Really great Explanation Gary. One question would you mind why Marnus Labusagne is getting an edges with an open technique?
And don't sure how opening up front shoulder early allows to keep side on through off side?
Really pleasure to see your views or anyone can enlighten?

    Hi Gary.
I have been following you since the pitch-vision days and improved a lot.
As I have grown older, I have got more susceptible to full length balls or Yorker deliveries.
Could you please make a video on dealing with full length deliveries or yorkers?
    Would be highly obliged.

Sir should we use the middle finger, ring finger, little finger of bottom hand while griping the bat and also throughout the completion of the shot?

Yes he is very side on.
He is so good he can get away with it as he is a genius. He does frequently play around his front pad but has such a good eye he gets away with it. Other players will find it much more difficult to do this and will be more susceptible to getting out LBW because the closed front shoulder will encourage a players head to tip to the off side. This leads to getting closed off and playing around the front pad I belive Joe would be even better if he was slightly open because he would play straight even better because it would enhance his alignment and he would get better access to the ball with the full face of the bat. This would make it even harder to get him out against the newer ball when it's swinging and nipping around early on in his innings . He would also find it even easier to drive more balls in the V with the full face of the bat.
Also keeping the front shoulder out the way puts your head in a better position to consistently maintain good balance and alignment. This will makes it easier to play straight and to make the decision to leave the ball outside off stump.
Mitchell and Blunder are goid examples of batters with an open stance who play straight well.
They were very consistent in scoring runs during the England V New Zealand Test series.
Many successfull International world class players have open stances and keep their front shoulder out the way when playing straight. Generally the ones who are attacking players who hit well down the ground.
Ben Stokes is a good example from the England team. He has a very good technique.
Joe is one of the best players in the world.
