Genelec is a manufacturer of high end studio monitors (and some quality consumer speakers too). Their plant is located in Iisalmi, Northern Savonia. It's about 80 miles south where l live.
Many domestic and international studios, producers and artists use their products and services, as also Nightwish and Poets of the Fall etc., of course. ⛄👍
If I'm correct the beautiful music Tuomas is playing is from the soundtrack "The Piano" (1993 by Michael Nyman. I wish there was more, and longer, footage of Tuomas playing only the grand piano. I could watch it for days on end.❤
Glad you enjoyed it! I thought is was cool seeing some of the behind the scenes from Imaginaerum. The film is full-length, (1 hour 26 minutes). I miss Marko 😢. Hey Buster!
Definitely not quite the same without Marko. His persona and vocals were iconic.
Ayreon just released the first video from their show last September on Arjen's UA-cam channel and it has a great keyboard solo, so I thought that Wolfman might enjoy reacting to it.
I saw this some time ago, There is also a video of a tour of this same studio by Anette. Apparently the basement sauna is a very important place.

I think Tuomas is a bit of an introvert, and some people will interpret that as snobbish. But I get the sense that he's very humble and down to earth (as is the rest of the band).

Tuomas is far from snobbish. Just a typical finn, a bit reserved.
Took me a bit to get to this. Kept not having enough time to just watch. Not a listen video. I like seeing these they are just cool. Some of it is very interesting. This is the one you started through before?I think? Was looking forward to more here and checking the whole thing out. Happy you did this. Somewhere there's one with Marco at Framus with his bass.
Looks like an oboe but has a bigger bell than I would expect to see. Some variation I think, not a cor anglais which doesn't have the bell. Perhaps a Wiener Oboe?
If I remember I'll ask Anna next time she comes with my sister Sue in 10 days or so

It looked and sounded like a middle eastern simple horn instrument. I am not knowledgeable, but perhaps a Turkish Zurna, or a Mizmar?
@ecbftl It is a soprano Shawm apparently. Which is indeed sometimes called the Turkish Shawm!
