I bought the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 2 years ago- have never looked back. Sold off 3 other lenses that I now never used. Beauty photos AND video, with f1.8 constant through the (internal) zoom length- perfect for videos!

$30Grand in gear to make a UA-cam video about a UA-camr! Some people feel awkward filming on the street but clearly what we need is a fully decked out Cinema Camera with dual audio recording redundancy and a set of monkey bars strapped to our back to hold all that gear up to our face! That’s definitely less cumbersome than a small Sony on a gimbal! 👍 Love it!!

Killer video! I'm filming a documentary this weekend actually at a rally race in Michigan. Lots of great tips, one that I want to use was when you mentioned the hero shot from down low. I know that's more of a film maker tip, but I'm going to give that a go while filming the driver and co-driver. Thanks Matti!

Love this episode! I just finished my first every mini doc and I did the entire thing on the old DSLR that I have access to with one lense. The challenges you mentioned with the audio DEFINITELY were spot on. It was a nightmare trying to get decent audio out of the equipment I had. (Just the on cam mic and a $100 RODE mic).. Once you started talking about monitors, AGAIN you highlighted a great way to avoid the struggle I had haha. My Canon Rebel T5i has horrendous auto focus so I had to manual focus the entire project just using the tiny screen on the camera which was very difficult. Thanks for all the great content and ideas Matti, your videos have really helped me in all aspects of filmmaking!

Love your breakdown! You should make a video on your full audio setup for docs. Wiring, levels, etc. Because that can really make or break a piece 👍🏼

Our future selves will thank us for all the times we've used an Easy Rig to save our backs haha. Although, that sucks you weren't able to use it on this specific shoot.

Do Camera monitors work on any Camera. I have a Nikon D3300. It doesn't have a flip out screen. I need a monitor but not sure where to start. Thank you .
