Introduction to Cryptoeconomics: What is it and why should I care?
Bitcoin is not only a currency. It's underlying Blockchain technology is an operating system for a new type of economy that incentivises people to do things. The Bitcoin protocol in particular incentivizes Bitcoin miners to verify Bitcoin transactions correctly and make money by doing so (aka mine bitcoin). We can now use similar mechanism designs to get people to do all kinds of things: we can create tokens that incentivise people to reduce CO2 emission by walking instead of taking the car, to plant trees instead of cutting them, etc. This keynote will give a brief introduction to the Cryptoeconomics behind Bitcoin and Blockchain, and why it is a game changer that could not only reinvent banking, but also all other industries, be a tool that we can use to "unf**k the world by making money"
