David Sandberg I hope you read this. You did NOT win the lottery. You are a very skilled director with a unique voice. Plus you have worked hard for your dreams and sharpening your skillz. They brought you to the states because they saw your talent in lights out. And they knew they would get an director who is skilled and much cheaper than established directors. You deserve this. The law of attraction works. Youve thougt about this your whole life, right? 😊❤ all the best to you
This is so valuable, like you guys have no idea. I rarely find interviews of indie/microbudget filmmakers who made it big who are willing to talk in depth about their story and how that happened, so seeing this was a huge relief. I appreciate you guys, both Ryan and David.
This is easily going to become my favorite podcast. Great questions AND answers. Nothing is more encouraging than hearing that issues big directors have are the same you have at a small level.
Loved the chat... love you... love ponysmasher... i understand the motivations behind doing it as podcast instead of a video..... but I still think the best form for these interviews, would be with video. Anyway great interview.... can't wait to see a teaser of the movie!
Website looks amazing! Awesome job you guys! Also, love listening to a variety of podcasts, but really excited to listen to all these you have upcoming.
Question for any mid-high budget directors who might happen across this comment; I'm trying to find out how one could make your lives incredibly easier ;) It would help me to know 1) In your experience as a director; What are the two biggest issues you're dealing with? And 2) Regarding your career including your films; What's the one thing you want more than anything? Thank you so much in advance, it means a lot to me personally and I'm looking forward to reading the answers.
Hey, willl this series be available on spotify? Would love that and instantly subscribe to it, if possible (most convinient way for android users). :) Great interview!
Nothing against anyone making this film. Just not the movie I want to see when i've felt starved for something good from the universe. It's been a long time since we've had a good, straightforward Batman film. Affleck fucked over the movie release timeline. The Batman should be the movie we're getting this year. I'd rather just have a Batman TV series at this point, so we can get more entertainment more frequently. It'd make me more willing to give something like Shazam a shot if my core wish was met.
Directing sounds like extremely exhausting and exciting at the same time. Then again I'd much more prefer to direct than to clean toilets at a mall (with all due respect to those doing that).

What a great start to what's gonna be an amazing and insightful podcast. Film Riot, you are golden in my book. 👌
Great episode.
Would love for it to be a video podcast
Great podcast, guys! Excited to listen to the next one and to see the movie when it comes out! Congrats, Mr. Sandberg!
Good luck to David! He's awesome.
Thank you for this. It's very helpful to see that Directors go through pretty much the same things just one different scales.😀

Great talk from a fellow Gothenburger (Swede) :) Who the heck gives this a thumbs down ?
What a great start! Thanks so much for doing this, looks like I know what I'll be listening to tomorrow!
Going to the gym tomorrow, can't wait to listen to the podcast
Thank you for this new podcast
This is awesome and so inspiring.
I listen to podcasts while I animate and I'm sure this is going to keep me super entertaining!
Welcome to our first episode, our guest is someone we’ve interviewed in a previous episode.
Aww yeah! I was sooo pumped for this!!
I love Pony smasher so much! He's such an inspiration for us who want to be filmmakers
David is very talented. His shorts were well crafted and engaging. Some of the stuff on YT, is copy and paste. No one trying to do their own thing.

Ponysmasher is a great guest. Interview style and questions leaves a bit to be desired.

Who came here after watching the Shazam trailer?
me

Kung Fury
David F. Sandberg: the shorter the movie, the better
Zack Snyder: let's make this movie 3 hours long
Don't worry i love you both
2 hours for solo superhero movie should be fine
Do they swear
David sandberg really doesn't know what he's doing he knows he got lucky not just with this gig but his entire career
SDPRZ I think he knows actually what he's doing
Elz Robinson yh after watching the Shazam trailer it looks like he does
Keep in mind he's not the only one making the film. He's got a full crew of experienced people working with him.
