    Couple of things. Good review. You send mixed messages on the glass when you say the 8x ain't great and gets fuzzy, but then say the glass is good later. The NF ATACR is also daylight bright like the Razor Gen III/II, maybe more so. I liked that you brought up how thick the stadia and reticle is at 8x, because it's something I've learned myself going out to your range. Personally, I've found 1-8s need to be in a 34mm tube to maintain clarity and function as intended. The 1-8s in 30mm tubes all suffer at the low end or the top end. It's cool to have a light weight 1-8 if it does everything well enough, but none of the 30mms do.

      First off I want to say that I 100 percent agree about the 34 mm tube for LPVO’s. Having more eye box does make a huge difference with clarity and function. To clear up the confusion, on the 8X. It is a 4 out of 10 in terms of clarity of target picture, due to the fixed parallax with the LPVO. The 1x is fantastic, however, some thing we have seen with all LPVO systems, is, it is a jack of all trades and a master of none. But totally agree with your entire comment.

    Friendly advice. Have your video editor make each of those DJI mic feeds into stereo across both the left and right speakers. Listening on a phone doesn't matter but computer or car speakers it's not great.

    Why wouldn't you get an MVPO instead of an LVPO if you plan to mount an offset red dot sight? You will get much better magnification for a cheaper price just not having the 1x and the 1x isn't as good since LVPO's are all fixed parallax versus a red dot. So why bother with 1x on an LVPO if you are going to use a RDS? Better off getting a 2-10x if you mount an offset dot it will be cheaper and have better glass for the price.

    Make a LPVO with these qualities and will be an absolute game changer:
    1. Same excellent 1x
    2. Same size and weight
    3. Aimpoint bright!!
    4. Top magnification of 4x! That is plenty and will help eyebox / scope performance. Magnification wars of LPVOs are losing sight of what the purpose is to the detriment of the performance.
    5. Less busy reticle. Preferably the horseshoe with bdc drops. Leupold CM-R2 is about perfect.

      It’s always good to make sure that you never take away capability, so having a zero stop even though you may plan on using the reticle to hold for your different targets is still a good option to have in your toolbox. Also having a top red dot is a good backup citing system as well as allows you to passively aim with Night Vision or a gas mask However, with that being said, the one X on the scope is probably one of the best 1X power settings we have ever seen

      Just my opinion, if your not going for “precision” and just want a good dependable reticle that can put shots on target quickly and at different distances than I would get BDC, otherwise I would get MIL. Nothing wrong with MOA but I’m starting realise how much more potential MIL has over MOA at longer distances. I have a PA 2.5-10 GLX on my AR10 and my 18” AR-15. I also used a 1-6 LVPO from PA. I’m a pretty much a PA fanboy and their BDC reticles are pretty good (they can be in MIL or MOA). I’ve had leupold, Vortex (poortex), Swampfox, and PA. And except for my gucci Leupold, I love PA. I also really appreciate their mission statement as a company as well. In the end you gotta do the research and decide for yourself 😊

    A true 1x is overrated. Once you get magnification factors above 4 the eye box degrades so quickly. 6 or 8 are usable. 10 pretty bad. I’d take a bit of a crappy 1x or even a 1.5-2x low end to get better eyebox at max.

    Personally I dont do scopes on my AR15s I deem them a battle rifle, and a red dot is more than adequate. This said I have a Wilson combat AR that its accuracy could put it as a DMR, but my personal take is if im running an optic, i am pushing it out past 300 yards i dont want a LVPO and going to a traditional optic.
    I understand the want for PID, but again, I do not point my weapon at anything i do not intend to destroy.
    I have binos on my rig for that very thing, if its hostile and i have the time to discern if its a viable target or not, I will not point the weapon to indentify.

    Vortex strike eagle ffp 1-8x review when?

    • @JGoodZX6R
      @JGoodZX6R Рік тому +1

      I have the SE FFP 1-8x and the PA PLXc 1-8x. PA is obviously nicer quality overall and clearer glass. But I’m still undecided if it’s nearly 3x the price better. I don’t think it is honestly. 8x eyebox seems more finicky on the PA. My biggest complaint is if your head isn’t dead center, parts of the reticle seem to drag/double/blur. I notice it mostly on the vertical ranging bars, although it occurs throughout the reticle. Back it to 7x and it’s not present. Awesome 1x. Gripes on SE: weight. At 24oz, it’s noticeably heavier. Clean reticle at 8x though/no reticle “dragging”. BDC lines up great with what I’m shooting. Hopeful Vortex puts out a lightweight PST Gen 3 with reticles similar to the EBR-9 offerings with something like the user configurable turrets PA did. I have my elevation turret exposed on my PLXc.
