They have been lowering the lake down by 12 foot every winter lately. They are doing this for repairs on the dam and other repairs needed around the lake. Should start coming back up now.
Come to find out, they are doing some construction work around the lake and they had to drain it. Its all about money. Nothing to do with the lake. Just the land around it.
@@cecilceciliireviewsadvice2475 Not true actually. They had to do work on both the dam and the septic system last year so they lowered the lake more than normal and for longer than normal. That's been the case for the past few years and its going to be the same this winter, my understanding is its going to get lowered January 1st 2025 and it won't go back up until the end of March. The dam is about 100 years old and its getting close to the end of its life so they've been doing the ground work for replacing it with a new dam. Before the work on the dam started they'd been lowering the lake for a shorter amount of time every other year so that people could do repairs on their docks and sea walls. I live right in the area you were filming and it really sucks having the lake down that long; but fixing the dam is the most important thing the town has to do so we just have to live with it.

I have lived in Hendersonville all my life and wanted to take my family fishing and was so sad over what we saw. Can't help but wonder about the fish.
