As performance artists, you guys have recognized what many reactors often fail to understand about Babymetal. They did not just come out magically and became famous overnight. As you said, they started playing small venues like any usual metal band. In one interview, Su-metal even said that in their early performance of Doki Doki Morning, the choreography have them all falling to the floor and it left many people confused. She was afraid at first that the crowd will just laugh at them and not take them seriously. And remember they were just little teenage girls when they started performing live. Imagine the confidence these girls have to perform live before a cynical crowd thinking their whole dance shtick is plain silly. These girls have paid their dues in short. I still can't understand how some people dismiss them as a gimmick. These girls/women (now) have worked their asses off and deserve all the fame and accolades they get. Now on to Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Sonisphere 2014. You'll see how big cojones these girls have even at such young age ;)
The whole argument about them being a gimmick is dumb anyway. Kiss was a gimmick, Slipknot is a gimmick, and there a many other bands that have used costumes and other presentation gimmicks to create a distinct identity to stand out. Babymetal is different only in that the aesthetic they are going for is cute rather than spooky, and that seems to bother the more macho part of the metal community.

Fantastici come sempre ragazzi!
I'm late to the party, but that was a great reaction. Forgive me if I'm repeating myself, but how is it that 2 Italian guys can view such a unique Japanese group singing in their native language, display such an immediate appreciation & big picture understanding of what they are seeing, all while communicating it so perfectly & so succinctly to me? Bravissimo!! Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
Just think about this: At some point they got a big group of people together in a room with plenty of open space. And then someone told people where to stand and were like "okay, and then you're gonna tie Su here to the cross and then later you three will stand here and bow to her as she is crucified up there, etc." And then imagine those people going home and telling their partner what they were up to all day. I fucking love Babymetal
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance] , SOKONINAR [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], SPIRITBOX [Belcarra], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], and many more...
Believe it or not, these huge stage performances are (with only one exception that I know of) exclusive to Japan! All their big arena shows where they do the elaborate sets are only for Japan shows, and several - if not most - have been for Su's (the lead singer's) birthday, such as this one. When they travel outside of Asia, it is typically to smaller venues of less than 5,000 people...which is just absurd to me with how big they have gotten over the years. The only show I know of that was a big production was their show live at the L.A. Forum in California in 2019. I would love for them to come where I am and play our large venues, it would be amazing to see! I do need to start small, though, and enjoy just seeing them live first.

No, it was not an execution. Su-metal collapsed and died on the stage. Only after that they brought in the cross and put her on it to bring her back to life by the power of the Fox God. It was a resurrection.
They performed in Bologna once, in 2015. Maybe it happens again. Sadly they have never come here to Spain, they had shows scheduled in Madrid and Barcelona past summer but you know what happened, I still have my ticket around. But every year they do a visit to the UK at least, they have never failed, UK is Babymetal's second home. France and Germany nearly always have shows every year too. If they don't come maybe we have to go to them. For a next song I'd go for *Akatsuki,* live at Black Night.
Here is Yoshiki, a drummer/pianist of X-JAPAN, a legendary Japanese rock band, to whom Babymetal pay homage quite often in their performance. A neck brace is one of them. ua-cam.com/video/dmlPNTeqPDQ/v-deo.html
Great reaction as usual. I'm not positive but I thought they were in Italy during their last tour. I could easily be remembering falsely. Us fans have no idea what happened to Yui. She quit due to poor health but that is all we know.

You guys should check out ‘Headbanger’ Live Legend 1997 version. The choreography is awesome haha. Also, if you’re interested, there’s a sub-unit of Babymetal called Black Babymetal, which is just the two younger girls, not the lead singer (before one of them left due to health issues of course). One of their best songs is called ‘Sis Anger’. It’s super heavy drums and just sounds really cool! Hope you guys are staying safe over there! We are lucky in Australia that COVID has had very little impact on everyday life and cases were very few, hopefully it gets better in your country soon.
Great reaction⚡️🦊👊🏽🤘🏾 The only more intense live performance that I have seen Babymetal do is the song “In the name of”, live at the concert Legend S baptism.. It is available on that reactors resource site..

You want another song live here you go, Ijime Dame Zettai live from Sonisphere 2014. They had played a con in Singapore and a couple of warm up shows in France and Germany in small clubs. Then Sonisphere in the UK in front of 55,000 fans most of which knew nothing about them. Many were pissed they were there as they were a lame ass gimmick. Watch this performance the last of the set and see the crowd. It is the moment Babymetal began to win the hearts of metal heads in the West.
I liked the comment about Yui & Moa letting Su go because it's her destiny. I knew these two guys would get it. It was a willing sacrifice and had to be done. I know it's always said that BM, and Japan in general, are not all that christian, and just see it as a way to further their lore. But there are definitely some christian nuances in this performance. Impressive that BM picked up on them and implemented them even though they aren't necessarily christian.
The Legend 1997 concert is totally awesome (I have the dvd).... Basically its the story telling through music how Babymetal goes from a Jpop fusion group to a full on metal band. The concert started with Ava Maria, and ends in Death. There were quite a few surprises in the concert, where a few of the well known babymetal songs were either remixed, or sang differently, and there were a couple of cover songs sung by Su since this was her Birthday concert (birthday is 1997), and she sang some of the top songs of that year.... You should check out her sing Tamashii no Rufuran during that concert. It's a cover of a Japanese anime song. 🤘🦊🤘
Salud y Metal.🤘
Sounded like you understand some Japanese and noticed that this song is basically an introduction of the girls and the band. I find the wordplay on "desu" and "death" quite cool. Fittingly, the song has usually been played as an opener to the shows, unless there was a reason to crucify Su. I totally agree with you, many bands tend to get boring after a while, even if their catalogue is much bigger than BABYMETAL's. But there's so much variety in their music, it's always intersting. And their stage performances make it even better, of course. I'm sure they'll get to Italy someday, but you shouldn't expect them to bring those elaborate stage designs with them. Their Western shows are much smaller, usually with audiences ranging from 2000 - 4000 (with a few exceptions like Wembley and The Forum). But that doesn't mean that it's less awesome to be there, being in a BABYMETAL crowd is always great fun.
Knowing that Italy has such a strong Catholic presence, I wonder how a lot of people would react to this kind of iconography being used? I've seen one or two devout Americans getting offended by this, even after having it explained to them what is going on, I'm curious...
@@autohmae you might be right... I know they had planned a 2020 show, but it was cancelled... maybe 2018 was kinda similar, I don't remember it exactly... I saw them in summer 2017... and yes, Austria is quite close to Italy ;)...

One of my Favourite Babymetal Tracks!!!What a Show!!Amazing Riffs!!!
Thanks for reaction this video.
I look forward to the next reaction from babymetal-SIS ANGER.
Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
thank you very much for your words! we are happy that you like our reactions!
Just think about this: At some point they got a big group of people together in a room with plenty of open space. And then someone told people where to stand and were like "okay, and then you're gonna tie Su here to the cross and then later you three will stand here and bow to her as she is crucified up there, etc."
And then imagine those people going home and telling their partner what they were up to all day. I fucking love Babymetal

You guys are great! Here’s to hoping we all get back to live shows again!
🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
thank you!!!!
I do need to start small, though, and enjoy just seeing them live first.
wooow!
seeing them in an intimate venue was mind blowing tho!!!
@@taylorquinionez4118 I'm seeing them in September where I am and looking forward to it.
Pretty sure the neck brace was a reference to how much headbanging we all just did.

thank you so much!!!
Here is a list of the kami band at the time this concert was performed. Members

Mikio played at this show
No, it was not an execution.
Su-metal collapsed and died on the stage. Only after that they brought in the cross and put her on it to bring her back to life by the power of the Fox God.
It was a resurrection.
oh ok!!
Austria and Switzerland are closest Babymetal has ever been to Italy except for the 2015 show
Here is Yoshiki, a drummer/pianist of X-JAPAN, a legendary Japanese rock band, to whom Babymetal pay homage quite often in their performance. A neck brace is one of them.

Great reaction as usual. I'm not positive but I thought they were in Italy during their last tour. I could easily be remembering falsely.
Us fans have no idea what happened to Yui. She quit due to poor health but that is all we know.
My guess is she is taking some time to focus on her education.
@@autohmae a very reasonable guess
@@jeffschreifels8651 Don't know if you've followed SG a bit, but Ayami was away from entertainment for a couple of years too. And Riho also went 'mostly into hiding' for a few years.
@@autohmae I know Ayami made a comeback but I didn't know she was laying low. I assumed she just didn't have any opportunities in the public eye at the time.

We are lucky in Australia that COVID has had very little impact on everyday life and cases were very few, hopefully it gets better in your country soon.
oh ok! thank you!

Excelente! Cualquiera...Cach me if You can live oficial
graciass!!
hey, try Headbanger live at makuhari hall (legend 1997), this show is awesome (budokan hall is bad, try the makuhari hall)
Yay the cute-death lolita

They might not be ready for this.😈😈😈😈😈. But who is....

They also now have the big screen behind them for those smaller shows. So they can do a bit more production than before.
They go bigger than 4000 - for example Brixton was 5000 and Hammersmith Apollo has something between 8 and 9000 capacity.
@@Grington300 those venues is Russia were pretty big too, Moscow was 7000 I think.
@@autohmae Yes I thought they were, I wasn't sure enough to say so.
@@Grington300 In my defense, I did say "usually". :-) But I admit that I thought that there were less exceptions.

Can you React to Lovebites - Break The Wall
Knowing that Italy has such a strong Catholic presence, I wonder how a lot of people would react to this kind of iconography being used? I've seen one or two devout Americans getting offended by this, even after having it explained to them what is going on, I'm curious...
