Wow I think the footage at @10:52 shows something super interesting. With the DJI the clifs look real to size but when you flip to the GoPro they get SO much shorter! Classic GoPro effect flattening everything out but its super interesting that the DJI looks so much different! Funny that the difference is only easy to tell in the 'audio test' haha
7:00 why Gopro never thought to do this still boggles my brain a bit. Having to relocate your angle every time you need to access the battery of mem card is ridiculous and has ended in so much wasted time and footage.

It's crazy it's exactly like all the other videos DJ's the second coming of Jesus.... I read somewhere that DJI actually has guidelines for the videos that's likely why. Forget to mention better stabilization on the GoPro.. sorta important
I think it's really funny that the company that doesn't speak English as their native language managed to get a better UI that is easier for us to navigate through. If I didn't have a camera or a channel I'd probably get the DJI. For my particular use cases I still lean towards GoPro. However, I have an 11 now and probably won't get a new one until whatever changes they make next year. The upgrades seemed nominal aside from filming verticle with the max lens 2.0.
Would really be interested on how the GoPro compares when the MaxLens Mod is added. I assume it will better compare for FOV in both landscape and portrait mounts, but whether or not it is simply better than the DJI or if it just gives it enough for the GoPro to catch up to the DJI. The GoPro with Max Lens Mod would def cost more, but if the FOV is markedly better than the DJI, it might be worth it.

I can tell straight away when someone has taken POV clips with a Gopro (max lens 2.0) or an Insta360 and to me it looks terrible. The DJI in log mode with post-processing and RockSteady mode on the chest mount simply looks best for MTB clips.
Good video my man. The battery on both lasting all day is crazy. I have a Go Pro hero black 10. I now have it set up on 4K all the time. The battery will last about an hour. I actually bought a couple of spare knock off Amazon batteries so I can get 2 1/2- 3 hours in. I used to video in 2.7K and one battery would last a couple of hours but 4K is a different ball game.
My biggest annoyance with the GoPro is the design of the media mod. You put the GoPro in the media mod and then use the foldable feet on the GoPro to attach to your mounting point. This means you have to take the GoPro off the mount and remove it from the media mod just to change the battery. This would have been so much simpler if the media mod had its own feet. With that said I've seen nothing in the last two years that make it worth buying a replacement for my GoPro 10.
I have the Gopro Hero 11 right now, but if and when I upgrade, I am definitely switching to the Dji Osmo Action. Don't get me wrong, I love my Gopro, but the Osmo has a better camera.
Does DJi have Quik style editing software? Editing time is what kills most people’s action cam usage from my experience. I like that you can flag highlights as you’re recording on GoPro

The clip system alone wins my heart. I bought a magclip thing for the GoPro, and its a game changer but those damn screws are always a pain... If GoPro ever upgraded to a similar method, everyone would lose their shit cause they would need to replace all their accessories. but my god, what a better design.
Accessories still work, its just a part between the camera and the mount. That magnetic thing has those magnetic clips on one side and the screw on gopro mount on the other. GoPro accessories are very commonly used for DJI camera cuz there is a wider variety of options because of gopro being so established.
Thanks for this wicked good vid on the cameras... I watched because I'm in need of a new camera for my channel. I looked at a couple other cameras also, but your video made my choice of camera a lot easier... looks like the DJI would work best for me also. I like the more modern mounting magnet thing, and the low light looks awesome (We ride mostly at end of the day).
Gopro Labs is a big reason for me to stick with GoPro. GoPro out of the box is meh.. but once you dial the settings it can be amazing but DJI is certainly also awesome the decision these days is difficult for sure.
I’m a small channel I own all go pros. Well not the 12 yet. I like my go pros. I don’t own a dji 4 but I do like the go pro I know the settings but I have a memory issue so I barely change them ..however if you look at point and shoot. At least a go pro session is that. Dji magnet …they make it for the go pro. I back go pro. Dji maybe get one….insta 360 that little what thing is gimmicky

You helped me buy a new DJI, thank you. I'm a new channel trying to be like yours but in dirt bikes (and fellow Big dude)... Anyway, I tried watching many videos about settings and when I get into the Pro mode, its all washed out and way over exposed. I went back to shooting in 4K/60 and all else on auto. My footage will be similar to yours, have you found better settings that work best? Thank you!
I have the focus issues with my 32 day old Osmo Action 4. Sold my Gopro hero 8 to buy this. Had to complete a Repair Request Form on the DJI website and now have to post the camera to Holland from the UK, where I live. If they don't fix it I'll immediately go to my credit card company, using Section 75, which is a protection policy we have here in the UK when a customer has purchased an item which is not fit for purpose. Any action camera is only as good as the quality of service you receive when the camera goes wrong
I've been GoPro fan for over 12 years and this year I made the switch to the Action 4. At first I was skeptical with all the UA-cam reviews, I'd come up with fanboy excuses to defend GoPro, UNTIL I actually bought one and tried it on my snowboarding trip to Japan last month. HOLY MOTHER, I was mind blown by not only the image quality but the user interface. One thing I LOVE about the action 4 is the magnetic quick release, man, that thing save so much time when trying to remove the camera from selfie stick, I found myself saying "thank God for the quick release" many times.
Anything that encourages more vertical video production is a negative feature. There are very few kinds of content for which vertical aspect ratios are better, and those watching videos on phones can easily turn them sideways to fully enjoy proper horizontal content instead of encouraging more bad videos with the sides cut off that can't even be fully viewed on a TV or computer.
I think the audio had the biggest comparison difference. I bet you would be able to hear an even more of a difference if I was listening on a computer speaker or home speakers for that matter. If I could tell the quality on my phone. It’s even worse with better speakers
Yeah I thought that too but I recently got one and really yanked on the clip to see and it stayed on. You have 2 really thick high quality plastic clips and a strong magnet. I think my chin mount would give out before the clips. I rode some jumps and rock gardens on my mountain bike and it's worked well. But it could be different for dirt biking!

The DJI is my new "go to" camera- But it's STILL missing one glaring feature that the gopro has: BURST photo mode!!! If DJI ever does a firmware update to include that feature, it would be a total home run...

You can discount the gopro with the clip, instead of screwing it off the mount completely ☺️ I love that the dji i doing so well, competition on the market is great!
Bro grab yourself a Insta Go3 with the magnetic necklace just snaps to the magnet behind your shirt, no need to screw it into a chest mount and has camera specs that rival both of your reviewed ones. I put the magnet necklace in anpocket of my camelback and snap onnthe camera when I want a follow shot of the rider behind me
Thanks for the comparison . Did you notice that the vertical field of view of the GoPro is much higher due to the 8:7 sensor. @ 3:23 I think it can make a big difference if you see the horizon and bike in a MTB Videos…
If you look at 3:27 you can see much more of the bike on the DJI and more of the sky/horizon on the GoPro, its the same i think, just tilted slightly different. DJI crops in from a 4/3 sensor, GoPro crops in from 8/7 sensor, dont think there is a difference in vertical FOV.

the gopro is for camera people in the action world and the dji is for action people in the camera world

the max lens mod 2.0 has a FOV of 177° and this makes a huge difference
Should look better since its adding 100$ to the total cost of the camera

for about 10 bux there is an adapter that allows you to use the DJI magnetic mount system. But that is for the GP 9-12. If that were the only reason😊

DJI is so much better. GoPro has had so many issues. Since i got my action 4 i haven't had a single freeze or issue at all

I think it's more the replaceable lens on the Go pro and the mount n case I heard a couple the guys at the trail going on about it having over the DJI
I prefer the DJI because of the much better handing.
