If you're checking this out, check an OST called "Pale court" it's a bonus track that's a) Live recorded, b) Doesn't appear in the game. It's absolutely mesmerizing. Storytelling, storytelling and even more storytelling through music.
Two words come to my mind always with this song. Tragic Majesty. Leitmotifs are super common on this ost. Indeed there are a lot of callbacks and the main theme is repeated in various ways on a big amount of the tracks. It all ties up immensely well. Always feels different, but also similar in some ways. Definitely a soundtrack that each track talks to each other. No idea how you don't have more requests for this ost. The whole ost is freaking amazing from start to finish to be fair and I have listened to it countless times even before I played the game. No exceptions on the tracks its all too good. But its fine since you plan to play it. Will be a great experience.
Its like a tragic symphony that's about to conclude that you walked into towards the end yet left before the final note, a snapshot of events culminating into its current and final state of decay, yet is to fully fade away after your passing. In a sense, that's exactly what it is in-game too
Now we need to someone request Lace by hollow Knight silksong, which is not out yet, but is the one of only two songs release to the public about this sequel. Is a song made of strings instruments only btw.
You HAVE to play this masterpiece of a game. not only from a musical standpoint but from a story and refined gameplay standpoint. i rarely say this but hollow knight has everything. for such a small studio. Ive 112% hollow knight multiple times and i never get bored. it has something for everyone. pantheon 5 for those god gamers, and a easy way out for those less skilled.
Beautiful music…but PTSD is kicking in…f*ck this area. Basically a platforming hell-gauntlet. Then there’s an EVEN WORSE gauntlet in the same area after! …pain.
my favorite track from my favorite game 🥲 so tragic and beautiful. and it fits perfectly the location wheee it's used: a pristine, luminous palace with white curtains and silver thorns
Minor spoilers Yeah, a beautiful song that plays during a secret, optional dungeon gameplay wise, with few ennemies and just very hard parkour, that's pretty different from what the game has. But its very important for the lore and story. Its very difficult, its still not as hard as the secret secret dungeon that's hidden in this dungeon, that you can do only once per game lol. The other song you listened to before (final boss theme) plays during that other dungeon (the slow and sad part). I have very good memories from beating it, especially because of the song.
Deep Focus + Grubsong works better (grubsong lets you heal after taking 2 hits, deep focus heals for 2, this way you don't have to constantly wait for Hiveblood, and you don't lose soul if you take 2 hits at once :D )
There are very very few games out there, where you can truly appreciate the mindblowing great soundtrack from start to finish even without having played the associated game. I will say that Hades and Hollow Knight are two of them. No doubt about that. Overall quality is simply through the roof. I ended up playing the heck out of both games, but funnily enough I had already heard the soundtracks so many times and absolutely adored them without any context. Some times its even more beautiful to imagine things with just listening to something amazing. Speaks volumes of how good they are, for sure.
You want to get a jab in the gut? Listen to Path of Pain. Even without any context for where this plays, it very clearly sounds like the way anyone would imagine creeping, desolate, desperate despair. "Path of Pain" becomes so much more haunting as a title the longer the track goes on. It's an awful, terrible, beautiful track.
My favorite song in the game no question. Check out the piano collections version too, the arrangement is insanely good. Glad you're playing it. It can be tough, it can be daunting, it will be worth it.
Love your content, as always! A suggestion for the song you should check out next: the Opening theme for Legend of Mana called, "Song of Mana", it's in Swedish, and quite beautiful =3 I hope you had a wonderful Long weekend, and a great Tuesday.
The point in the game where I ragequitted. Even after falling down _there_ with no lantern and sitting on the bench like an idiot, I kept going on. But this place... this place destroyed me. I guess the main issue is that this is where the platform side of the game is the focus... and I just don't like platformers xD
We call this “calm ptsd”
What a beautiful song !
Christopher Larkin: "Yeah, but what if we added the sound of a hundred buzzsaws over it"
Fun parkour zone
With buzzsaws 😁😁😁👍
I had so much fun in this section lol
No cost too great
Buzshaws
everyone who played through this segment of the game knows there's a very important instrument missing from this track 🥲
I dont know what you are talking about
@@ZejoantThe buzzsaws
@@Sir_Steven oh
@@Sir_Steven Path of Pain is just Mick Gordon's remix of White Palace. XD

I believe the instrument is a harp

When the songs are this pretty but still feel dark, it gives the feeling that I’m somewhere I should not be.
It’s perfect.

Maybe the word you were looking for to describe Hollow Knight's music was "haunting"?

I'm pretty sure the stringed instrument is just a harp lol.

Thank god for Hiveblood Charm.
Otherwise, the White Palace would be impossible for me.

This song in the have equals: Climbing to Heaven, and after thousands of attempts, you might just reach the pinnacle.

If only i didn't spend so much time raging in this section i might have been able to appreciate the soundtrack some more lol
It would be nice to have a link in the description of these videos for what the music used in the backgrounds are
the music at the beginning of the video? it's the Queen's Blood music from FF7 rebirth
You should make a video after you play the game revisiting all these songs you reacted to already.
Somebody likes Queen’s Blood, it would seem

Why finale, you won't react to any more Hollow Knight?
Dark and emotional
