The game against Colorado was a master class in defending by the Habs. I was blown away.

I never thought Lane Hutson would be so amazing in his first season with the Habs. He makes other players look better. He was drafted in 2022, 62nd, I think. I wonder where he would have been drafted if the GM' had known how amazingly he would perform.

      1st overall no doubt,
      22' draft:
Hutson at a whopping 0.75 PPG
Cooley is at 0.64 PPG (I think or close)
      Slaf is at 0.52 PPG

His brother Cole might be just as good! Just saw him in the world juniors, was one of the United States best players. Went second round as well, GMs are asleep! lol

It's that dumb old hockey mindset that you need to weigh 200 pounds to play in the NHL.

The last Hab to win rookie of the year was Dryden in the early 70’s. Hutson looks like he will take the Calder.

That was a fun game to watch! It made sense that Monty got the start because Dobes started in Colorado, at elevation, and I'm sure that takes more out of a goalie.

Montreal scored 5, but man did their goalie make some brilliant saves.
We should have scored 8 in regulation.
I loved the physicality, and battle back.

drew it is so nice to watch the habs flying around actually playing hockey….. our defenseman gotta stop trying to block shots & laying on the ice!!!! staying aggressive is what we need to do…. still get rid of savard , gally devorak armia & bring up our younsters . we also need one big veteran to be our captain.. sazuki is our best player by far but if we could bring in a landaskow or a tchuck would be huge!!!!! thanks drew for your content..by the way this version of armia is great but he has been a one for 10 game player since he got in the league..

So the OT goal was Lankinen saying Dach pushed his glove out of the way when Suzuki shot. If you watch the replay as Dach comes across he grazes Lankinen’s glove, but definitely not enough to warrant goalie interference.
What a game, this team is on fire.

Interestingly, they still have 2 games coming up against Ottawa this year, one in March and one in April. They might have a good chance to put Ottawa out of the picture if they win those.

I didn't get the review of the OT goal. Dach never touched it, then they were saying that maybe he touched the goalie's glove? Was odd, he wasn't anywhere near the puck or the goalie to cause any interference.
My question though (and I think I know the answer to this)...say Suzuki's shot went off Dach's shin pad and in, but Dach had his stick in the air, would that constitute a high stick goal? Or would the puck have had to go off his stick to be a high stick? Because I literally thought that's what they were going on about, that the puck went off Dach, but he had his stick in the air, even though the shot wouldn't have gone off the stick.

As much as I am happy that the habs are currently in a playoff spot, how many times are we going to be in 7th or 8th spot? Don’t get me wrong I am happy. Would be more if we can dominate and reach top 3 in our conference. I will be patient and hope the Habs continue progressing. Go HABS go!

3:14 Nice comeback win ! Bud I've been a subscriber for a long time but in what world do see Matheson as anything but useless? Ya he he plays big minutes and screws up most of them. Last night for example he's standing in front of the net like the plug he is for a Vancover goal. And he's on the ice for most goals against ! Dumping him and Devorak can't happen soon enough !
