Hi there. I am having a question. I have created models from a stockyard using Agisoft Photoscan and wish to import it to Terra for annotating and volumetric calculations. Any hints regarding the model import to Terra and processing steps would be highly appreciated.
Hi, thank you for the comment. Yes, the orbit is a function of DJI Terra. There is a small on-screen button that will cause an automated slow orbit around the current center point that you see on the Terra screen. I am not aware of another type of automated movement such as a Fly-Through, however, you can utilize the movements manually any way you want by using the mount and shift keys to navigate the on-screen view of the rendered 3D image.
Aaron, I've used both and they are similar. I do like the simplicity of the DJI program, and most importantly the DJI Terra uses your local computer resources. So, no waiting in line or in the "que" like many other online map engines.
Hi. We used the built-in mapping "mission" function of the DJI RC Pro Enterprise, which is a function of the built-in Pilot 2 app. I believe we used an oblique mission for this image capture, although we could have used a standard non-oblique mission and received similar results.
Hello. I am interested in purchasing the M3E with an RTK head. I am needing it to perform material removal reconciliation for surface mining operations. Is DJI Terra a standalone program that is purchased separately? Are base statuons needed for reference points? What is a good number to reach you at for a quote?
very similar requirements, did you ever make a purchase, what did you get and why? currently iam looking at mavic 3 e with RTK and battery combo with dji pro
@@abinodattil6422 I ended up purchasing a Mavic 3E with RTK. I also purchased a propeller ppk license and aeropoints, and have performed 4 flights so far with great results. Note that if you use a ppk workflow with propeller and their aeropoints system, you don’t necessarily need the rtk module. The rtk module would be needed if you will be utilizing your own local site calibration and/or a base station and rover. Check out the propeller corrections network to see if your sites are within their network range. If your sites are within their network, then you can save $500 on the RTK module and put that money towards purchasing their aeropoints for ground control.
@@pickledpeople4374 newbie here. 1. what proppeller ppk, as i understand, it corrects gps for better results?, what was the cost?, is it even related to drone deploy or dji terra?. iam unclear 2. aeropoints seem like precalibrated easy to mark control points
@@abinodattil6422 Aeropoints function as your ground control points and collect accurate gps data during the duration of your flight. When your Mavic 3E is flown, it will record accurate gps location of each photo. When combined with the aeropoints ground data during post flight processing, this produces the “calibrated” accuracy of the site for your map and measurements. Propellor can also work with calibrated sites and “shot in” ground control points utilizing typical survey methodologies. Propeller is built with mining operations in mind (stockpile, mine plans, etc). Drone deploy and other mapping programs started as 2D mapping programs and are in my opinion, far inferior when compared to propeller for volumetric calculations and historical site comparisons. Don’t hold me to this, but Im not certain that drone deploy fully supports the Mavic 3 enterprise series yet. Propeller actually worked directly with DJI to develop their PPK workflow for the Mavic 3E specifically. So much so, that DJI allows Propeller to sell Mavic 3E drones with the Propeller license if desired. There are different cost levels with propeller. I went with the unlimited processing ppk package at $12,000 per year. I know there are less pricey packages, that require something like a $500 processing fee per flight/upload, but I’m not certain on yearly license cost. I can give you a good contact for pricing and information if you are interested. Aeropoints cost around $800 per aeropoint and I purchased 3 to start with. Propeller gave me a really good presentation prior to purchase to make sure I fully understood the capabilities of the program. You can also check out their UA-cam channel and get a pretty good amount of info on their offerings.
Hi, thanks for your interest! We have what you're looking for, in-stock. Head over to our website, www.widroneservice.com, and you can find all our contact details on the "contact" page, or you can shoot us a message. I'd be happy to speak with you. Yes, the DJI Terra is a standalone program, purchased separately. They have annual or perpetual license that you can buy. No base stations are required, but if you wish to utilize the D-RTK function you'll need either the DJI D-RTK 2 Mobile Station OR you can skip that and simply connect using the NTRIP network - basically an OTA service for RTK fix.
Hello can you check how much GPS error this is with this drone without RTK, im currently using a DJI Mini where the average GPS error is 1.18 meter. So it's not very precise.
Hi, Neg. I wouldn't know. However, for measuring stockpiles like this, we aren't too concerned about the GPS error. The map and triangulation for this purpose was plenty accurate. For engineering purposes, RTK-level precision is highly recommended, along with the use of ground control points (GCP's).
RIght! That would be nice. Unfortunately, DJI will probably reserve the Terra software for the more commercial models, but anything could happen. However, you may still be able to use your Air 2S for mapping using Drone Deploy or Pix4D software once they become directly compatible. In the meantime, you can still upload your images to either server, but until either supports full integration, they won't be able to send your drone out on the actual map-mission flight.
Hi Ross! Honestly, I can't remember the flight parameters. I do believe we had the overlaps just set at the default. Altitude was probably around 150ft if I recall correctly.
This is on a DIY built computer, mid-performance build, but it's basic specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core Processor @3.9GHz, 16.0 GB RAM & Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 Super Founders Edition Graphics Card
Thanks. No RTK module was used for this flight. However, using the RTK module in conjunction with either NTRIPP or the DJI D-RTK 2 Mobile Station, would increase the overall map precision, if that is something you require. RTK precision is best for mapping projects such as construction, engineering, etc.
Yes, of course! There are multiple ways of sharing or viewing the data. The data can be viewed using the same software on another computer, or an export can be created and then imported into another preferred software.

Hi, sorry I wasn't able to hear the audio very well. The DBs were a bit on the low. Otherwise thank you for the video 👍🏾
Thanks for watching! Yes, sorry the audio was terrible. Sounded great on my phone, and then after the upload I noticed how bad it was. Sorry!
Did you GPS in Ground Cintrol Points first?
Yes, it's imperative to conduct actual ground shots for GCPs so you can overlay over TERRA

Is this just using M3E's camera? or using extra payload to achieve this analysis?
Thanks in advance
Great setup ❤
Thanks! The M3E is definitely nice. We've had many happy customers buy them from us!
Do you need GCPs for this flright ?
How are doing that smooth orbit around the pile? Is that a function of Terra? Does Terra have a smooth fly through video function in the 3D model?
