Best fabrics for Beginner Dressmakers - Laurens Guide

When it comes to fabrics that are suitable for making your own clothes and garments, the choice is huge! This is great, and really exciting but it can seem like a mine field when you first start dressmaking - sometimes too much choice is overwhelming and not a good thing.
In this blog post, which complements my other blog post on choosing beginner dressmakers sewing patterns for a first time garment project, I want to narrow down that choice and focus on the best type of fabrics to choose for beginner dressmakers.

Excellent! I have been sewing for awhile, but I still find these videos really helpful! Bless you for your informative videos, I live in Canada, and cannot order your fabrics, as the shipping costs are too high, but love watching the videos.

This is very helpful. Most of my fabric shopping is online and it’s difficult to get a sense of the weight of a fabric in a picture. This same video on knit fabrics would be great since there seems to be so many options it gets confusing. Thanks again for the video.
