Kidde key box or Kidde key safe

Instructions for Setting code or recombinating code for Kidde key box or otherwise known as Kidde key safe. These locks at one time were sold under the name Supra.

Much better than what they provide in the box. Be advised, this thing does not seem to care which order you enter them... So if you use it a lot, change the combo frequently because all you have to do is select the buttons that look worn.

Definitely more helpful than the enclosed instructions. However, I wish you would've explained that the grey SCREWS are shaped like arrows. I had to use a magnifying glass to finally figure out what arrows you were talking about! But thanks - saved me a lot of time.

Thank you. What I figured out from the comments is that you can put the numbers in, in any order. So 1 2 3 4 can be unlocked w/ any combo of the numbers... 2314, 4321, and so on. This is fine by me, I just wasn't sure how that part worked. Thanks for the video!

Holy shit!! Thank you so much! I literally spent 45 minutes reading the directions and could not figure out that you had to turn ONLY the numbers for your code in the "set" direction to set it. I feel wicked dumb, but the directions are not clear. I thought to set the core you turn all the numbers in the set position, enter the code, and then turn "set" off. Like, I thought you turn the arrows one way to set the code and then when you are finished turn them to "set off."

Thank you for this! The paperwork misplaced and we hadn't been able to meet up with the person who knew how to change it. We finally found them but looked way involved so I pulled up reliable YT and here it is! The light in the room I was in I couldn't see the arrows so it wasn't working. Thanks to Judi's tip I went into better light and got it!

Be advised the arrows are lightly embossed into the plastic. I needed to see them with magnification they are SO SUBTLE.

You are so accurate. I had to put a really bright light on the backside to discern that there actually were arrows! Otherwise With the unaided eye it looks like there are just ten flathead screwdriver indentations rather than arrows.

is there any way to open it if you turned the on screws in a vertical position rather than sideways? i had trouble seeing it when I set it and now it is locked and won't open. I've tried the method of hold down the open button and testing which give resistance but it doesn't help

I have same Kidde keyholder cannot see ''all the little arrows'' -- can see 2 arrows as shown in the film but WHERE EXACTLY ARE ''ALL THE LITTLE ARROWS'' showing which numbers are ''up'' and which numbers are ''down.'' VERY Confusing directions.

My observation: with this lock if we set 1234 as password . Any combination of those four numbers will still open.
For example 3241 , 2314 , 4321 and so on.. will still work. 👍

the arrows was very very difficult to see. You have to take a double take, because it's so faint. Kidde needs to make it more visible. Very good tip of putting back the key back into the slot.

Yes, ! We successfully reprogrammed the code for this old, simple lockbox that came with our house. Maybe we won’t upgrade to a techy lock

Yeah once upon a time I remember reading the instructions I think I had been a locksmith for about 6 months and I just kind of laughed and I thought to myself somebody needs to do a video and then finally one day I wasn't doing anything so I figured I would make some lives easier.
