The Confederation fought both the Borg and Dominion. Has 30,000 ships on the Dominion front in the Gamma Quadrant. If they are as technological sophisticated as the Federation it suggest they have Transwarp capability. Also it helps their ships are heavily automated. A Kaplan F17 is a warship where in the Federation it is a civilian vessel with a NAR registry like the Raven. This means these smaller ships with minimal crew make up the bulk of their fleet. This is similar to the Dominion fighter ships. Also they have A-500 androids as canon fodder and resurrect dead with Golems like Picard.
A little late but I would give the Confederation the edge. Not only did they defeat the Dominion and the Borg whereas the Terran Empire fell to the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, but they are more unified in their decision-making and command structure. Once the Terrans start winning they're liable to fall back to infighting, but the Confederation is more likely to stay unified until the final battle is won.
It's depends on the time frame by Picard confederation had modernized weapons technology from bio neural circuits to trans phase torpedo and other nifty stuff on account of general Picard defeating the Borg Terran empire Yes are strong but I think what they don't develop the scavage from their conquest
Actually, if you read the Star Trek novel dark mirror which takes place on a mirror universe starship enterprise run by Captain Picard they actually talk about the Roman war between the Taron Empire and the Roman star Empire, and that when the Taron Empire made it to the home of the Ramen, the Ramen killed themselves so that they would not be conquered
In terms of the boys club thing, I suspect the Terran Empire sometimes is a bit of a boys club. The fact that in Discovery female uniforms have become a lot more conservative is no doubt because of our own changing attitudes. However, it can also be explained canonically. In the early period of the Empire female officers were expected to objectify themselves gaining power by sleeping with male superiors to eventually become a Captain's woman or higher. Hoshi Sato's accession brought about a greater equality between the sexes which continued into Georgiou's reign, however the advancement of human women came at the expense of aliens of both sexes, as we no longer see alien officers in Terran crews by Georgiou's time. After Georgiou's fall, the next Emperor presumably a man who reigned in the time of the Original Series restored the old attitudes of the empire in regards to both sex and species.

Also the Terran rebellion might of overthrown the KCA by the 25th century
The Confederacy of Earth had conquered the entire Galaxy IIRC! So I would give them the win!
Long live the Terran empire

I would say the Confederacy due to it being more professional and competent where the Terran Empire is clumsy and convoluted.

You have to give it to the Confederacy of Earth. They hunted the Borg to extinction.
It’s easy. Of course the empire would win. It would set all its vassals against the confederacy and then finish the survivors.
