My dad named me after this song. He told my mom "if I ever have a daughter, I'm naming her Patience" and that's how I came to be. He passed when I was 16 in 2020 due to a heart attack. Whenever this song comes on the radio, I take it as a sign that my dad is here.

Damn I think of my dad and me jamming out to old great rock music. He passed in November of 2023 at 53. I’m 29. I miss him every damn day!! Talked to him everyday.. I miss him always!!!… I just know we are still rocking together till this day!! He was the one who got me into rock music and loving drums at a young age. He was never a drummer. I fell in love with the sound of it and connection within bands sound in my own way. Glad I buried you with my main old drum sticks!.. fuck.. I Miss you dad and love you!!!!

Summer of 1989. Im 8. sitting on my brothers shag carpet floor the day before 3rd grade listening to this. Worried about tomorrow, but feeling so cool hanging with my 2 older brothters. Life was simple. The World wasn't crazy. I fell in love with not just a song, but a moment in my life when we were still all together.
My mom used to whistle this song every single day when I was way little, used to think it was the prettiest thing I’d ever heard, and had a beautiful melancholy feeling.
She’s still with me, but I cut her off awhile ago cause she turned out to be really manipulative and bad, so whenever I hear this song I start crying terribly cause it reminds me of when life was perfect.
It's December 4th, 2021. Today would have been my youngest brothers birthday. He would have turned 43 today. We lost him way too soon at 30. I can still see him doing the Axle Rose sway in my head. It made me smile when all I wanted to do was cry. This one's for you Ryan, I'm thinking of you, cheers.

At 52 years old... I am the BEST I have been my whole life! "No bread, no pasta, no Sugar" got me back to where I was in High School (when this song came out)... I'm an "empty nester," now and "Patience" got me here: thru years of marriage I thought would kill me -- into true marital bliss (still with same God-given woman [there's no doubt you're in my heart, now, Kimberly])! The tears, smiles, wind-sprints and the dumbells come so easy, now! Wine flows, songs grow! Patience..Patience..Patience..the rewards are at the end of a long, hard row... My mom had this album.
I remember this, as well as many others, being played throughout a lot of my youth which helped shape my path into music.
She would always say after this song “ patience is the one thing in life that will get you the farthest” , boy was she right.
It wasn’t long in to high school the wisdom I received from her came to a tragic end…but it’s value lasted a life time.
