  • Wedding planners!
When we say the words "PUT PROFIT FIRST" how does that make you feel?
Does it make you feel a little uncomfortable?
Like by putting profit first in your wedding planning business you are deprioritizing other things like your couples, the heart, and soul of your business, your integrity, etc.? Like by putting profit first you are becoming a slimy salesperson??
If any of the above rings true for you we totally get it! We 100% used to feel that way. Until one day we realized that we were busting our butts 24/7 and making very little PROFIT.
And if we weren't making a profit we couldn't continue to run our beloved wedding planning business.
Today on TFM TV we're talking about how we shifted our wedding planning business to put profit first and why it's so important for you to do the same in your own wedding planning business. The success and longevity of your company depend on it!

Thanks for this video! A few things stood out to me...1) You priced your services much more than other planners in your area. And 2) Don't be afraid to charge what you need no matter where you are. This is currently what I dealing with. Even though I am in a small market/town with others who are not charging a lot, I know that I need to charge more because of the time that I am putting in. (I am a wedding cake designer, btw.). But at what point do you have to really consider your market to determine if the market could bear your pricing? Or should you test the market and see? :-)

Yay cakes!! Such an amazing art form! Thanks for your question. Depending on your area there can certainly be a ceiling cap. That's one that you kind of have to feel out. If you can't get people to pay your pricing time and time again you might have to bring it down. If that's the case think about neighboring towns. Maybe the clientele there is a bit more high end or maybe you notice that there is are ton of destination weddings that come to your area from other cities and those folks have higher budgets. If that's the case start to target those markets. Find those planners and vedors and get to know them. Create relationsihps with those folks and let the referals come pouring in!! :) Sometimes you have to get creative to find the high end clients willing to pay those prices but they are out there!

@@thefireflymethod5982 thanks for your reply! And yes, I know them all! And I like their price points. 😁 There market however is certainly different than mine. I'm in Huntsville, AL so the market is slower but I'll definitely look into the options you mentioned earlier. Thanks again!!
