Whats sad is that when the Bugout first came out you could pick it up for under a 100 bucks. I paid 89 bucks for mine. I wouldn't pay 160 for it. I just picked this Walmart knife up of 10 bucks today. This thing is impressive for the money!!!!
I sharpen mine with a 15° angle and both sides and it works excellent. Not that I had to. I absolutely love this knife. Something I will carry unlike my really expensive ones.
Appreciate the takedown of the $10 OT knife! I've heard people who've apparently done it behind the scenes, but never seen anyone do it live before. I have to say, I have no trouble carrying this and using it every day, and not have to worry about it getting lost, or damaged - and who in their right mind would bother to steal it? If something happens to it, go pick up another (assuming Walmart manages to eventually keep them in stock, LOL!). If OT continues to make knives like this, they are going to cause a lot of waves in the inexpensive knife market!

That's such a crazy price for that. It makes me wonder how much does it costs to make a Factory made Folder??? Wow! Thank you for sharing. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I totally agree if you just want the utility and you don’t care about the art or the fancy stuff you can just get one of these and if you lose it or you break it or it gets scratched up, who cares? If you have a knife, that’s super nice and you don’t wanna even get it scratched up then it’s kind of pointless and if you buy a really nice knife that cost you $300 and you scratch it up then why did you get an expensive knife in the first place? I guess if someone gets off I’m just collecting and having a lot of knives that’s totally their prerogative so I’m not that but a lot of people aren’t into that. I just bought one of these and I also bought the new bush crafting knife from Swiss Tech called the Haltbar. For $49 that thing is ridiculous. If you just want to get into a little bit of Bush crafting and you only have 50 bucks to spend, I’m pretty sure this is the best 50 bucks that you can spend on a bush crafting knife with micarta scales super comfortable. Anybody out there can let me know a better Bush crafting knife than this for 50 I’d love to hear about it, but you would’ve had to have had both of them and actually compare. I got the idea from watching the channel Prepared Wanderer because I trust his reviews and he wasn’t kidding. It’s a great knife.
Econ 101, its called Economies of Scale, Wal-Mart can order so many of these from the manufacturer that the manufacturer can buy so much of the material required to build the knife that the cost of the materials get steeply discounted due to the huge volume (scale) ordered by the manufacturer. Moreover, the manufacturer can afford to ramp up its production capacity via tooling, machining, etc. so that they can manufacturer them cheaper. So no, not WTF, Econ 101 just economies of scale. The larger the scale the lower the cost per knife or any other item is to manufacturer. This typically translates to lower retail price as given the lower manf cost, it can be sold at a lower price and still maintain good profit margins. Maybe instead of saving up for another neck tat, you might want take an online Econ course. Just a tip, for you there, Just the tip.

That would be really cool if there was a way to swap out the scales for G 10 or if they made these in green instead of that awful orange and it would be great if they weren’t coated blades
I've been seeing these posted all over the socials lately, tried looking online to see if any of the 10 or so Wal-Marts within an hour drive of me have them, haven't been able to find them in stock anywhere for the past week. Hopefully they have another batch on the way!
I was just out flicking mine and I noticed that the pivot screw walked almost completely out. I was probably only a few flicks away from losing it. Edit: Wow! yours was locktighted? Mine was loose out of the package and I could turn it with the pad of my thumb.
thanks for taking that orange knife apart. Can you compare it to the $10 Gordon knife? I’m seeing in seeing the orange one all over the UA-cam, but NOT at walmart. You guys must have got the heads up and bought them all 😂
I have seen YT reviewers that tightened the pivot because they had a little side to side play (mine didn't) and they did it while the blade was open and it locked it up, so do it while it's closed is the best way, I guess.
Boggles my mind people telling someone what they can buy and what they can’t buy. As if they pay your bills. 👉🏼👌🏼them with a rusty barbed wire wrapped knife.
Please stop making videos praising this knife. I have checked a dozen Walmarts, they are all sold out. I don't think i will be able to buy one for six months. If Walmart was smart they would double the price, and still sell out.
Junk I can’t believe people are losing their minds over a $10 knife at fucking Walmart. I’ll stick with my American made knives and I don’t mind paying $600 for them.
3 different Walmarts finally got 1 yesterday
I drove 40 mins away to a walmart that had this knife so I hear you
Bought one of these a few weeks ago, the Walmart in Cartersville, Ga.
