Good video. Echelon Mall used to be my favorite mall and I am sad to see it so empty. Sometimes I still go to Boscov's in there but that is about it. I was glad to see the annual IHOC Mall Walk return.
I lived in Somerdale, NJ in the early 80's until 1990. I currently live in the Midwest. I remember always going to that mall almost every weekend. It was always crowded. In fact, I remember them building the food court. It brings back a lot of memories. Thank you for posting!
I think a lot of people had these malls when they were younger that are now just slowly dying. I had a mall near by house called the SummitMall, which was closed by the time I was 10. It stayed abandoned for 6 years until it was finally demolished. The only thing keeping it alive was a Sears, and once that was gone they finally destroyed it. The two closest open malls to me are are trying their hardest to stay alive. The one closest to me has opened a “Selfie Museum” which sounds like a last ditch effort to get the younger crowd to come. Nice video, I can relate.
Thumbs up from another local. Echelon was THE place in the 80s and early 90s. My husband and I still go there to walk when the weather is bad though, lol. I just wish a coffee shop was open. And honestly, Boscov's still gets ton of biz. It's amazing.
I was a rootless kid, so I actually have MULTIPLE childhood deadmalls. The last of which being the Carousel in San Bernardino. The saddest of which being the Horton Plaza in San Diego. I no longer remember the name of my first, but I was old enough to remember when it was built. There was even a carnival to celebrate. It was in Sacramento, and it had a model train store I was CRAZY for. And now it's dead.
Most of the malls in New Jersey are on the decline if not already abandoned. The Burlington was completely abandoned for a few years and was a super cool spot.... now its just rubble
Omg i didn't realize all those things closed. I remember going there for Christmas pictures years ago. That was a mall i never thought would close. Hopefully the Deptford one by me doesn't end like that.
Just last week I drove past Deptford Mall. There were quite a few cars in the parking lot, so compared to a lot of other dying malls, they still seem to be thriving.
The same thing is happening at Livingston mall. I remember when I was younger everyone would go there but now barely anyone goes there. A lot stores are leaving one of those store being sears (due to there bankruptcy). If you live in the Essex and Union county areas in NJ most likely your shopping at Jersey gardens or willowbrook.
Every once in awhile I’ll go there to revisit my childhood too. I remember being in 8th grade (2014) they had a carnival in the parking lot and it was filled with people. Sad to see the mall just rot away.
I remember going there in the 70s when I was a kid. In the 80s as a teen I used to go there. They even had a 4 screen movie theater at one point. That closed in the mid 90s. It all went downhill from there.
Im surprised they haven't destroyed the mall yet. Right next to the mall there is a place (which is part of the voorhees town center) were there a ton of stores and a good amount of people go there
Used to live right next to this place and every weekend went to the tilt studios and my dad used to tell me stories of it’s former glory in the 80s honestly so bummed out that COVID killed it 😢 R.I.P old friend.
I live near there! My old elementary school is right across from it. I remember we would go there to look at different shoes at Payless or just walk around the mall. So sad to see it’s abandoned! 😢
I went in there during the holidays and they still had a mall Santa there along with Bath & Body Works, Boscov's, the offices, one food place closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and a day care. Security even questioned me on why I was walking around there...
I used to come here as a kid even though I live in Camden county. The moorestown mall is probably going to turn like this in about 5 years, the cherry hill mall, and deptford mall is no where close to looking like the Voorhees town center
Yeah dude you definitely look better with a full arcade and a smile. I never been to this mall but got one doing the same in my area and this hit home hard.
That’s crazy and sad always sucks seeing stuff you grow up with close down and everything I went to the Swansea mall in Mass before the pandemic and it looked like this had no clue it was going to be closing down a year later …
If your from NJ you know the mall at least in my area Cherry hill Moorestown Echelon Depford were the place to hang out it's so sad to see what they look like now.
Hey clawboss you should explore the Cincinnati Mills mall it's even more dead than that mall, there's only one tenant left. The place is pretty much abandoned.
There is a mall right outside of Lancaster City in Pennsylvania and it used to have a Sears in it and I think a Kmart and a couple other big stores and we used to go there pretty often and I would go get my glasses in Sears and now we go somewhere else for that but they shut down the Sears and the Kmart and all the big corporation stores that were in there and now since that happened pretty much shutting down the whole entire mall now I also remember that being a TJ Friday in there as well. We would go there sometimes on Sundays for lunch/super. They shut the Sears and Kmart down about 4 years ago in the mall and the other big stores thet where in there shortly after.
Is the Ephee’s kitchen still open , that was a new place in the food court that sells Nigerian food . Bath and Body Works and the Voorhees Art center are my favorite stores next to Boscov’s.
There are 2 big malls in my area. One is older and went down fast, it’s now being rebuilt as a. Amazon distribution center. The other mall is slowly dying down
Yo don't hate on those 49 cent toy cars, they're actually awesome. When I see something like that, it's just the perfect thing to play around with when you're having a boring day and at the end of the day, 49 cents is basically negligible money.
I used to have a doctor‘s once at the coral square mall I used to shop at and when I used to go to Orlando their malls use to have a video arcade as well
Malls are going out of business everywhere even before the pandemic since now you can get everything online I wish I can go back in time and enjoy malls again
This is the stuff I love to see man, car content too. It fits you as a person, you got the personality.
Man, I used to go here all the time when I was younger. It sucks to see how empty this place is.

The part where the escalator stopped was hilarious. But you’re doing so great. Wish the best for you Claw
I know how this feels, the mall in my local area is dying out too, very quiet and all the stores are leaving
Echelon was the BEST! I went there a lot as a kid and it was always packed. It's really sad to see what happened to it.

I wish sears was still open
The karate i do, one of the masters actually has a school there and there’s even tournaments at the mall sometimes.
How sad that that mall is just dead like that... Good Video Clawboss. Great outro Got a laugh out of that
that is a depressing scene, if monmouth mall closed it'd be sad, even though I've only gone a few times.

Nah it’s fine deptford mall is always packed don’t worry about it
Sadly the malls where we all grew up are like this or already gone. I'm glad you got to go there with your friends for a walk down memory lane 💗

Why are they dying ? Why is no one going to the stores ?
@@Bolter024 Because everyone is buying stuff online now.
@@whitephantom.2107 So stupid that is
I remember back in like 2002 to like 2006 going to the model Train store in that mall all the time and eating at the McDonald’s every time I would go
Thanks for this update! I missed this mall! I remembered every since store you named, we’re in a different world now. 😫
Every once in awhile I’ll go there to revisit my childhood too. I remember being in 8th grade (2014) they had a carnival in the parking lot and it was filled with people. Sad to see the mall just rot away.

Thats crazy how I was just there with my uncle not even 3 months ago
2:42 had me dying, great hat
I grew up 1 miles away and worked at 7 stores there in the 80’s. It was hopping.
Im surprised they haven't destroyed the mall yet. Right next to the mall there is a place (which is part of the voorhees town center) were there a ton of stores and a good amount of people go there
That's like a parallel to First Colony Mall here in Texas. Everytime I go it's always popping. It's rare when I go and it's not busy.
Many years ago a tiny mall near where I used to live was converted to all doctor offices.
They had a dance competition yesterday there at tilt studio, they basically just made it a dance place. And NDS is a sponcer for it.
I went in there during the holidays and they still had a mall Santa there along with Bath & Body Works, Boscov's, the offices, one food place closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and a day care. Security even questioned me on why I was walking around there...

Thanks dude, that is an eye opener!
My childhood mall (Ledgewood mall) got torn down many years ago. They put some new stores over it but it's not the same
I remember this mall
That’s crazy and sad always sucks seeing stuff you grow up with close down and everything I went to the Swansea mall in Mass before the pandemic and it looked like this had no clue it was going to be closing down a year later …

You should make more videos like this and exploring abandoned stuff or builds I'll like to see you exploring an abandoned building
Dude your hair has looked nice lately 🔥

Long time viewer, I love these types of videos! Keep up the great work 👍
I was going there when it was Echelon Mall in the 70's.
I love your vids!!
I just sit in car at the old Macy's store and remember how busy it was when I was young
Hey clawboss you should explore the Cincinnati Mills mall
it's even more dead than that mall, there's only one tenant left. The place is pretty much abandoned.
I’d totally be down for more abandoned malls and such
This is some great content, I would love to see more dead mall content!

I lived inside that abandoned Macys In 2017, and worked at boscovs
The Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs is almost like this.
Same thing happened to the mall I used to go to when I was a kid, I think they’re kicking what little is left out and demolishing it soon
I used to go to the same mall with my grandma that’s crazy how dead it is now
OMG I didn’t even realize Echelon was still open lol I’m gonna go!
That used to be my main GameStop back in the day....sigh
A $40 box of face masks. Those were insane times.
Wassup clawboss
I was subscribed for other stuff but apparently this guy knows what I like lol
I WAS JUST THERE YESTERDAY OMG
I actually took a boxing class at a postal service and tought me how to pack...
I used to have a doctor‘s once at the coral square mall I used to shop at and when I used to go to Orlando their malls use to have a video arcade as well
I literally live like 10 minutes from there I used to go there all the time and throughout the years watched it get less and less popular
Back in the day Funway Freeway was outside.
Our mall looks like a 60s/70s mall but now it's like a ghost town aince 2020 thing
That’s what’s happening to all the malls near me
I search up this place one time...
I get a ton of recommendations about this place
yo i was your fan in 97k sub now your close to 1M 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Also when u leave to Vegas?
How did you get inside the abandoned mall building? Did you have a key?
It's not abandoned, just really dead
You should go to the dead outlet mall in Tuscola illinois
Looks like Jason went thru and killed the whole mall😏
Omg TILT was the best!!
you are my boss
There’s a mall that’s closing down too near my place and it’s so sad to seeing it dying 😭
Facts
Maybe I’ll record a video and post it on my UA-cam to show y’all
Also a fact for the mall is the one that back to the future took place in!
@@ClawBoss my local mall is dying too. Very sad stuff.
