Russia is not very interested (obviously) in the Aircraft Carrier doctrine of war. Instead, they are far more interested in the development of missiles, drones and other more efficient warfare technology. This aircraft carrier is a sorry ole state, but if you look at other areas of Russian development, it's quite impressive. New submarines, jets, Missiles, drones, tanks etc.
Their tanks are impressive???? What rock have you been hiding under? The T-72 is a turret tossing blunder. The T-90 is totally ineffective, and the T-14 is so break-down prone Russia pulled it from battle in Ukraine. Ridiculous Russian propaganda once again.
A country is not considered a "super power" unless they have at least 1 carrier. Therefore Russia will maintain 1 "carrier" just for image purposes, no matter how sorry it is.
Why does this matter so much to anybody? Did somebody used to date Russia and get dumped and Russia started dating somebody else hotter? Russia is a land power on the other side of the world from the US. It's called a carrier cruiser and has tonnage so that it can enter the Black Sea where aircraft carriers are not allowed under the Montreux convention. Fires happen on naval ships a couple times a week in port and at sea. A $3 billion dollar US Helicopter Carrier recently caught fire under repair and was lost. The new USS Ford was over 5 years late was $13 billion dollars and as new faulty electromagnetic catapults that haven't launched a fully loaded F-18 and probably will never be reliable. Problems with elevators and design fault in nuclear propulsion plant. The new UK carriers have propeller shaft misalignment and propeller problems. One propeller fell off or had to be borrowed or something and twice the issue made them cancel cruises and return to port for repairs. UK submarines have had several near nuclear accidents in the last 20 years and one was found with crazy glue holding bolts tight on bulkheads. Carriers are vulnerable and obsolete to submarines like battleships were to carriers. 5,000 sailors is a lot to lose to a couple hypersonic missiles. Carriers look good on the news for the public and navy recruiting commercials.
Aircraft Carrriers are a liability these days. they can easliy be taken our. Even rainfall or large waves can sink them. When a thin layer of water gets on the deck if it is allowed to wash to one side that will turn it over quickly let alone a exocet missile or someing similar.

I wonder if Putin knows about this... 🤔

Ukraine hits them all the time. It’s been two years . This carrier can’t even carry the dead Russian soldiers lol

Russia makes the best stuff these days. I wish we had Mr Putin as our PM here in UK. Glory to Righteous Russia.
