to! Great video guys! 🙂
I always associate the ES 175 with Steve Howe... and he's just unbelievably amazing with it.
BRKsEDU Dang right. Crypt keeper rules a 175.
Não esperava te encontrar aqui Edu... Hahah massa cara!
Funny comment. I assume it was humour. You want to hear REAL ES 175 try Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheny, Joe Pass. That's what an ES 175 is for. Steve Howe...pfft...I'll never forgive him for Asia.
this is because you havent seen elvis presley palying the gibson es 175
Old Goat the Antichrist
I think he'd moved on to a Strat by then.
My face was just like Pete's on 19:45 when I heard Ariel's wonderful lick.LOL
You can actually see you two making each other play better. Great to watch your jams.
Does Ariel just turn up to make Pete feel like the rest of us do when we're watching Pete? IT's a really surreal experience to watch.
This is the first time I have ever watched a product more than once. The playing is inspired. Thanks.
How about a comparison of Jazz boxes at different prices - Gibson, Epiphone, Ibanez, etc.
What is the under 1000 euro Ibanez version is the equivalent for the 2 Gibsons in the video?
D Angelico, Eastman, Stanford, Heritage.
@@koenroels4549 I know its late but there's the AF collection that makes sort of replicas
How can you not absolutely fall in love with their playing. My God!
oh goodness (rips clothes off passionately) yes! Rub them!
Fabulous guitars but the white edge of the pickguard really needs to be cream to harmonise with the binding...
i wanted to see a tortoise pg on the 275
That is a very good idea !
Agree totally Michael and the nut too!? 🙂
ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!!!
Spolied brats everywhere. If gibson sell guitars made out of real Gold, you guys would still pick some shit out of it and say it could have been better.
I could watch Danish Pete all day, his playing is truly inspirational. Love it.
2 extremely beautiful guitars and equally beautiful playing too.
best outro of possibly all time... my goodness that was incredible. Thank you guys
Wonderful playing guys! I've always loved Gibson guitars and those two are lovely.
Great playing from Ariel & Pete!
You know you have bonded with a guitar when you can't really talk about it and all you want to do is play. Love this video! Makes me want to dig out my Memphis from the back of the studio room and jam out with some jazz licks. Keep up the awesome channels guys!
Beautiful playing. Wow. You guys really show what those instruments are capable of
Ariel quoting Charlie Parker and John Coltrane on guitar! Top level shit!
The playing on this video is out of this world!
Ariel, Pete, Mick, and rabea are absolutely magic
Nice guitars and great playing by Pete and Ariel.
Gratifying presentations of both nice guitars... Thanks Pete and Ariel... Musicians ?? Just the Best !! ...🤠...
So great out of these 2 guys. Those sounds are epic
Sensational and tasteful playing.
Ariel’s back! Thanks for this guys…haven’t been able to watch much for the last couple of months so was glad to see this! From Scotty Moore’s ES-295, Steve Howe’s ES-175, Nugent’s Byrdland, and a million more fingerstyle/rockabilly/jazzier guys, these things are gorgeous and very versatile. I hear Tele’s used to be considered ‘canoe paddles’ back in the 50’s. I love solid bodies but really appreciate the craftsmanship on these - and that Lee is stocking them!
Damn Ariel, that comping is just unreal. And really nice blues playing as always Pete!
Thank you for not leaving, Pete.
I knew this would be great.
Damn, Ariel gives Pete run for his money. Both are awesome
Enjoying, the playing on these two.
this was actually really fun to just watch and listen to...great job! I think your best video....
That little bit at 19:27 onward.... STOP IT! That's far too much honey being poured into my ears!
....and that outro jam, stellar... seriously lads, put out an EP!
wow Ariel is a jazz MAGICIAN
damn, with jazz theres really nowhere to run/hide who is the more accomplished player in the genre. Ariel comps more tastefully, knowing you dont need to always chord on every quarter note, while also managing to walk a bassline at the same time. And when he solos, he picks up every diminished 7 chord and really outlines the changes better. Pete sticks to the blues scale more (though to be fair I heard him outline the changes a few times). Moral of the story is that jazz is brutally honest.
More and more and more and more videos on Jazz. And Blues.
Those boxes sound good even as rock n roll axes.
ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE THEN DONNA LEE!! Thank you for doing these justice!!
I have the 2019 ES-275 thin-line in Montreux Burst - I love that guitar!
Danish P is brilliant and better than I could ever hope to be - but Ariel is something else IMHO. Wow. I love the way he uses the dynamics and tone, changing it all the time. The Andertons 335 comparison with Pete and Ariel is a case in point. Saying that, Pete blows my mind frequently. But I think Ariel holds back a bit in the duo stuff. Love to see him live. He seems like a young Larry Carlton. But out of all the youtube guitar demos ol' Gregory Kochery takes some beatin'.
I just got my grandad's '61 175 back from being finished. He was in a local jazz band back in the day. I can't really play, but I'm wanting to play some blues on it.
You guys are incredible guitarists. Great demo.
Finally some jazz guitars!!!!! Thanks!!! ♥
Crazy playing!
That jam just burned holes through my headphones. Fucking brilliant!
You folks at Andertons are a talented bunch
From Chappers and Cappers to Pete and Ariel - we love what you do at Anderton's online channel.....!
Awesome jam at the start... i want one!
Another pair of gems. So cooool.
How many people apply for jobs in Andertons thinking this is what they’ll be doing all day and not cleaning the bogs etc.?
Holy Ariel! He’s got some good jazz chops
19:10 "Good stiff!" That face you make when your friend says "Good stiff." I'm not the only one cursed with a debased sense fo humor!! :)
Steve Howe played a 175 in Yes.
Your right, in Yours Is No Disgrace, he used this guitar to fill in the middle section with a solo. I'm very young, but Yes is now one of my all time favorites, including The Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, and Rush. They all led me to appreciate music as a magical, and spiritual caricature.
15:09 alright, mr. humble "ahhhh it's been a while..." just casually throwing in Giant Steps, now are we? ;)
Ariel quoting Donna Lee!!! Holy respect!!!!
Love those jazz boxes
Something jazzy like this would be so nice in your next YT-lesson, Pete. If you have the time :-) Songs like this are meant for sunday mornings with coffee and a hollowbody. Loved this video for raising the bar once again :-)
Yep, as I thought, all the notes sound good when playing jazz. Very sexy playing guys, thank you
The fingers on Pete are amazing...
When I see Danish Pete playing, gotta watch the video asap!
Wow! For some reason, I always thought that the 275 was much larger than the 175 until I now wee them side by side. Great smooth playing, guys.
.
Damn Pete! Nice guitar work man!
The jams are inspired. These guitars obviously speak to you'all. Nice show guys :)
these bros need their OWN show. Giddy up. Now I need a 275 - great :)
You guys can really play! Gibson Jazz boxes.....wow! :-)
Great, now I need that 175 I can't afford. Thanks. Also, that Ariel guy does jazz nicely. Pete is already established as awesome.
really great playing..... I'll take that ES-275
Love these guitars!! Although I’m a jazz through and through
You should do a video with a gibson 137 or/and 135
#hardForHonore #pumpingForPosen
Jam in 20th min was superb, that Jeff Beck vibe, felt kind of like Cause We've Ended as Lovers.
I had something in my eye during that G minor jam.. damn.
That 275 is very pretty
I will never own one of these but watched the entire video. Basically guitar porn
T-bone Mcnasty whenever I see Pete or Ariel I watch just for the playing. Don't care what they're reviewing
finally some jazzers!
15:09 GIANT STEPS
You know what's amazing, the guitar on the left is the same guitar Steve Howe used when he played in Yes, in Yours Is No Disgrace, he does a wicked solo is left hand on the neck string.
Shame that the 275 doesn’t seem to be made anymore, it sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for in Gibsons
Don't they make them custom made? If you order one they may build them, I think happens the same with the es175 . Sorry my English sucks 😅
Thank you guys for comparing with ES 175 to ES 275.
More Archtops please
Phoarrrrr, so good!
Want the 175, but can only afford the Episodes version. Who WOULDN’T want it after listening to all that tasty playing???
Having played both, I'd go for the 275, for purely practical reasons. The size & depth of the 175 are such that playing one for longer than 5-10 minutes aggravates an old shoulder injury, which is really annoying (& PAIN!ful) as I prefer the neck & general feel of the 175 over the 275. Either way, both are stunning guitars...
Joe Pass recorded Virtuoso on a miked 175 (his amp was broken IIRC?)
Stiff- good stiff 😂😂
Bridge pickup on a 175 is one of the most under-rated tones in guitar (IMO)
Lovely playing gents! FYI both links above take you to the ES-275
I had a plain red ES-275 that I loved. It was stolen and never seen again :(. Wish I could find it, but no luck.
It would be awesome if you guys did an updated version of the old 2010 "Affordable Guitar Shootout"
I've visited the Memphis factory and the first floor is mostly a HUGE empty lobby, a small store featuring Custom shop guitars and a modest build area in the back that I was fortunate enough to take a tour through. Pete is right. They don't build many guitars a day there but I do remember the guide telling us that they make the semi hollows and jazz boxes there... the Montana factory produces the acoustic lineup and the third factory(I don't recall where that one is) makes the LP's, Explorers, Firebirds and SG's. It did seem a bit excessive to me that such a limited lineup was being produced in such a massive building.
Raul Aguilar-Ponce Nashville is the third factory.
jacob ashcraft yes. Thank you for clarifying. Cheers.
Good to hear memphis is not going away.My 339 is amazing.
Sadly, Gibson's Memphis factory has since closed it's doors.
Available Xmas '17... the new holiday single from 'The DP Duo' - 'How Are You My Dear?'
Guys! Can you tell me what pedals is Ariel using when he's playing the ES-275 at 19:32! I love that George Benson type tone so much...
Some really special tones here, a lot of money but I kind of hear what you're paying the extra for when the playing is that good
Pete's face at 26:22 is hilarious. =^.^=
I've never played the Gibsons but the Epiphone es-175 premium is really great, especially with the Gibson 57 pickups.
I can only imagine the handmade Gibson version is even better - around 3,500.00 better? I don't know.
Ariel/Danish Pete - will you be sending the Captain back for some schoolin' anytime soon? Those lessons were awesome
Nice....Sound like Steve Howe by busting the bank? Up there with a big muff on a 175 with a Fender twin.
Ariel is a top guitar player
God I wish I could play like this
