sir if we are using back and across and standing on leg stump after going back and across we will automatically on middle. so is it right to take leg gaurd instead of middle?
Hi Gary, Recently adopted your style of a more open stance and I do feel more balanced. I have however, been given out LBW last couple of weeks to a seamer who bowled on the angle but then straighten like a leg spinner. This week was a right arm in-swinger (felt a little hard done by with this one as I was chest on and it hit my right pad - but I still should have hit it... Should I have gone forward). I take 2 guard and trigger to middle, but I'm also left-handed. Any thoughts for a lefty? Loving the videos... Keep them coming.
Hi Gary, isn't the point that if you are too open, the bat face comes from an angle vs the side-on classical cradle motion. If your body is behind the ball, your bat has to come from outside in (just biomechanically) which reduces the chance of hitting the ball. Finally, your advocating defending with the bat very much in front of your pads instead of besides the pad/under your eyes?
Always play forward defence in front of pad so you are leaning into the shot more with head forward of body with the ability to have good access to the ball when it turns or swings in. If you play level with pad and the ball moves in, you just get hit on pad because you can't get access to the ball because pad in in the way. Also you will not lean in to the shot as much.
@garypalmer8976 Hi sir can you please shed light on bat downswing in open chested technique, I think down swing should come straight towards the line of ball but in this open chested method bat comes from slip region.... Is this only head that should come in line of the ball or shoulder also..
Bang on! Fantastic explanation
Welcome back Sir 🎉
Sir plz make more videos

What are your thoughts for the guard left handed batsmen would be best to take?
Middle
What's your justification on that... Not saying it's wrong just want to understand "the why".
Gary, what would be your response to people who say that batting is predominantly a side on game. Thanks
nope it's not
Monetization is coming 😁
