Dude, I ALWAYS play on Extra hard and yet win as Sweden OR GB everytime. However playing Prussia is almost impossible on X HARD AS THE ENTIRE WORLD WANTS YOUR ASS. 'Empire's' biggest flaw IMHO is the overpowered Maratha Empire attacking the rest of the world by 1725/30. Rediculous but still my 3rd favorite game after TW Medieval II and Rome I. Napoleon is just less interesting to me being so less expansive and narrow focused.@@Dick_Sanormus
I'm so glad you mentioned the instability of the mod now, because in the Empire II video a year ago I received information about an amazing mod (superlatives only), which I immediately went to try, to find out the mod is unplayable. I will try again and hope!
I absolutely love how positive your videos are! Watching your videos not only helps me chose good mods but also enhances the gameplay for me as I'm more focused on all the positives!
Another amazing video buddy 👏 I haven't had the chance to try out the new update due to life reasons, but I did install it and have played the previous version quite a lot. Can't wait to see what has changed. The thing I like the most about the mod is the fact that we finally got unique factions on the battlefield with the massive amount of units added, like you have mentioned. But everything about it is amazing and you are soo right. Just a little bit more work and it will be among the greats such as DEI.
A lot of time has passed since the game was released and many things have changed. Seeing what WH3 looks like I think they have the technology, the basis, to make an awesome ETW 2 game. But unlike WH3 I would like it to have old mechanics and features and not to be streamlined.
I got TAR (the American Revolution) Mod working and its been cool to see so many units for the factions (The US faction got a Fairfax County unit, which is where i'm from.)
Thank you for posting this. Recently found this and installed the mod today. Makes a game I was disappointed with into a much better game. I remember seeing the American soldier on the box(big fan of the American revolution) then realizing you couldn’t use them in the main campaign. At least with empire 2 being able to start early as the 13 colonies makes the game worth playing. Been in a heated war with 2 Indian factions.
What I liked about Rome II, would have loved to have seen in NTW is NGFS (Naval Gunfire Support). For instance if I wanted to blockade the port of Cadiz, or send ashore a regiment of Royal Marines to take the port, particularly if it is unmanned. Or if I am engaging in a costal battle against the French and I have fleet nearby. Having some 32lb guns from HMS Victory supporting my army could be quite useful.
Had to stop playing this mod because I had a weird glitch where my ships couldn't travel between theatres but I remember playing it for the first time after actually getting it working. The visual upgrade was the thing that hit you first but then technology changes, faction changes and map changes all came in and made such interesting game after game as I replayed each faction. I think this mod basically made the game what I would have wanted from Empire so i'm just glad that skilled and passionate people also had those ideas almost a decade before me to start working on the mod lol Might have to give it another go if it's been updated.

Platoon firing tech is missing, which unables to build Army staff school and proceed further with tech. Apart of this, I'm very impressed with result. Great job❤
Empire has been, and might always be, my favorite and most played Total War. If been waiting, and may never get an Empire 2. Darth Mod was a great mod but my biggest frustration with Empire has always been the AI. Nothing sucked the wind out of me more than having the enemy throw their cavalry at me in the beginning then engage me with a broken formation. Many battles began and ended with me just creating a solid formation, even with inferior troops and numbers, and waiting for the enemy formations to just partially throw themselves at me. I had a handful of battles in my Empire Campaigns with Darth Mod that were truly nail bitters that came down to the last few army groups being paired with my general for the morale boost just to steal a victory. Those battles were few and far between but I will download this Mod.
Mods mods mods! So many great wonderful mods coming out and just in time too. Not a fan of CA lately. Loved that feeling when playing this game, having my regiment be pulled off the line in Europe and send them to America's or India. Shift my different units around the world to fight in whatever theatre of war I'm in involved in
wow very cool i thought at first you were talking about darth mod which in my opinion was the best mod for empire but sadly outdated but that makes me want to play it again havent touched it in like 5 years now
-butt-ugly AI art -removal of all abilities, most types of shot and unit distinctions beyond their stats -unit bloat on top of unit bloat -AI is still horrible Yep, its "the best mod ever" time
None of these matter as long as the campaign has like 30 settlements with hugely important countries like France and Spain having only their capital. As long as Empire's map can't be modded, all effort is in vain.
Most annoying thing (other than random declarations of war like Prussia declaring war on the British), was that you were often forced to say, conquer France as the British to end the war, what you need is a Napoleon feature where you can make them a vassal.
At 4:45 and for about a minute afterwards, every time you show the map, I see a Central Asia region, and then I also notice the Americas are all filled in. Like time I checked this mod, it did not have that, and only Imperial Destroyer had it. Does this mod finally fill in the empty regions like ID does? Does it include the Bajar Sultanate in the East Indies trade theatre like ID has? Do any other trade theatres have occupiable regions in them? Are all factions playable? Sorry for the many questions. I've Loyally stuck with ID for years because of the extra regions, and now that I see them here, I want to know more. But was thrown off that some parts in the video the campaign map looked like vanilla. Lastly, what's the orange circle in the Sahara at 4:45? Is that a new region as well?
@@noblesseoblige7112 What are you talking about? ID added 5 regions in the Americas, a region in Arabia, a region in Central Asia, and a region in the East Indies.
@@noblesseoblige7112 The "other trade regions" not having regions being Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Madagascar? Okay good to know. What about that orange Circle-looking area in the Sahara at 4:45?

Thank you for your work, Termi. Let me just express a bit of criticism here. I hope you don't get offended or something. As an old TW fan, I only want the best for this UA-cam channel and TW community in general. So, my point is that I think the variety of the footage that you use in the video production can be increased. Those short video clips that the whole video is made of start repeating too early and sometimes are repeated too often. In my opinion, it makes the final product look a bit more boring than it should be. I know that it takes quite a lot of time to make it as it is. And I am grateful for whatever content you produce, my friend. I just want to draw your attention to this problem.
Great mod and video. Glad you captured all the bugs though as there are announcements practically daily on the bugs. Feels a bit like having a 5 year old telling you what they learnt everyday. That said, thank you to the modding team who have worked so hard to try and save a game that had so much potential
ty, gonna check it out! For me tho, the worst part of Empire was that it had very low "battle replay_ability" - everything was so uniform and repetitive, that there was no real motivation to play say, as UK when you already played as France - only campaign experience was somewhat fresh, while land and naval battles were literally copy-paste. So, I am actually looking forward to mods that at least make campaign worth replaying by adding events and historical immersion stuff. Not sure if I like mention of more AI armies tho :D , since again, battles are becoming boring really quickly in this game (much faster than they do so in Rome, Medieval, Warhammer etc.)
Man, I am busy with a few other games, but sounds like when I am done I will have to once again start playing Empire, the game that already has by far the most hours on my list of Steam games.
While the installation video says drop the whole mod file into "common" I found that one has to select each file and interpose over the vanilla files for it to secure. Also, be careful to do the same with the script files. In addition, Hard / Hard (standard on Darthmod etc) can be disappointing, as your units break and run at first contact.
Did it fix the problem of fire by rank? Whenever the first rank has fired, if the enemy routes, goes out of range briefly, or you target a new enemy, the entire group will wait until the first rank reloads, with the 2nd and 3rd rank standing idle... This was my biggest gripe with the battle system.
Napoleon 2 is still the one I'm holding out for. Would love a Grand Campaig that lets you fluidly take Revolutionary France through the Consulate, across the First Empire and towards a fictional 1816 should France manage to endure.
well damn, was playing empire yesterday after playing FotS thinking 'how great would it be if empire had a v2 made', just clocked off work and googled for it to see if CA have ever mentioned a sequal and here we go, CA not required. Just need to figure out how to get it on my deck
One thing i would like to see is once a nation falls, the troops it has should not be disbanded and should become rebels, although they could be reduced in size due to some desertions and what not. Will try this mod asap, sounds like a great one! 😊
I really just want a total war game that covers the entire earth with a tech tree that goes all the way from ancient through to modern times with each faction having their own paths that seem authentic. Being able to take various factions of Native Americans, some long lost society from subsaharan Africa or the South Pacific into modern times with something that feels natural to their beliefs and rooted in history would be amazing.
Yeah. Not to take away from the hard work of the modders, but we really need an actual Empire 2 (meaning brand-new engine). You can put as much cream and frosting on a pile of horse manure as you want, it's still a pile of horse manure.
Judging by the thumbnail of this video, I tought the point of it would be how they stole a LOT of things, from units to ideas, from a muuuuuch more fleshed out mod without even asking for permission, called Pirates Uber Alles. Check it out Terminator. You'll love it! :)
Glad I found the PUA mod after playing Empire 2. Almost everything that Empire 2 is being praised for, was taken from the PUA mod. Those modders deserve the recognition being given to this mod.
I really hope they add the smoke and sound effects of the muskets and cannons from darth mod, and also get rid of the white streak tracer effect, I always hated that about vanilla.
Me: "Diving into this game during my mid 30's years" .....lol Actually back in 2010 when I got a new computer, I saw this game on the shelf in Walmart and thought "oh cool"...bought it and went headlong into Total War....until Atilla. So it's not on Steam!?
Empire was the first time I was disappointed by CA. Not the last, of course, but it was the worst. Having the enemy general streak across the battlefield to go down in a hail of musket shot blew my teenage mind. I was so jazzed for naval warfare (even today, the ships rocking in the water after a broadside barrage gives me chills) only to find the rest of the game was so lacking. I will check this mod out. Maybe these modders can give me the experience I was hoping for at 17.
Saga really needs to make a Empire 2 total war. Combine the best of Empire, Napoleon and Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai. It would be really nice to have battles where you can bombard an army with a navy like they had in Fall of the Samurai. I really liked the liberation option in Napoleon.
To be honest Empire Total War as it stands today, isnt bad. The only Major flaw it has less is the Battle AI is VERY Ridgid in its tactics and ability to fight you. Seriously if CA remastered Empire TW all they would need to do is overhual the AI, fix a FEW minor bugs and boom perfect game. Maybe they would even add in that TRESAURE TROVE of Cut Content that is just Sitting around in the files. And not to mention ADD WORKSHOP SUPPORT to make getting mods like this EASY!
Pretty much. The game had a lot of great aspects but was severely kneecapped by terrible battle AI, terrible diplomacy/strategic AI, and glitchy firing controls in ground battles. They should have had the same sorts of firing controls that they already had in ship battles, and to have the first 3 ranks of line infantry be able to fire at once instead of modders having to give every unit mass fire to simulate it.
@@jaywerner8415 no, and fire by rank wasn't really used in real life. The first 3 ranks firing, or I guess volley firing, was accomplished by having the first rank stand a little off center to the right, so that the back two ranks could stick their muskets between the first two ranks without anyone's muzzles being behind anyone else. This was the safest form of firing.
Isn't bad my ass. Awful diplomacy (I'm talking Rome 2 level), little development on the campaign map, terrible portraits, worst AI in the entire Total War series, muskets sound like toy guns, terrible smoke effects, boring music, extremely limited time scale... Playing Empire for 1st time now as Sweden on hard but finding diplomacy annoying as everyone declares war for no reason yet on normal the other faction's armies too easy to plow thru..
Napoleon is a shell of Empire, Empire is a far superior game in any way you can think of.

"...Napoleon with the campaign map of empire...."
👍
THAT would be Awesome !
A Empire 2 with mixed naval/land battles , cannons +/ships defeding trading ports for free so block is hard, etc would be a massive hit
As long as a new map with new provinces cannot be created, we cannot speak of an unofficial Empire 2.
I can't explain this, but there's a charm to Empire that no other TW has, except maybe Napoleon but I'm not too sure
Playing with tin toy soldiers sort of aspect on a Risk Board.
Aww thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos and glad to have broadened your awareness of amazing mods out there! :) more to come ❤️
@@TheTerminatorGaming If you compare this with DarthMod you would say It's worth the shot?
I would say so yep :)
Impressive work! Thanks for the heads up.
Will be looking into this myself :)
Those naval battles alone were next level back then. Happy memories!
Another amazing video buddy 👏
I haven't had the chance to try out the new update due to life reasons, but I did install it and have played the previous version quite a lot.
Been playing it for awhile, it is amazing... empire is the best total war out there.
Does this mod bring in all the improvements napoleon had over empire?
Unmodded it's mediocre crap. With mods it's great.
Best Total War out there? Not even close. You need mods to even make it playable, lol. Napoleon was way better even if it lacked scale.
@@wtice4632no it doesn't.
@@noblesseoblige7112 big sad
I got TAR (the American Revolution) Mod working and its been cool to see so many units for the factions (The US faction got a Fairfax County unit, which is where i'm from.)
So nice to have this. Downloading it right now, thanks for the work
Nice effort! This mod shows more love given than CA...
I think this mod basically made the game what I would have wanted from Empire so i'm just glad that skilled and passionate people also had those ideas almost a decade before me to start working on the mod lol
Might have to give it another go if it's been updated.
Yep, me too. A newly built trader ship could travel (it seems) but when it arrived nothing happend. Too bad, hopefully it's fixed now...

Amazing !!!! My favorite Total War, I didn't even know that mod existed !
There must be trading points for tar & timber some of the most important raw materials for sailing ships time period and some of the points must be around/at the Nordic & Baltic states it was a large part of trade during the 1600s-1800s can't believe the original game missed it altogether & the same with the modder guild.
Thanks for the spotlight, I went and tried it, but, sadly, the number of units makes UI so cluttered that it became almost unplayable for me. And those are mostly just pointless same units with different name.
I really hope they manage to add a royal family mechanic like the previous games had and Empire had originally planned
Just tried a quick land battle in this mod out, I put in the changed musket sounds submod that comes with it, looks, sounds and plays awesome, highly recommend trying it out
Awesome bud! Can't wait to play it :)
Platoon firing tech is missing, which unables to build Army staff school and proceed further with tech. Apart of this, I'm very impressed with result. Great job❤
Been playing nonstop since yesterday. I think it could use some changes but i made those myself instead. LOVE this mod... so immersive!!
What/how did you change?
that is just impressive, specially that you can build an Empire of the Pirates!
Nice video, I ended up watching a mod breakdown for a game I never heard of 😂
Empire has been, and might always be, my favorite and most played Total War.
I hope someone can add more settlements to the mod so we can have way more to conquer and build are empire
I spit my drank out when he so casually breezed by "4,000 units"
honestly this feels like a whole new game im trying to redownload and get the traveling between theaters to work.
Mods mods mods! So many great wonderful mods coming out and just in time too. Not a fan of CA lately. Loved that feeling when playing this game, having my regiment be pulled off the line in Europe and send them to America's or India. Shift my different units around the world to fight in whatever theatre of war I'm in involved in
wow very cool i thought at first you were talking about darth mod which in my opinion was the best mod for empire but sadly outdated but that makes me want to play it again havent touched it in like 5 years now
-butt-ugly AI art
-removal of all abilities, most types of shot and unit distinctions beyond their stats
-unit bloat on top of unit bloat
-AI is still horrible
Yep, its "the best mod ever" time
None of these matter as long as the campaign has like 30 settlements with hugely important countries like France and Spain having only their capital. As long as Empire's map can't be modded, all effort is in vain.
Sounds amazing. Always wanted a new campaign as Persia. Thank you!
Most annoying thing (other than random declarations of war like Prussia declaring war on the British), was that you were often forced to say, conquer France as the British to end the war, what you need is a Napoleon feature where you can make them a vassal.
I don't know who you are but thank you for appearing in my recommendations
Haha you are very welcome ❤️
Nice I'll have to check this out!
There's only the region in the west indies ID added.
@@noblesseoblige7112 What are you talking about? ID added 5 regions in the Americas, a region in Arabia, a region in Central Asia, and a region in the East Indies.
@@parthiaball sorry all the regions ID added are also in this mod but the other trade theatres don't have occupiable regions.
@@noblesseoblige7112 The "other trade regions" not having regions being Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Madagascar? Okay good to know. What about that orange Circle-looking area in the Sahara at 4:45?
What about the melee AI?
And musket units having to fully turn, reform and only then being able to fire?
And siege battle AI?
Has the number of battle maps (settlement & fort) increased?
Constructive feedback is always welcome mate, I appreciate it. I’ll work on a better variety of footage :)
CA really should be taking notes. This is what an Empire/Napoleon II should look like.
Man, I am busy with a few other games, but sounds like when I am done I will have to once again start playing Empire, the game that already has by far the most hours on my list of Steam games.
Durango's overhaul for empire is also really worth checking out that flies under the radar
Cohesion is cringe
MY GODNESS! :D The installation could actually be a bachelor thesis :D :D Its so maaaad!
If CA ever make a Empire 2 I think it should be set in the same sort of time period as Fall of The Samurai was. Somewhere inbetween 1850 and 1899
Sounds good. We should really need the original game creators to make a second game here including the entire world and maybe have provinces like EU4.
All hail modders. The people who uphold the playerbase for CA and keep em intrigued in the games
I just can get this, says I need to insert a Disk 🤔 at the end of the setup before installing from Downloading.
Selling dreams again? I will wait for a year but thanks for posting.
This was the sequel to medieval 2 total war. Dang empire was ambitious in a way that the total war series hasn’t really been since.
Would love to see this ported to Shogun 2 using the old world overhaul map mod
But how did the modders solve France being a single province so if you conquer Paris, you conquer France? Genuinely curious.
Well... that's the neat part, they didn't
This material made me your subscriber. :-)
Aww thanks! ❤️
I’ve been playing this mod alot this week.
I just want a historical European gunpowder game based on fall of the samurai architecture
Yup I second that and I would not mind getting medieval 3 based on normal shogun 2. it is good enough to this day.
Empire TW was the precursor for Shogun 2 - by far the best game TW series made since Rome
I think that the most important thing about this mod is that it's in a very active development
The Scale and scope of this game warrants such a mod.
Can you travel up a river and portage? support troops on shore via your Navy?
Empire was great only thing that prevented me from finishing a campaign was the fort lag. Too frustrating bombarding walls. Such a shame.
Trick was to bombard the fort without making a breach, which triggered the bug.
Mortars firing Quicklime ftw
do a review about "Pirates Über Alles" mod for empire, it's criminally underrated
Next on my list for Empire ❤️
@@TheTerminatorGaming the mod have great submods especially the one who remaster the sound
Remastered ETW to the same standard as Rome remastered would be amazing, imagine the map they could make.
I love it when I'm trying to get a damn trade agreement, and then the ai ask for Georgia. STOP ASKING FOR GEORGIA AND TAKE MY MONEY
@@NYG5 Isnt that was Fire By Rank IS? All those animations work fine now.
Vanilla Empire is a bad game. Modded it's actually fantastic.
i ruled this game with bayonets and square formation and the sea with 4th rates all the time those should be your go to for early expansion, also the modder just put out an installer that just worked for me :)
Did he just breeze by 4.5k units like it’s not the most bar shit crazy thing in that list?
thanks for the review.
You should start showing how the installation process works with these mods. I’ve been trying to install this for an hour with no luck. Would love to try it but it’s too complicated for me I guess. I downloaded empire 2 like it said and then second file but no zip file was installed just a rar file. Pretty annoying this isn’t just on workshop. I’m sure a lot of people feel the same as me
Tried playing, but honestly what IS the deal with thousands of different line infantry? Impossible to even try to scroll through all the units to find which you want to recruit. Gave up after an hour.
It would be great for Empire Total War to expand the map of the Americas, Africa and Asia precisely to be able to colonize!
For some reason, unless I play siege mode with the napoleonic war time period. I can't have my units climb up walls
Great video as always Terminator. Would you recommend this over Darth Mod? I've been wanting to play a mod for Empire that has the same impact that DEI does for Rome.
Thanks! I would recommend it over Darthmod, but a lot bugs and crash issues still need to be resolved
dude got a diglett as his youtube account picture lmao
