We followed similar routes. I think your ascent was a little northwest on the cliff band than mine was but relatively close. You did the second high point and I did not. I went behind and then dropped down sooner. You went further along the ridge toward that saddle. I wonder if we were even in the same drainage. I crossed the drainage from the saddle and sidehilled the southern elevation and then dropped down into a smaller drainage when that became untenable. Your drainage was probably better but the smaller one had those gems, which was really cool. I didn’t reach the confluence with the large drainage for some distance. Glad to see the video.
Hi Piece Train, I just went back and watched your video, so I'll comment on it too. But I took your A route up, and you went the B route. And I wish I would've watched it before I went, since I went too far south after the second highpoint.
@@ZacharyTeich-HikingTraineragreed. I went back and watched and you went up further southeast than I did. I was worried about cliffing out. Not sure which route is better. I went west of the bulge and you went east of it. I’m sure the rock was equally bad. My route was steep and poor traction with a steep band of rock at top but it looks like yours was too. Now we know there are at least two routes up and I’m confident from what I saw there are at least one or two possibly easier routes west along the rock band.
@@piecetrain9767 I was functioning on a few sporadic hours of sleep after leaving PFlugerville at 9:30pm. So I really don't remember the climb that much, although I don't remember slipping too much. So maybe the route I took up is better. But from looking at it from the bottom it's hard to tell. Yes, I think there are a lot of ways up. It was a fun peak/peaks.
Hi Jackie Boy, you're right, it is an amazing place. It is my favorite place in TX, and maybe one of my favorites anywhere. I was glad to see it again.
