      Not all babies respond to that. For some babies this would be overstimulating. A face massage sometimes worked on one of mine, but she didn't always want that. As a parent I listened. Sometimes I had to rock and sing to her for 40 minutes, but once she was asleep she'd stay asleep until 6am. Then we'd nurse and read and back to sleep for another 90 minures. My other baby fell asleep very fast without rocking or singing, but she woke up 1-3 times a night, and didn't take long naps. Sleep consultants can help figure out the best sleep pattern, but every baby is different. The best thing any parent can do is get to know their baby through obervation. Take time, observe their behavior, don't make assumptions too quickly. If their naps are long and/or late, baby will have a later bedtime naturally or they'll wake up more often at night.

How much I understand about the sleeping process and how body works and what happen when a child is sleeping? RESEARCH,RESEARCH,RESEARCH. OBSERVATION AND THEN ASSESSMENT. Thanks for the great video :)
    The side lowering is an amazing tip.
    How long do you wait before placing them in the crib? My baby likes to feed before bed and has the tendency to have tummy issues so I hold him upright for 30 min before I even attempt to put him down. Otherwise he wakes up quickly due to a stomach ache (I don't always successfully burp him) or because he has spitup.

    I had one kid that wanted to be held and swayed. The second hated being held or rocked in anyway. My second also required a "houdini" swaddle under her swaddler, because she would bust out and wake herself.

    Best swaddle tutorial ever! I also learned that a firm bounce while rocking a snuggly held baby while blocking their eyes from light sources soothes them to sleep fast … Plus Shhhh-ing

    Just watched it and tried it right away, baby fell asleep in literally 2, 3 mins. He really calmed down in a second. I didn't knew this trick with first child.

    This makes me laugh because it’s all of the things my baby hates. She doesn’t like her face touched, doesn’t like shushed, hates being swaddled (tried all swaddling styles and types of swaddles). Not all babies will do well with these recommendations, and if you are an exception, just know you are not alone.

    Very interesting. I was very in tune with my son and followed these strategies (no pacifier though) to put him to sleep intuitively. We also did elimination communication. He pretty much always blew up his diapers when I was about to change them once we got home from the hospital so that’s how we got started on that before I ever even knew about it. I started looking into it and reading up on it when we’d already been doing it for months. Also, I find the calmer I was and my presence was (and still is), the calmer my kids respond. Good sleep is so important for everyone. Best tip my midwife gave me: sleep when your baby sleeps.

      What is the elimination communication?

    • @Mictlantecuhtli
      @Mictlantecuhtli 2 роки тому +2

      Works only when you have only one child.

    • @angelicaobrien8280

      @@FoodShowFan Elimination communication (EC) involves using timing, signals, cues, and intuition to know when babies need to “eliminate waste”. Instead of wearing diapers, parents and caregivers hold babies over the potty. Studies show that this method can help babies learn to use the potty at earlier stages.
